The world has turned into Hell's Game, why should I stay human?!-Chapter 1242 - 769: He Is Smiling (2)
Fisherman explained.
"Well, I must be pretty lucky. No, I need to notify City Hall quickly."
Liu Zheng hurriedly pulled out his phone and dialed 4399.
"What’s up?"
answered the call quickly.
"Someone is summoning an Evil God in Kowloon Walled City. It’s of high rank and almost successful."
He tried to keep it brief.
"Got it, anything else?"
asked.
"The barrier is set up around and in the sky, so you should be careful. That’s all."
Liu Zheng thought for a moment before speaking.
"Okay."
immediately hung up the phone.
"Oh, and the Cashier."
He suddenly remembered and hesitated.
The Cashier and he don’t have a great relationship, and last time even planned to severely punish him.
Even if that Evil God can’t get rid of the Cashier, letting him suffer a bit seems nice?
"Forget it, better to mention it."
Liu Zheng shook his head and called Niu Ma.
"Hey, an Evil God is descending in Kowloon Walled City, could you pass that on to the boss?"
Once connected, he spoke.
"What’s it got to do with the boss?"
Niu Ma didn’t react immediately.
"It’s just in case he runs into the Cashier."
Liu Zheng said.
"When did you start cozying up to him?"
Niu Ma was shocked.
"We’re colleagues, gotta give a head’s up."
"You’re quite the diplomat."
Niu Ma murmured and hung up the phone.
"Well, then can I trouble you to give me a lift?"
He saw the delivery time pass, then said to the Fisherman.
"I advise you to go out later."
The Fisherman shook his head.
"Why?"
"It’s hard to explain. Just understand there’s danger going out now."
Fisherman replied.
"Hey man, you really need to improve your education level, otherwise when you’re alone with Sea Girl, you won’t know what to say."
Liu Zheng earnestly advised.
"Nonsense, I graduated middle school back in the day!"
Fisherman barked.
In Metropolis, middle school education isn’t considered low.
"I graduated college with a double degree."
He smirked with pride.
"A college graduate doing deliveries? Did you get kicked out in the middle?"
Fisherman doubted.
In Metropolis, even the most destitute college student can easily find a white-collar job. Delivery jobs at Bloody Restaurant are only applied for by those with no way out.
"It was a forced job placement by the Employment Office."
Liu Zheng sighed.
"Ah, that explains it."
Fisherman understood.
The Employment Office only deals with citizens viewed as valuable by City Hall but unwilling to work properly.
In this situation, the Employment Office often forces them into low-cost yet necessary roles.
In Metropolis, having value is a fortunate thing, those who don’t know how to cherish it don’t deserve to live well.
"Where’s Brother Sha?"
Liu Zheng asked.
"Gone fishing, said fishing in a fishpond is too easy and boring."
Fisherman responded.
"And actually?"
"Actually he fished in the fishpond but came up empty-handed, quite embarrassing."
Fisherman couldn’t help but laugh.
"Hahaha. Should’ve sneaked a couple for him?"
He joked.
"With his skills, sneaking fish would only make it more embarrassing if he realized."
Fisherman rolled his eyes.
"True. I don’t mind embarrassment, let me fish a bit?"
Liu Zheng shamelessly suggested.
There’s so much good stuff in the Underwater River, and with his newly acquired fortunate item, maybe he could catch something big.
"Alright, but if the sewer’s lights shoot and kill you, don’t blame me for not saving you."
Fisherman casually warned.
If you’ve fished in the sewers, dreaming of fishing in the Underwater River is futile.
"Pretend I didn’t say anything."
Liu Zheng wisely chose to give up.
"If you want to do something, there’s a group of rats stealing fish from the pond, why not lead your Xi Family Army to burn their nest?"
Fisherman suggested.
"Sure. Where’s their nest?"
With his current strength, burning a rat nest is a piece of cake.
"I don’t know, find it yourself."
Fisherman replied.
"Then just notify me when you find it."
In such a large sewer, he doesn’t have the patience or time to find a rat nest.
"Do whatever you want, if you’re looking to die, it’s up to you."
Fisherman impatiently jumped on the Devil Fish and left.
He already notified the sewer, and the sewer has activated the defense mechanism. As long as Liu Zheng doesn’t go above ground, it shouldn’t be a big issue.
"So when can I go up?"
Liu Zheng asked loudly.
"Haven’t you already informed the people at City Hall? They know the situation above ground better than I do."
The Fisherman said without turning his head.
"Tch~"
He raised a middle finger in his mind.
"Iron Rust, I brought drinks and desserts for the kids."
Thinking it over, Liu Zheng decided to make a trip to the shelter.
"You’re almost like the Quartermaster of the shelter."
Iron Rust’s voice came from behind him.
"Can I receive military pay then?"
Liu Zheng laughed.
"You can, but if you spend it in the store, the ones selling to you would be the Special Action Team from City Hall."
Iron Rust said nonchalantly.
As for what they sell, it’s nothing more than things like tiger stools, pepper water, and electric chairs in the Metropolis version.
Secretly dealing with Iron Rust is fine, after all, the shelter’s existence is something the City Hall turns a blind eye to.
But if you dare to openly use the currency from the previous regime to buy things from the current regime, do you really think there’s no literary inquisition nowadays?
"Military pay doesn’t have to be money; it could be Extraordinary Items too."
Liu Zheng said, pushing his luck.
"Are you really short on Extraordinary Items?"
Iron Rust glanced at him.
"Lately there’s been a lot going on, and the stock is indeed running low."
Liu Zheng admitted frankly.
"Then come on in."
Iron Rust turned around and walked into a safety door that had appeared out of nowhere.
He followed inside and was greeted by Donia and Galina running over to welcome him.
Liu Zheng bent down with a smile, picking up one in each arm.
"Did you two miss me?"
He rubbed noses with each of them and asked.
"Of course I did, I even thought of you during my nap."
Donia said, blinking her big eyes.
"I thought of you too, but when I was going to sleep at night."
Galina said unwilling to be outdone.
"Well, I think of you even when I’m not sleeping."
Donia quickly followed up.
"Well, I..."
"Alright, alright, knowing you missed me is good enough. Come on, give me a kiss each."
Liu Zheng quickly stopped this little argument.
"Uncle Electrician, how did you become a human?"
Donia asked.
"I’ve always been human. I just lost my original body due to some accident and changed it for another. So, does the new body not look good?"
He asked.
"It does, but the original one looked more like Uncle Electrician."
Donia nodded first, then shook her head.
"What do you mean by ’look like’?"
Liu Zheng gave her cheek a gentle pinch.
"I’ll switch back later."
He said.
"Mm-hmm."
Donia nodded happily.
"Kids, see what I brought for you."
Liu Zheng walked into the large classroom, holding the package high.
"Wow~"
The children immediately gathered around, looking up eagerly.
"Who’s the best-behaved kid today?"
He asked on purpose, enjoying the feeling of being surrounded and adored.
"I am, I am!"
Each child believed they were the best-behaved.
Liu Zheng looked towards Iron Rust.
"They’re all very obedient, I really can’t tell who’s the best-behaved."
Iron Rust said with a smile.
"Alright, just sit back at your seats, and I’ll hand them out one by one in order."
He shrugged and said.
"Hurray~"
The children quickly returned to their seats, sitting upright.
Liu Zheng handed them out one by one.
There weren’t enough servings left for each one, so he divided them into pairs, allowing the groups to share equally with each other.
Very soon, he reached an empty table.
"Kids, is it okay if I give Paul his own share?"
Liu Zheng sought the children’s opinion.
"If you really appreciate him, you should let him share in it, just as if he were still alive."
Before the children had a chance to respond, Iron Rust spoke up.
"Makes sense."
He readily agreed.
After distributing the food, Liu Zheng watched the children share and trade with each other with a face full of affection.
"Isn’t it great?"
He said sincerely.
"Yes, it really is."
Iron Rust nodded.
"Come with me, let’s clean off the dirt from you first."
It suddenly said.
