The Witcher – Uchiha Madara!-Chapter 323 – The Fury of Gaunter O’Dimm.
[Chapter Size: 2200 Words.]
Third Person POV
Everec Manor, Redania.
...
...
Madara returned to the Everec mansion at dawn, after having spent some time meeting with his companions and accompanying Ciri to her bed, telling her he would return later, but that he had important things to take care of.
When he teleported back, he found Olgierd sitting on the bed, with Iris by his side. She looked distressed while he wore an indifferent expression, thinking.
It seemed she still loved him, but that was not important to Madara. As he approached, Olgierd did not even have time to react when Madara simply grabbed him by the neck, lifting him off the ground as if he weighed nothing.
"Well, your time is up. That was all I would give you, as a kind of mercy before your end.", said Madara, tightening his grip on the man's neck, who began to make choking sounds, despite never truly feeling it, after all he was immortal.
"Wait! Please, do not take his soul!", Iris shouted immediately.
Olgierd stared at Madara with a certain fear, even though he could not feel emotions in a common way. The expectation of having his soul stolen did not please him in the slightest.
"Your will does not atone for the crimes he committed his entire life. In the end, this man is nothing but a murderer, a thief who meddles with dark magic", Madara spoke calmly.
Iris stepped back a few paces, in panic.
"No… no… no…", she began to murmur, shaking her head.
"No", she repeated, but her voice began to sound different, more distorted.
"Not again…" The voice grew darker and darker.
"Not this time!", she screamed, lunging at Madara.
He raised the Susanoo, creating a skeletal shield around himself and Olgierd.
Olgierd was surprised to see his dead wife trying to pass through the giant's bones. Her form began to change. Claws emerged, her face became darker, and the aura around her grew heavy and oppressive.
She was transforming into a vengeful spirit, all to protect Olgierd. He watched everything without emotion. He felt neither anger nor pity for her. Even so, he could not help but slightly furrow his brow upon seeing the skeleton. He had seen that entity before, when he was under the genjutsu. Madara had destroyed the gardener, the mansion's protection, as if it were nothing. Olgierd knew very well the power that existed within that skeleton.
And the Susanoo could interfere in the spiritual realm, which is why it could destroy ghosts and evil spirits. After all, the Susanoo is entirely made of spiritual energy.
Iris continued to transform, becoming more and more of a dark creature. She wanted to protect him, even after everything he had done to her.
Madara could understand. If he were in Olgierd's situation, perhaps Ciri would not be so different from that woman.
But that did not stop him from mocking inwardly and deciding to end it quickly.
In the next moment, a shadow emerged from one of the corners of the room. A wooden clone of Madara appeared behind her, making quick hand movements. Fūinjutsu symbols began to spread across the room.
The vengeful spirit was paralyzed.
Suddenly, she began to roar, as if she were feeling pain. The seals started to rise from the floor, wrapping around her body as she struggled to break free.
Olgierd watched it all with surprised eyes.
Madara dispelled the Susanoo and dropped Olgierd to the ground. He fell rolling across the floorboards, slowly lifting his face as he came to a stop.
His eyes widened when he saw, behind Madara, the figure of a giant with a white cloak and a demonic face emerging above him.
He had summoned the Shinigami once again. The entity appeared behind him as the Shinigami approached Olgierd and plunged its hand straight into the middle of his chest, beginning to pull something out from within.
Madara watched as the Shinigami forcibly tore the man's soul out, while Olgierd himself seemed to be in panic, though he could barely react. His soul began to leave his body, wrapped in red threads and strange symbols — marks of Gaunter's demonic contract.
Madara studied those symbols carefully. It was a type of magic different from that of that world, for they were clearly demonic symbols. Perhaps it could be useful, if he could translate them… perhaps even replicate them, as he had done with so many other jutsus.
With a gesture, he ordered the Shinigami to pull the soul out completely. The entity opened its mouth, taking the knife held between its teeth, and brought it to the thread that still connected the soul to the body. With a single movement, it cut it.
The thread split in two.
The soul was completely removed from the body and, even with the strange symbols embedded in it, began to be absorbed, shrinking as the Shinigami placed it into its mouth until it finally swallowed it whole.
"This will certainly draw Gaunter's attention", Madara murmured as he watched the Shinigami's work.
The demon would not be pleased at all to discover that the contract had been altered and that the soul he so desired was no longer under his dominion or in a place he could still claim. If he wanted it back, he would have to come after Madara.
With Olgierd devoured, the final step remained.
Madara knew the Shinigami did nothing for free. He needed to offer his own soul or another, as he had managed to alter the Shinigami's original jutsu.
Iris was innocent… but she was also becoming a vengeful spirit. He already intended to seal her as the price for safeguarding Olgierd's soul and taking it from Gaunter's hands.
His soul had not been sealed — not yet. Because he needed to lure the demon. Now it was in the Shinigami's stomach. So another soul needed to be sealed.
The entity then approached Iris. Without hesitation, it passed its spectral hand through her own body, after all she had no physical body, she was her own spirit, there was no need to cut a thread as it had done with Olgierd. But she too was swallowed.
Unlike Olgierd, Iris was completely sealed within the Shinigami.
Madara was not being merciful, but if he had to choose between Iris's spirit and the life of his wife and the child who had not yet even been born, he would sacrifice Iris without hesitation.
When she was sealed, Madara dispelled the jutsu, dismissing the Shinigami without needing to spend his soul. Only he, his wooden clone, and Olgierd's dead body lying on the floor remained. In the end, he was not so immortal after all.
But they were not the only ones there.
Madara activated the Sharingan and looked toward a corner of the room.
"I know you are watching from there, hiding", he said, his gaze calm.
From the shadows, a cat and a dog emerged, made entirely of darkness — spirits bound to the house, summoned years ago by Olgierd.
"You took milady's soul as well… was that not a little cruel?", the cat asked.
"It was cruel", Madara admitted.
"But necessary. My wife and the child in her womb are in danger. I will do anything to protect them… even devastate entire kingdoms if that means saving them." He showed no remorse whatsoever.
"I see… and what will happen to us? Are you going to kill us?", the cat asked.
"No. I know you are free. Your mistress is no longer here. Even so..." Madara then narrowed his eyes.
Those shadowy creatures, like the gardener, were entities from another dimension. That reminded him of a certain being he had encountered years ago, who had promised to return for revenge.
"Do you know a dimension called the Void? Are you from there?" The question seemed to catch them off guard.
"Not even the one who summoned us knew the name of the place. No one in this world should know it. Humans should not possess that knowledge. How did you find out?", the dog asked, curious.
"Let us say I encountered a creature classified as a 'Vaalth' in your world.", Madara replied.
Finally, he could obtain real information about that entity, rather than merely searching for the portal in forgotten villages.
"Then you met a Lord Vaalth!? They are extremely dangerous creatures in our world! Someone who summons them must be absurdly powerful", the shadow dog commented, frightened.
"In truth, he crossed into this world himself through a fissure in the space between dimensions. That is what he told me. His name was Mor'ghulon, he wanted to turn a fallen army into undead and spread chaos just for amusement. I faced him and killed him… nearly five years ago", Madara said.
The cat and the dog looked at each other.
"The Vaalths stand very high in the hierarchy of our world... but after what we saw today, we believe you. However, if he said he would return for revenge, you should be careful." The cat replied.
"That is why I need your help. Whether you like it or not, I can force you if you refuse. I need to know exactly how to find the portal. For that, I need a bit of your energy. I will use it as a seal to track the portal's magical signature. I can use that as my first clue.", Madara said.
It was not a question.
The two looked at each other again. Could they flee? The answer was no.
Madara formed a few hand seals, and fūinjutsu symbols appeared around them. The creatures trembled, unable to move.
He retrieved from his storage seal a small bottle covered in inscriptions and opened it. He began to siphon the creatures' energy using the seals. Without the Rinnegan, he needed to resort to fūinjutsu to extract energy in that way.
The cat and the dog watched their energies being slowly drained. At a certain moment, Madara tried to penetrate their minds, but failed. They were made purely of energy — it was like trying to manipulate a demon. He still did not possess the power to control that kind of entity.
But he managed to extract their dark energy thanks to his knowledge of necromancy, which had increased greatly over the past months. He had sent clones to various places where there were reports of necromancers and powerful undead, exterminating many of them while they tormented villages. He had also absorbed the knowledge they possessed, searching through their minds and studying their books.
After removing a sufficient amount of energy from the cat and the dog, Madara did not kill them. He simply sealed the bottle again and stored it away before releasing them both.
"Tell anyone in your world that when I find the portal and that Vaalth/Lich insists on entering our world to create chaos again, I will cross the portal. And the one who will bring devastation will be me, in your world", Madara threatened them.
Both seemed to swallow dryly. Realizing they were free, they said nothing. They simply disappeared.
Madara could have stopped them, but there was no reason to hold them any longer. They did not return through the portal to their world, but rather teleported due to the contract they had made with Olgierd.
That made him reflect on the knowledge he had acquired that day. Olgierd possessed interesting books. The mansion was also nothing to scoff at, it just needed renovation and, with no heirs, it would now belong to him.
Madara left some clones to check if there were any more vengeful ghosts hidden there, since Iris's family had been killed in that place — her father by Olgierd himself.
After that, Madara left the place.
The clones would handle cleaning the mansion, renewing the wood, and restoring the environment. Despite the dark energy that still permeated the place, Madara was certain that Ciri would love that space once it was ready.
Then, Madara teleported once more to the temple of Melitele, returning to his wife's room.
Meanwhile, to the north, crossing several mountains and near the Valley of the Dragons, there was a creature hiding within one of the mountains, with demonic energy roaring around it.
He felt it.
One of his contracts had slipped from his control.
How was that possible?
Gaunter could not believe it, but he could sense an unknown creature — even to him — tearing Olgierd's soul away and keeping it trapped, out of Gaunter's own reach.
The one who controlled that strange entity was the same man who had left him in that state, forcing him to recover far from the human world. He did not dare to regenerate in the middle of the continent and risk being found by the very...
Madara Uchiha.
The one who controlled the creature taking the soul of one of his contracts for himself was interfering once again.
Gaunter was furious.
How could he allow that? No, he would not allow it.
An explosion of dark energy tore through the night. Even the dragons, dozens of kilometers away, lifted their heads in surprise.
The energy surged across the skies.
Gaunter was moving.
"Very well… if that is what you want, then an entire continent will suffer, Madara Uchiha", he declared.
At that moment, Madara was with Ciri, completely unaware of the chaos beginning to form in the Valley of the Dragons, before it would spread into the human world.
