The Wicked Female Is Wild and Scheming, Living in a Love Battlefield Every Day-Chapter 415 - 316: Mael Valerius’s Madness (Part 2)
So it was all those insane feelings of possessiveness, the growing annoyance and killing intent towards his "brothers"... were they not truly his nature?
Was it this damn insect at work?
He gazed down at his own long but slightly trembling hands.
A massive sense of absurdity and being manipulated overwhelmed him, making it almost impossible for him to stand.
On one side, Soren Phoenix was already dumbfounded, his fiery feather robe forgotten, his almond eyes full of shock and disbelief.
He pointed at Kian Sterling, his voice altered: "Old fox? Is it you? You... you actually tried to kill Malachi Arcanus? And my cousin? Are you fucking crazy?"
Thinking that his cousin was dragged into that godforsaken place because he was trying to save Malachi Arcanus, Soren was so angry his hair stood on end.
He never imagined that Kian Sterling would do such a thing, completely shattering his understanding.
Luna Sutton’s face grew increasingly pale, and her abdomen throbbed dully due to her intense emotions.
She forced herself to suppress the discomfort in her abdomen and turned her gaze to Soren Phoenix, her expression and tone extremely serious: "Soren, you go in too, keep an eye on him, don’t leave his side. If Malachi Arcanus and Mael Valerius aren’t dead, if they fight or kill, you stop them, tell them the truth, just say Kian Sterling’s mind was eroded by Demon Gu. But if..."
Her eyes flashed coldly, "If inside, Kian Sterling still dares to do anything, has any ill intentions towards any of you, don’t show mercy, remember to save your own life first."
Kian Sterling has been thoroughly influenced and controlled by the Demon Gu, and before he is completely purified, he might do anything.
She didn’t want anything to happen to any of them.
Soren Phoenix immediately understood Luna Sutton’s intention, knowing she didn’t trust the old fox, so she wanted him to watch.
He put away his usual carefree attitude, his almond eyes swept over her high belly, and he frowned, "But if I go in, what about you?"
He wasn’t unwilling to go in and watch the old fox, he just wasn’t assured leaving Luna here alone.
"I’ll be fine, Caelan Phoenix and Lian Phoenix will soon find their way here, plus I have the Wood Element Ability, nothing will happen."
She lowered her eyes on her belly, full of tenderness, she must persevere for the child.
Soren Phoenix frowned at her, although somewhat reluctantly, he couldn’t defy her.
Countless warnings, afraid something might happen to her, making Luna Sutton caught between tears and laughter.
"Little Luna, just sit on this rock and don’t move, I’ll have the Fire-Feathered Bird watch over you."
Soren Phoenix formed a cluster of Phoenix Fire at his fingertip, which turned into three palm-sized firebirds circling around her, "If you dare to run around, I will—"
"What will you do?"
Luna Sutton raised an eyebrow at him.
Soren Phoenix suddenly leaned in, gritting his teeth at her ear: "I will tell all the little ones that their mother is a disobedient bad female."
"Childish."
She laughed, pushing him, but when touching the worry in Soren Phoenix’s eyes, her heart softened, "Go on, I promise not to run around."
Soren Phoenix chuckled lightly, then without further ado, transformed into a Fire Phoenix and soared towards the abyss entrance with Kian Sterling.
Just as their figures entered The Endless Abyss, Kian Sterling suddenly turned back.
In the moonlight, his tails were as white as snow, and a wave of emotions Luna Sutton couldn’t comprehend surged in his fox eyes: "Luna, if I bring them back unharmed, could you forgive me, or give me a chance to make amends?"
He was truly afraid, afraid that Luna would despise him for this and abandon him.
Luna Sutton looked at him, her expression extremely complex.
She didn’t answer immediately but deeply gazed into Kian Sterling’s eyes, as if trying to peer into his soul.
Kian Sterling felt a rush of panic under her gaze, but didn’t dare to look away, so he fixedly returned her stare, waiting for her answer.
After a long time.
She finally opened her mouth, her voice carrying an inexplicable emotion: "Kian Sterling, bring them out first, then we can talk."
She couldn’t promise she would forgive him, after all, his mistakes were too grave.
However, she didn’t want to put any pressure on him at this moment either.
Kian Sterling didn’t get the answer he wanted, and a trace of disappointment flashed in his eyes.
But he quickly hid it.
He gave Luna Sutton a deep look, then turned and leaped into The Endless Abyss, disappearing into that thick darkness.
The moment his figure vanished, the mountain wind brought an almost inaudible sigh from him.
Her expression grew more complicated, as she turned and sat on a nearby rock.
Looking up at the bright moon in the sky, silently praying for their safe return.
...
At the bottom of The Endless Abyss.
Heat, suffocation, and the aura of destruction were omnipresent.
Malachi Arcanus was hanging on the branch of a withered giant tree, beneath him a boiling pool of molten magma, the scorching heat waves curling and charring his fur.
His eyes were fixed on the terrifying battle in the magma pool below.
The massive dragon head of the Abyssal Flame Turtle bellowed a roar that shattered eardrums, its thick snake tail stirring a tidal wave of magma, fiercely whipping towards the Torch Dragon floating in the lava.
Mael Valerius’ dragon scales peeled off in large patches, revealing the charred flesh underneath, every tail swipe brought a rain of fire, the dragon’s roar filled with ferocity and pain.
The scorching magma, each inch of fallen dragon scales, and the Abyssal Flame Turtle’s attacks left him in agony.
Yet he fought tirelessly, matching the opponent.
The Abyssal Flame Turtle was not only a Primordial Behemoth, but also incredibly powerful, at the terrifying twelfth tier, a whole three tiers higher than him.
If not for his formidable body and his identity as a Torch Dragon, he might have already lost his Dragon Essence to the beast.
Once his Dragon Essence was consumed, he would completely become sustenance for this beast, with no chance for reincarnation.
Thinking he might truly perish here, Mael Valerius couldn’t help but feel panic; he was unwilling to die just yet.
He hadn’t retrieved his lost memories, hadn’t received her forgiveness.
He didn’t want to die.
"Mad Dragon, hold on!"
Malachi Arcanus shouted, his voice cracking in the heat.
He watched helplessly as Mael Valerius and the Abyssal Flame Turtle fought to the death in the magma, powerless.
The helplessness and despair made him both agonized and angry.
Just then, a shadow rushed skyward from the magma, it was Mael Valerius giving it his all.
His dragon body coiled, eventually clamping down on the Abyssal Flame Turtle’s neck with his jaws, his sharp claws furiously clutching at the opponent’s eyes.
The Abyssal Flame Turtle writhed madly in pain, the boiling magma splattering, as if the entire abyss would be overturned.
Mael Valerius seemed to fight without regard for his life, biting stubbornly, head smashed and bloodied, dragon scales scattering, yet he didn’t let go.
The desperation shocked Malachi Arcanus.
He seized the moment.
Suddenly leaping from the dead branch, diving towards the blistering magma, his body landing on the Abyssal Flame Turtle’s back, his claws tearing at the softer underbelly.
But the Abyssal Flame Turtle’s tail whipped faster than lightning, striking him squarely on the back with a crack, sending him flying into the depths of the magma pool.
Mael Valerius scoffed at the foolish wolf’s actions; doesn’t he know his own limits?
Rushing in to die, now he was probably flung into some corner or cranny, uncertain if he was still alive.
He wanted to retrieve him, but couldn’t break free, instead being tossed to dizziness by the immense struggle of the Abyssal Flame Turtle’s thrashing.
He clamped down firmly on the turtle’s neck, his sharp teeth piercing deep, tasting the sweet metallic blood.
That was the Abyssal Flame Turtle’s blood, carrying the ancient aura of antiquity, capable of scorching the very soul.
Mael Valerius, filled with brutality, proceeded to drain every drop of blood from the Abyssal Flame Turtle.
He seemed utterly incensed like a wild beast, biting and devouring without restraint, until he’d swallowed the entire Abyssal Flame Turtle.
Only a blood-soaked pile of bones remained in the magma.
