The Wicked Female Is Wild and Scheming, Living in a Love Battlefield Every Day-Chapter 450 - 335: The Great Battle Begins (Part 2)
His gaze swept over the Dragon Clan’s ranks, finally settling on the mouth of Pyralia, where Soren Phoenix was muttering with Mael Valerius, and his eyes flickered with gloom.
This unfilial son.
Soren naturally felt his father’s gaze, but he was completely indifferent.
He even provocatively curled his lips, his eyes no longer filled with their usual flirtation, but rather an icy coldness.
Xylon Phoenix saw the provocative look of his son, and his face grew increasingly ugly.
He suppressed the anger in his heart, then transformed into human form and landed, the fiery red feathered robes flapping in the fierce wind.
A few elders also transformed and followed in his wake.
"Brother Hawthorne, such a grand entourage, what brings you here?"
Xylon Phoenix’s gaze finally landed on the enormous golden dragon head of Horace Valerius, and even pulled out a faint smile.
His demeanor was calm, as if facing not a blood enemy’s army, but relatives on an ordinary visit.
"For what purpose?"
Horace Valerius sneered, transformed into human form and landed, his golden beast robes wildly dancing, and threw the piece of beast skin painted with evidence harshly towards Xylon Phoenix’s face, "Look at the good deeds you’ve done."
The beast skin unfolded in the wind, revealing crude yet clear images to all eyes present.
A dying female dragon coughing blood on the bed, looking sorrowful.
Beside her was The Old Phoenix embracing a female from the Cat Clan, reveling in pleasure, and a young female dragon laughing joyfully.
The Phoenix Clan elders saw the contents inside, their expressions all shocked.
Afterwards, their expressions became complex.
Several of the older elders knew some truths from the past; to maintain stability of the Phoenix Clan and to avoid trouble, they wisely chose to play deaf and dumb.
Xylon Phoenix’s façade of composure shattered bit by bit; he snatched the beast skin, fingers pale from the force, "This is false accusation."
He looked up at Horace Valerius, expressing outrage at defamation, "Brother Hawthorne, we have known each other for many years, you should know my character, how could I possibly have harmed Nerida? I love her dearly. Moreover, what can these crude random sketches signify?"
Soren stood in the very back of the Dragon Clan ranks, listening to his father say: How could I possibly have harmed Nerida? I love her dearly.
Instantly disgusted to the point of nausea, he never knew the old bastard was so shameless.
To even say he loved the Matron was despicable.
"Random sketches?"
He resisted the nauseating feeling in his stomach, slowly stepping out from the ranks.
His voice no longer the usual flamboyance, but one of unprecedented coldness, penetrating the deadly confrontation.
He casually walked to Horace Valerius’ side, fingertips toying with a dazzling Illusion Leaf, yet his gaze fixed on Xylon Phoenix, "Does father still remember this? The Illusion Leaf?"
It recorded the evidence, as well as the scene where the old bastard forced the Matron with Phoenix True Fire to let the mistress in.
Last time that Illusion Leaf was part of a trade with the old bastard.
Though the old bastard was probably unaware that he had several copies.
Prepared to use them when the old bastard refused to admit the truth.
Xylon Phoenix’s face drastically changed upon seeing the Illusion Leaf in his hand, blurting out, "I destroyed the Illusion Leaf last time! How can you still have..."
Realizing his mistake mid-sentence, he quickly shut up, glaring at him, wishing he could tear this unfilial son to pieces.
Soren didn’t care about the old bastard’s murderous glare; there was no father-son bond left between them, no sadness to speak of.
The power in his fingertips activated, the Illusion Leaf’s glow surged, projecting a clear scene from within.
In a luxurious bedroom, Nerida weakly reclined on the bed, coughing violently, even coughing out blood, her face pale and furious.
Xylon Phoenix stood impatiently beside her, still embracing a beautiful female from the Cat Clan, coldly watching as Nerida coughed blood on the bed, "You should know that females are precious in the beast world, but for those as top-tier and powerful as us Beastmen, it’s impossible to have only one partner for a lifetime. If you agree to let Theo in, you will still receive the respect you deserve."
"Xylon Phoenix, you heartless beast, I would rather die than let that vile female in."
Nerida kept coughing blood, her angry curses echoed from the Illusion Leaf.
Xylon Phoenix’s face instantly turned livid.
The scene from the Illusion Leaf continued to unfold.
"I, as a princess of the Dragon Clan, married into your house, for you I sought no other Beast Husband, dutifully staying by your side, yet you betray me."
Nerida’s coughed blood stained the white beast skin, she tremblingly pointed at the female from the Cat Clan in Xylon Phoenix’s embrace, "How did you beg to marry me back then, you said you wanted a lifelong love with one partner. I fulfilled that for you, and what about you? Now for this filthy woman..."
"Smack!"
Xylon Phoenix slapped Nerida across the face, Phoenix True Fire flickered in his palm, "Watch your words, Theo is not for you to insult at will."
He didn’t bother with Nerida, whom he’d slapped to the ground, unable to rise, and sneered, "I did say that back then, but I don’t love you anymore, I’ve changed my mind, is there anything wrong with loving Theo?"
Ten-year-old Soren suddenly rushed in from outside the hall, spreading his arms to shield his mother, "Father, don’t!"
The scene abruptly stopped.
Pyralia was deathly silent.
Xylon Phoenix’s face turned livid, knowing there was no turning back now, and suddenly erupted into Fire Phoenix, lunging at Soren, "You unfilial son!"
"Roar—"
Horace Valerius instantly transformed into a golden dragon intercepting, his dragon tail sweeping Xylon Phoenix away dozens of feet, right into The Phoenix Tree Hall.
A shrill scream from Ruby echoed from within The Phoenix Tree Hall.
Soren seized the opportunity to transform into a fiery red phoenix, soaring towards The Phoenix Tree Hall.
As the wings swept over, a dagger with a gleaming light flew directly into The Phoenix Tree Hall.
"Ah!"
Ruby’s scream abruptly stopped, blood spurting from her neck, a dagger stuck in it.
"Ruby."
Xylon Phoenix’s face grew dark as he rushed over, finding Ruby already dead, her eyes unclosed, clearly dying with resentment.
