The Wicked Female Is Wild and Scheming, Living in a Love Battlefield Every Day-Chapter 409 - 313: Demon Gu (Part 2)
"Why would I scan him? He’s not my host."
The system complained, "Moreover, the Demon Gu within Kian Sterling has completely fused with his Ten-Tailed Celestial Fox bloodline. Unless he realizes the problem himself, it’s impossible to remove, and no one else can discover it."
"Ugh..."
In the end, she couldn’t hold it back, bending over and retching, tears streaming so heavily that she could hardly see anything.
Soren Phoenix heard the commotion inside and quickly came over, just in time to see this scene.
"Luna?"
Soren’s heart tightened, his fiery feather robe flickered as he dashed into the room, leaning beside her with his peach blossom eyes full of worry, "What’s wrong? Are you feeling unwell? Is the baby in your belly bothering you?"
He patted her back while frantically searching for water.
"I’m fine, I just suddenly felt nauseous."
Luna Sutton wiped her tears messily, forcing out a smile uglier than crying.
She had just taken the warm water Soren handed her.
Soon, hurried footsteps echoed from the courtyard.
"Rhys Blackwood, Zeke Veridian, something happened!"
Yuri Ashwood rushed into the courtyard, covered in blood, his voice hoarse beyond recognition.
Behind him were several other disheveled Wolf Clan Beastmen, all dirty and bloody.
Zeke leaped down from the second floor, landing directly in front of Yuri: "Explain, what happened?"
"We were hunting in Grolnok today and first encountered a Tyrannosaur. Malachi Arcanus told us to retreat while he dealt with a Mammoth. Immediately afterward, seven or eight Mammoths, and several Saber-toothed Tigers appeared. We don’t know Malachi’s situation, but it’s likely bad. Our strength was too weak to help, so we hurried back for reinforcements." 𝚏𝐫𝚎𝗲𝕨𝐞𝐛𝕟𝚘𝐯𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝗺
Rhys Blackwood emerged from the kitchen, holding a steaming bowl of chicken soup, his face changed at the words.
He placed the chicken soup on the Eight Immortals Table in the hall.
In a flash, he transformed into his Aethel Serpent True Form and flew away.
He was clearly in a hurry to rescue them.
Zeke also realized the urgency of the situation and didn’t question further. He turned his head towards the master bedroom and shouted: "Peacock Phoenix, take care of Luna. We are going to rescue them."
As he spoke, he transformed into a Celestial Moon-chaser Wolf and disappeared into the courtyard.
His speed was so fast that Soren and Luna Sutton, who had just come out, couldn’t respond in time.
Soren’s peach blossom eyes narrowed instantly.
Though he didn’t know much about The Lower Domain, he knew Tyrannosaurs, Mammoths, and Saber-toothed Tigers shouldn’t appear in Grolnok.
Otherwise, Malachi wouldn’t have knowingly led the Beastmen there if it were dangerous.
Encountering one or two by chance is an accident, but if a whole group appears, and they are all ancient beasts,
Then ten times out of nine, it’s man-made.
If his guess was correct, those ancient beasts were deliberately lured to Grolnok to kill Malachi.
Who could it be? Who would hate Malachi so much?
That guy with a straightforward nature gets along well with everyone around him, never heard of having enemies?
Soren looked at Yuri Ashwood still in the courtyard, frowning: "Since when did Grolnok become a den for fierce beasts? Did you notice anything suspicious?"
Yuri wiped the blood off his face, shook his head, and said: "It was so sudden, we encountered a Tyrannosaur right upon arrival. That beast acted like it was crazed with hunger, pouncing on anyone it saw."
Luna already knew through the system that Malachi and Mael Valerius were sealed underground in The Endless Abyss by Kian Sterling.
Even if Rhys Blackwood and Zeke hurried over, it would be hard to find them.
Unless they find the entrance leading to The Endless Abyss again.
Her gaze was directed at Soren, "Take me to Grolnok now."
Jago could take her, but not as fast as Soren flying.
Soren’s eyes instantly dropped to her swollen belly, about to say something.
Kian Sterling suddenly returned, gracefully entering in a white fox fur coat, with ten tails elegantly swaying behind him.
He was holding a bamboo basket filled with fresh berries,
Looking at the disheveled Yuri and the other Beastmen, his face showed appropriate surprise: "What’s going on?"
He quickly stepped forward, casually placed the basket on the stone table in the courtyard, and saw Luna’s pale face, her eyes fixed on him.
His beautiful fox eyes briefly flashed with well-timed concern and confusion, his gentle voice tinged with worry: "Luna? Are you feeling unwell? I just picked some of your favorite berries, they’re already washed, have a taste."
He naturally picked out a shiny red berry from the basket, approached her with a smile.
Seemed perfectly like a caring Beast Husband attending to his partner.
As he neared, Luna instinctively retreated, her vision blurred again with tears.
She glared at Kian Sterling’s still charming and gentle face.
This very face, this very voice, had just in Grolnok, personally pushed Malachi into the abyss, burying Mael Valerius who came to the rescue along.
Beneath that gentle façade lay the extreme madness fueled by Demon Gu, aiming to eliminate all obstacles to possess her solely.
Hate!
An unprecedented cold hatred entwined her heart like a venomous snake, leaving her nearly breathless.
For a moment, she wanted to kill him, to avenge Malachi.
This thought burned like fierce fire, consuming her sanity.
Her fingertips tightened uncontrollably, nails biting deeply into her palm, the sharp pain barely suppressing the urge to tear him apart.
Not now, not yet.
Kian Sterling feigned too well; Corbin, Rhys, Zeke, Soren, they wouldn’t believe.
Even her father wouldn’t believe, might even think she’s gone mad.
Moreover... Malachi and Mael Valerius in the abyss...
The system said their life signs are rapidly declining but not extinguished yet.
There’s yet a glimmer of hope.
Though her reaction was a bit odd, Soren, Yuri, and the others didn’t think much of it, merely assuming she was panicking upon hearing news of Malachi, currently at a loss.
Three furry wolf pups chased each other into the courtyard, followed by eight small snakes slithering agilely, hissing softly.
The largest, Kael, bolted to Luna’s leg like a cannonball, snuggling her calf with wet eyes full of affection.
Kian Sterling’s smile deepened as he naturally bent down, extended his slender fingers, and gently stroked Kael’s head.
He smoothly caressed a small snake coiling around his ankle, feeling its cool body.
"Run slower, don’t bump into your mother."
His voice was tender enough to drip water, completely concealing the terrifying darkness behind that gentle mask.
Luna suppressed the turmoil inside, clutching her hand so tightly that her knuckles turned white.
Watching Kian Sterling play with the cubs, she couldn’t help feeling a chill rising from her feet.
What depth of scheming could allow such calmness after killing, as if nothing had happened?
"I’m going to Grolnok."
She suddenly spoke, her voice hoarse beyond belief.
Kian’s fingers stilled slightly, lifting his eyes, a hint of gloom flashed, quickly replaced by warmth: "Luna, why go to Grolnok? You’re still pregnant..."
His face showed appropriate confusion as though he genuinely didn’t know anything.
"Malachi’s in trouble at Grolnok, heard he’s attacked by Mammoths, Tyrannosaurs, even Saber-toothed Tigers, I have to save him."
Luna interrupted him, turning around to leave the courtyard, "Soren will take me. I know my limits and won’t risk the baby."
She suddenly looked up at Kian, her voice laden with implication: "As the child inside could be Malachi’s, even if he can’t be saved, I’ll try to preserve his last bloodline."
