After dinner, Alix sent her parents off. She was pleasantly surprised to hear from nanny Luo that the boys were helping nanny Wang to do the dishes.

She joined them in the kitchen and watched them with the eyes of a dotting mother, a proud smile on her face.

"They are good boys." nanny Luo whispered to her.

Alix nodded. They really seemed to be good boys.

"Big sis, can Jiaan sleep over next time?" Yuewei asked her when they were finishing up.

"Of course." She nodded. In fact, she was surprised that he had gone willingly with the Tai’s. " All of my brothers are welcome to sleep over any day they wish. Do you guys need me to tuck you in?"

The boys shook their heads, rejecting her offer rather strongly.

"We are not babies." Yuewei said.

She rubbed her hands and smiled cunningly. "Okay, i won’t tuck you in but i am still giving you all a good night kiss so line up and receive it. Don’t even reject me because it’s not optional."

She gestured at them to come closer, moving her eyebrows excitedly.

"You look like a pervert." Wu Wei whispered.

Surprisingly, after saying that, he moved first. Pulling Wu Gang with his slowly, he lowered his head reluctantly in front of her.

Alix was slightly surprised. She was expecting him to walk past her and take Wu Gang with him. So, was this a sign that someday he would accept her fully?

She laughed softly and kissed him lightly on the head. Wu Gang widened his eyes in shock. Wu Wei nodded at Wu Gang and the other lowered his head too. Alix was cheeky. Instead of kissing the top of his head, she kissed his cheek and ruffled his hair quickly.

"Such a brave boy our Wu Gang." she said, using the tone which grandma Tai often used on her.

"Tch!" Wu Wei rolled his eyes. He led Wu Gang out of the kitchen, muttering something about having homework to do.

Yuewei was not shy with Alix anymore. He presented his cheek and even slapped it lightly as if to say, bring it on.

She kissed his cheek and he lowered his head. She ruffled his hair gently.

"Our Yuewei is also a good boy." she said.

Yuewei smiled and raised his head. He tilted it slightly to the left and looked at the two younger brothers who were turning around a corner.

To Alix’s amusement, Yuewei sighed like a tired adult at the end of a long work day. "Sister, just give them sometime. Wu Gang is curious about you and if you keep showing him affection, he will come around. With Wu Wei, you will need to show him that you are a responsible adult and you can care for Wu Gang. If you can help him lower his burden, he will be happy. That kid is a certified tsundere."

Alix giggled a little. Yuewei spoke of Wei as if he was much older that him, forgetting that he was just a year older.

"Has Wei talked to you about Gang?" she asked him.

Yuewei nodded. "He told me that Gang was hit on the head by someone four years ago and he has been different since then." He frowned and told her, "Sister, i feel so bad for them. They must have gone through a lot since the death of their mother."

He took her hand rather suddenly, looked into her eyes and said seriously, "Big sis, we will take care of our younger siblings and protect them from those people. That old woman came to the school today, the one that calls herself my grandmother."

He dropped her hand got his phone out of his pocket. He opened we chat and showed her an image of their grandmother. It had been shared in a students group chat and someone has asked whose grandmother she was.

"Did she see any of you?" Alix asked him worriedly.

Yuewei shook his head. "We used the car you sent for us and drove straight past them."

Alix knew the old woman quite well. "She will return again. She is not be looking for the twins but you and she will not give up. Just keep avoiding her and do as i told you when any of them corners you alone. I am going to talk to Caishen and get some bodyguards for all of you. From now on, none of you should go anywhere without a bodyguard and a car."

Yuewei frowned.

Alix pinched his cheek and smiled. "It’s for your safety. Those people will kidnap you if necessary. Go and do your homework. Stop worrying about problems that adults should handle."

She spun him around and pushed him out of the kitchen. "Don’t stay up late playing games, you have school tomorrow."

She heard the elf system laughing and she ignored it. She was already aware that she was the biggest hypocrite for giving that advice.

Nanny Luo sidled up to her and they both stood in the entrance to the kitchen with different thoughts on their minds.

"How did a man like your father give birth to three sensible boys like them?" nanny Luo asked. Her voice was laced with the same wonder which Alix had when she asked a question similar to this one. "Are you sure they are his? Looking like someone doesn’t always guarantee that you are related to them. Does your father have a brother?"

Alix cracked her knuckles slowly and gulped. There was a bit of unhappiness on her face. "DNA tested nanny, they are his sons and he is not my father. You met my father earlier at dinner."

Nanny Luo looked up and noticed the unhappy look on Alix’s face. She recalled that Alix did not like Lin Qianfan being referred to as her father.

"Those people....., the Lin’s." she started and she sighed.

She had so many questions and things that she wanted to say but none mattered. Alix was an adult and she could make her own decisions. So far, she seemed to be doing well.

"They seem to be really good to you." nanny Luo said softly.

Alix smiled and nodded. "Mother made me a bento box today and father brought it for me at school. I took pictures of it. Do you want to see?"

She was excited to show off that she didn’t wait to hear nanny Luo’s response before showing her the pictures with pride on her face.

Nanny Luo touched the side of Alix’s head and caressed her hair gently. "Congratulations, you finally have another worthy mother and father. Your mother must have sent them to you as a gift."

Alix did not argue with that. The Tai’s had somehow come into her life at the right time. They had come when she needed to sell off all the gems she received from the game.

They had come at the moment when she needed a strong backing of her own in order to stand upright in the Zhang family.

Just then, a random thought crossed her mind. Maybe it wasn’t her mother but the lucky gaming system which brought the Tai’s her way.

Suddenly, she started to think that it was maybe time to change her name as well.
