The Wolfless Luna's Revenge: Returning With His Secret Twins-Chapter 266
[SAMANTHA’s Point of View]
I looked down at all of them with such hatred that I couldn’t contain it anymore, and I saw Olivia and Richard’s eyes widen with dread in them. I had never seen them scared of Dominic’s wolf before. Seeing how intimidated they were by my wolf, after years of insulting me as a worthless, wolfless creature, was very satisfying; at that moment, I could taste the fear in their hearts. 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦
If they ever still had one.
The strange warmth embraced me as the adrenaline pumped in me. My eyes were sharper; my ears could hear everything, from the sound of the smallest insect in that forest to the fast, frantic breathing of the Bennettes. Olivia was frozen on the ground; she was lying while her father stayed behind the gigantic Shadow Werewolves as his guard, like a huge coward.
My eyes were focused on the old traitor. To end all of this craziness happening in Black Forest and the Silver Crescent, all that Dominic and I needed to do was to kill the man.
While he breathed, he would always come after my twins and me, leaving me no choice.
I had to kill him with my bare hands.
After I saw the terror on Richard Bennette’s face upon seeing the power I displayed in front of him and his army of shadow werewolves and Black Claws, Dominic and I glanced at each other. Our eyes met, and I saw his crimson eyes glow to gold—as the power surging through my body resonated with him, as our mate bond grew stronger.
Like a cable wire that tied us together. A connection so strong I could feel his every emotion swimming in his eyes as he gazed at me like I was the world to him.
[NOW!]
Under the full moon, Dominic and I unleashed a power that no one had ever expected. Everyone at the camp froze as we roared and fought our way to Bennette, killing the shadow werewolves and the Black Claws that blocked our path to him and tried to stop us.
Kill him. Those were the words that echoed in my and Dominic’s heads.
As I pulled a shadow werewolf’s limb away from it, I glanced at my twins and saw that they were still surrounding Olivia, who wasn’t able to move because of the purification light that Diana, Devon, and Purple emitted, trying to get rid of the curse that was overtaking her body. Olivia’s scream in the background made Richard Bennette alarmed as we all saw how he tried to get away and hide in his camp.
[You can’t escape us now, Bennette!] Dominic snarled as he jumped over the enemies that started attacking us in a large horde, giving Bennette time to escape the place.
From behind us, Killian ran at full speed and tried to track the old traitor, not leaving him in his sight. My eyes were wide, afraid that we might lose the chance to get rid of Bennette. Again. And I couldn’t afford it. We had to end it tonight! We had to, or he would never leave my family and me alone!
[Killian! Please! Find him!] I begged; my throat was starting to tighten and swell.
Dominic and I couldn’t go forward. How many of Bennette’s minions have we killed already? I lost count in my head. My focus was to find the old man and make him pay for everything he did—for killing Lena! For wanting to kill my twins and me to gain power and end the reign of the Wolf King and his bloodline! For attacking Silver Crescent so many times that the people were starting to doubt my husband’s ability to protect the pack. For hurting everyone.
We had to stop him no matter what!
But that second when I took my eyes away from Dominic, I saw him being attacked by two of Bennette’s giant shadow werewolf guards, and he started to struggle because not only were they strong, but they were fast as well.
[Dominic!] I screamed when one of them caught him, and its massive claws reached my husband’s back. I almost stumbled to the ground from the desire to push him away from the claw’s range, but it was too late. Blood sprayed from my husband’s back as he flew a few meters away and was too weak to get up.
[No... No, Dominic! Open your eyes! You can’t die here like that! Please!] I tried to shake him to open his eyes as I saw that he had almost passed out from the deep wound he had on his back.
Dominic cursed under his breath as he fought not to lose consciousness while we were in a heated battle. He looked at me with worry on his face, but the desire to protect me and the kids never disappeared. Despite the tormenting pain, he still managed to sit up and stand on his four legs and glared at the enemy.
[I can still fight.] He said hoarsely, his breathing fast and shallow, and I could tell the level of his pain almost blurred his vision. [Don’t worry about me.]
[No! You can even barely stand on your feet, Dominic!] I cried at him, my heart pounding so hard in my chest. The sound of it was like thunder in my ear, distracting me with the fear that if I didn’t do anything about the wound, he would bleed to death!
The most horrifying thing happened next when the curse in the wound started to spread into my husband’s body. Black veins appeared, and I gasped as Dominic started to grunt in pain.
To my surprise, a bright light covered my husband’s face. And when I looked to my right, Devon was already standing there. His palms were open as he tried to purify the curse and heal his father’s back.
[Devon.]
[It’s okay, Mom! Diana and Purple are doing their best to hold down the Phantom Lady. Trust that they can handle her. And trust me that I can take care of this!]
At first, I didn’t know how to feel as I watched my twins do their best to help their Dad and me win this battle. Devon and Diana were strengthened by all the struggles we went through, and I didn’t know before if I should feel sad or be proud of them about it.
But seeing my son helping his father made me feel in awe at the dedication he and his sister were showing to offer me and their father aid in the battle we never thought we badly needed.
They both proved to us that they could also fight in their own way.
[Thank you, Devon.] I whispered to my son, staring at his face as he struggled to fight the curse that was trying to poison his father. [I don’t know what we will do if you and your sister are not here to help us.]
Devon, despite the effort to stop the curse from spreading, still managed to smile at me and then replied. “That’s what Diana and I want to hear from you and Dad, Mom. That makes me really happy.”
But then the light that his palm emitted started to flicker. Devon winced, making me worried for my son.
[What’s happening?!]
[The curse is too strong, Mom! I can’t do this alone!]
Your blood can purify the curse.
Without any second thoughts, I sliced my forearm with my claw and let my blood drip on my husband’s wounds. At first, it was crimson red. But as it dripped from my arm, the blood turned liquid gold and helped the healing process grow fast.
But the curse was too strong. It wanted Dominic’s body. And my eyes were starting to go blurry as I started to lose so much blood.
From the forest, we all heard the sound of a trumpet so loud it was heard all over the Black Forest. The shadow werewolves and the Black Claws stopped, trying to anticipate what was coming. They were on full alert as they flinched back to their camp after we all felt that strange force coming towards us.
[Who is it?!] I hissed, putting myself in front of my wounded husband and my child. I was so dizzy I almost fell on my side, but I didn’t let the enemies think that I was growing weak, or my family would be in great danger.
Then, from a distance, I felt the familiar presence that made my eyes widen. A person that I never expected would come to our aid!
[REY!] I exclaimed in surprise. And from the shadow of the trees appeared the Queen’s guard and his pack of Gamma soldiers from the Silver Crescent pack.
[I am sorry I came too late, Lady Samantha. It took me some time to convince the council that you and the Alpha of the Silver Crescent need reinforcement.]
[It doesn’t matter, Rey. You did a good job.] I told him with a relieved smile as I looked down at Dominic and Devon. Both of them relaxed as soon as the Silver Crescent Gamma soldiers started to attack the enemies on sight to protect their Alpha and their Luna.
After seeing that we were safe, my body finally gave up. My knees folded and I fell on the ground. The world started to spin around me, and my eyes rolled to the back of my head, slowly losing consciousness that I was trying to fight because I never wanted to faint while I was completely sure my family was safe and the enemies were driven away from the Wolf Tomb.
All of a sudden, I felt warm. Then I realized I was already in my human form with a blanket wrapped around me.
“My love. My love, please open your eyes!”
It was Dominic’s soft voice that drew me back from the darkness that was trying to eat me. I looked around and saw Devon and Diana beside him with tears drenching their faces. Dominic’s eyes were red, tears brimming in them, and he murmured, “Please don’t you ever scare me like that again.”
For a second, I didn’t understand, but memories of him when I first saw his cold, arrogant face before I ran away from the pack filled my head. Pain started to flood in my chest, and all of a sudden, I was enraged and hurt. The irrational feelings made me wolf in alert, but it was hard to stop. It was so hard not to feel angry and hate him as memories from the past started to put tears in my eyes.
My hands moved on their own and grabbed his hand from my shoulders as I hissed, “Get the f*ck away from me!”
