Chapter 1208: Chapter 752: Farewell, Ouyegan

"Where are you now?"

Black Skull asked.

"138 Copper Gong Alley."

Liu Zheng replied.

"Copper Gong Alley? You didn’t chop up a reindeer, did you?"

Black Skull exclaimed in shock.

"Yeah, you know it too?"

"Of course I know. I was wondering how a smooth guy like you could have a knife fight with one of us. Turns out, you ran into that idiot. Keep a close eye on it, and make sure it doesn’t ring the bell. If you really can’t stop it, just chop it to death."

Black Skull said.

"It’s already rung the bell."

Liu Zheng replied.

"What?!"

Black Skull screamed like a woman.

"Oh, forgot, we’re not on the same team now, so it’s fine."

After screaming a few times, Black Skull suddenly remembered and calmed down.

"Damn, thought I was going to have to work overtime again. Speaking of which, it rang the bell and you still managed to half-kill it. Little brother, your skills are truly unfathomable."

Black Skull marveled.

"It’s not like you think, Black Brother. If it’s convenient for you, come over here."

Liu Zheng said.

"Alright. Keep that deer in check. If it suicides, things will get complicated."

Black Skull reminded him.

"No way, is it really that aggressive?"

He was somewhat shocked.

"If it weren’t this crazy, would it be able to stay in a clerical job with its abilities?"

Black Skull quipped before hanging up the phone.

"With such strong skills and such ruthlessness, why be a City Hall employee? Wouldn’t joining a gang have more prospects? If that fails, the Ten Thousand Great Mountains might do."

Liu Zheng shook his head and stood next to the reindeer, keeping an eye on it.

Fortunately, probably due to the backlash of its abilities and excessive blood loss, the reindeer hadn’t woken up by the time Black Skull arrived.

And Black Skull didn’t come alone; he brought along the Sheep, who had been seen last during the drunken incident at the French Plane Tree.

"Wow, little brother, what happened to you?"

Black Skull looked at Liu Zheng for several moments before recognizing him.

"Don’t mention it, I’ve temporarily lost my body and can only use an Artificial Body for now."

Liu Zheng sighed.

"Was it from delivering takeout?"

"Not exactly."

He pointed in the direction of the Bloody Restaurant without saying more.

"Tsk, it’s not easy doing your job."

Black Skull saw this and didn’t ask any further.

"This is Lao Bai, whom you met last time. I was afraid I wouldn’t be able to explain things clearly on my own, so I brought him along as a witness."

He pointed to the Sheep beside him.

"That’s necessary. Sorry for making Brother Bai come all the way over."

He said politely.

"No trouble, I wish you’d call me for more of these good things. I happen to be short on cash lately."

The Sheep replied unreservedly.

"Just a small token, Brother Bai. Use it for some hoof repair and fur care. If you need more, feel free to let me know."

Liu Zheng smiled slightly and put a wad of cash into the Sheep’s pocket.

"It’s enough, enough. Modest wealth brings peace. I’m not blessed to handle great riches."

The Sheep laughed heartily.

Black Skull ignored their conversation and walked straight up to the reindeer.

"Wake up, stop playing dead."

He called out several times. Seeing that the reindeer was indeed not faking it, he took out a syringe and inserted it into the latter’s chest.

"Ho!"

The reindeer made a sound as if waking from a nightmare and opened its eyes.

Just as it was about to struggle, Black Skull quickly held it down.

Seeing it was Black Skull, the reindeer stopped struggling.

"Why are you the one providing backup? Where’s the deliveryman?"

It asked two questions in a row.

"That deliveryman called me here, or you’d be dead meat by now."

Black Skull pouted.

"You mean died in the line of duty. I was wondering why that deliveryman was so arrogant; turns out he has you as a shield."

The reindeer corrected with a sneer.

"You’ve switched so many positions and still haven’t improved a bit. I protect him? It’s more like he protects me."

Black Skull rolled his eyes.

"As for dying in the line of duty, maybe if you hadn’t rung the bell. But since you did, it’s called heroic action."

"I didn’t ring it a third time."

The reindeer argued, a bit defensively.

"Is that not ringing? You didn’t ring successfully. The evidence is in their hands. You accuse him of obstruction, he’ll accuse you of illegal release of evil, and you won’t win."

Black Skull said.

"Are you here to be his advocate?"

The reindeer stared at him, asking.

"If you think so, then yes. Don’t be fooled by his being just a deliveryman; his background is unfathomable, and he’s got connections everywhere. You can’t beat him."

Black Skull said half-truthfully.

"So what if I can’t beat him? Am I a deer who’s afraid to die? Even if I die, I’ll make sure he’s drenched in my blood."

The reindeer said angrily.

"Damn, a real lunatic."

Black Skull helplessly scratched his balding skull.

If this guy were acting out of a sense of justice, Black Skull wouldn’t agree, but he’d at least have a bit of admiration.

The problem is that he knows the reindeer has none of those noble qualities; it’s purely family-inherited, daring, and easily provoked.

"Don’t think about yourself; think about me, will you? When we were on the same team, how many times did I cover for you, take the fall, take the scolding? Hmm? You tell me."

Finding threats ineffective, Black Skull played the emotional card.

"I even wrote all your reports for you. You went to the Black Market..."

"Stop, stop, stop."

The reindeer quickly interrupted him.

"Some things are better left unsaid."

"Don’t let me talk, and I just have to. I’ll even tell Crow Big Mouth, but make sure it doesn’t spread it around."

Black Skull said fiercely.

Crow Big Mouth is a crow, officially named Yashisi, and Crow Big Mouth is its nickname.

As the name suggests, this guy is the famous loudmouth and gossip king of the sanitation department; no gossip can hide from it, and it can’t keep any gossip secret.

The sanitation department has a classic joke about it: if you want something known by everyone within a week, publish it in the newspaper.

If you want everyone to know something within three days, get it on TV.

If you want everyone to know something within an hour, just tell it to Crow Big Mouth.

If that’s still not fast enough, tell it, "I’m only telling you, Crow, don’t let it get out."

"No!"

Reindeer shouted like an imp who got its toes stepped on, splitting its wounds open.

"Then just pretend this never happened."

Black Skull took the opportunity to say.

"Hmph!"

Reindeer turned its head away.

Based on Black Skull’s understanding of it, anything less than a refusal was an agreement.

"All settled."

Black Skull returned to Liu Zheng and said.

"Thanks, Nigga."

Liu Zheng thanked him.

"It’s nothing. You better get going now; the big team will be here soon."

Black Skull said.

"Sure thing."

He took out a wad of cash, stuffed it in Sheep’s pocket, and drove away from Copper Gong Alley.

He was about to hang out at the clinic for a bit when a stranger’s call came in.

"This is Ouyegan."

Once he answered, the caller introduced themselves.

"Oh, it’s Master Ouye. Is there something you need?"

Liu Zheng thought for a few seconds to remember.

This is a sword casting master and weapon collector. He got "Laziness" from him and traded "Laziness" and White Feather Chicken back for "Anger."

"The flesh grind from last time isn’t enough; come over and add a bit more."

Ouyegan said.

"...okay."

He forced a smile.

Liu Zheng drove to No. 14 Baijia Alley, Ouyegan’s home.

He knocked on the door, and Ouyegan quickly opened it.

"Hmm? Where’s your original body?"

Ouyegan frowned as he looked him over.

"It’s temporarily gone. But the head’s still original, so it’ll do for now."

Liu Zheng shrugged.

"Come in."

Ouyegan didn’t ask more, leading him into the previous workshop.

Once inside, he didn’t immediately summon the Blood Sea Grinding Disc; instead, he kept staring at Liu Zheng’s new body.

"What are you staring at, sir?"

Liu Zheng got unnerved by his gaze.

"I’m wondering if your artificial body could be used for sword casting."

Ouyegan didn’t hide his thoughts.

"Master, I only have this one body, so please don’t think about it anymore. Here, let me show you something else."

To divert Ouyegan’s attention, he took out the Shoushan Copper Ore given by the Heavenly Martial King.

"Shoushan copper, nice stuff!"

Indeed, Ouyegan’s eyes lit up and he snatched it from Liu Zheng’s hands.

"Where did you get this?"

He asked fondly.

"Tomb Guardian asked me to rob a tomb, and the tomb owner gave it to me as payment."

Liu Zheng replied.

"Hmm?"

Ouyegan looked at him.

He understood every word, but put together, they were baffling.

"It’s a bit complicated to explain; do you want to hear it, Master?"

Liu Zheng asked.

"No need. I’ll take this Shoushan Copper Ore."

Ouyegan said decisively.

"Sure."

He agreed just as decisively.

"Aren’t you going to hear my offer first?"

Ouyegan didn’t expect his quick consent.

"I trust that you won’t shortchange me, Master. Besides, you’re the only sword casting master I know; it’s not much use for me to keep the Shoushan Copper Ore."

Liu Zheng chuckled.

"Smart kid."

Ouyegan said, feeling a bit proud.

"But..."

He dragged out his words.

"But what?"

"But I have two requests for you, Master."

Liu Zheng chuckled.

"Go ahead."

Ouyegan wasn’t foolish enough to agree blindly.

"Have a look at this first."

He took out the "Giant Crescent-shaped Blood Gemstone."

"Hmm, interesting, seems to be of foreign origin, with a divine aura."

Ouyegan accepted the gemstone, feeling it for a bit.

"That’s right, it’s from an external divine source. I want you to embed this gemstone into this knife, Master."

Liu Zheng brought out "Anger."

"Anger" already had high quality and matched him perfectly; it should be his main weapon for quite a while, and it was part of a set with room for enhancement. Inlaying it with the "Giant Crescent-shaped Blood Gemstone" wouldn’t be a waste.

Though he was eagerly awaiting the weapon that Ouyegan was crafting, long-term goals can’t solve immediate needs, and it was better to convert it into a combat advantage right away, especially since who knew if it would be ready before the instance concluded.
