The Young master's fake bride and her lucky system-Chapter 234: A father-son talk [1]
For Caishen, after separating from Alix, he went to meet his father who visited him in his office. Just like Alix, he was quite late for this meeting. Surprisingly, his father was sitting in one of the waiting chairs outside of his office rather than inside of it.
"He insisted on waiting from outside." Biming explained.
Caishen nodded. His father was less presumptuous than Wang Yong. If it was the latter, he would be inside flipping through Caishen's personal property already.
"Ahem." Caishen stopped in front of his father and cleared his throat.
Zhang Xian was reading a newspaper when Caishen arrived but he stood up when he heard a voice and saw his son.
Then he felt awkward for standing in front of his son that was in a wheel chair and he sat down again. This whole interaction was bizarre to him. He was wearing a nice new expensive that somehow felt ill fitting. The luxury shoes on his feet were burning him, demanding to be taken off. And the tie around his throat was choking him. These were not things he had touched in the last twenty years.
He had no idea how to look at or address the impressive young man in front of him. He also had no idea why Caishen wanted to meet him.
Caishen was not disturbed by his father's weird behavior or standoffish attitude. It was rather expected.
"Let's head inside."
He turned his wheelchair to the front and headed into his office, followed by Biming, his father and lastly the bodyguard who was carrying the fruit box.
Instead of sitting behind his desk where he often seemed invincible, Caishen opted to stay in the center around the sofas which were arranged for personal visits or meetings with six or more guests.
He positioned himself opposite of his father and looked at Biming. "Prepare some of that fruit for us and put the rest in the fridge."
"Yes, CEO." Biming responded loudly.
When he left, Caishen and Zhang Xian were left alone in loud silence. To Zhang Xian, the sound of the door locking behind Biming was akin to a prison lock. He was so nervous that he started wringing his hands and scratching the scars on his arms.
It was plain to see that he would not be initiating this conversation so Caishen went first. It was him that invited his father over after all.
"Well, hello Mr. Zhang." he spoke formally. He often slipped between calling him father, Mr. Zhang and Mr. Wang. What he called him often depended on the situation.
Zhang Xian tried to force a smile and tugged at his tie awkwardly.
"Hi....hello CEO Zhang." he replied.
Caishen was taken back by the CEO address, this was his father after all. It was even more awkward than him addressing him as Mr. Zhang. He sighed and decided to become as blunt as his wife. If they both continued to play this game, going round and round, nothing would be accomplished.
"This is weird, right?" Caishen asked him.
Zhang Xian nodded slowly.
"You should take the tie off, you didn't need to come formally dressed. We can even go somewhere else if you feel stuffy in my office." Caishen suggested.
Zhang Xian took him up on the tie removal issue. He ripped it roughly off as if it had offended him and tossed it on the chair. Loudly, in relief, he sighed.
"Thank you." he said.
Well, this is better now. It should be easier even moving forward, Caishen thought. He decided to go a simpler question next.
"So, how are you? How was the result of your medical checkup?"
"Good." Zhang Xian answered. "Your grandfather has the results of all the tests I did."
Grandpa Zhang had personally escorted him to the hospital and even made some follow up appointments with psychiatrists and a cosmetic surgeon.
"That's good." Caishen replied. "What about your head, your memories. What did the doctors say about it?"
Zhang Xian leaned back in the chair and crossed his legs. It was such a comfortable move as if he was familiar with this setting. It came to him so naturally, not something a factory worker could easily do when meeting a man of Caishen's stature.
Obviously, some of his father's instincts were still there deep down.
"They said that it has been so many years since the accident and they have to conduct more tests to find out if I can recover them. Apparently something up there in my mind was damaged." he touched the scar on his face and scratched it a bit.
Caishen listened and nodded. He was planning his next question but his father beat him to the punching by asking a question of his own.
"Do you have a lot of work?" He was looking at the paperwork on the desk and models of buildings, designs on the right side of the wall, many books on a shelf. It all gave the appearance of a very busy person, one that was probably overworked.
"I have help." Caishen replied and followed up with a question. "How are you liking the new house?"
"It's nice, very big." Zhang Xian shook his head and continued. "Too big. I didn't think that I would ever live in a house like that. Who needs six bedrooms for a family of just three people? It has two living rooms, the kitchen is probably bigger than our last apartment and we have four new maids to do everything." He sighed exhaustedly. 'It's too much."
"You will get used to it slowly, that's how you used to live after all." Caishen told him.

Zhang Xian shrugged. He didn't know if he would ever get used to it. He was used to working with his hands and having a job. Now, he was jobless and if he mentioned searching for manual work, his wife___, er, second wife would call his mother who then would call him in tears.
And now, his parents wanted him to move home so that they could re-build their relationship but Na Na wasn't invited to come along and she was making a fuss. She didn't want him anywhere near Yura. Everything was still a giant mess and he often sighed because he didn't know how it would be fixed.
"Even if that was the case, it was a long time ago. I am used to living a simpler life now." he answered. "You have asked me about my health. Am I allowed to ask about yours? Isn't it a tragedy that father and son both got accidents?" He scoffed and said, "You would think that I should have taken all the bad luck with me in my accident."
Caishen detected a bit of self blame in Zhang Xian's voice, as if the accident was somehow his fault when it wasn't. If anybody was to blame, it was Wang Yong.
He didn't think that Wang Yong had shared anything about the Zhang's with their father before. He would have wanted him to be raw and emotional when the discovery was made so he couldn't have known about Caishen's condition then.
Besides, how could a parent take away the bad luck of their child? Was the parent somehow psychic to know about such bad luck before hand and make a deal with God to have it transferred to themselves? What his father had just said was silly.
"I have recovered now and the wheelchair doesn't bother me anymore. Are you moving home?" Caishen blurted out. He had to ask___,had to know. It was one of the reasons why he had invited his father over after all.
