Chapter 358: Chapter 282: Amnesia (Part 2)

You’re asking him who he is? Where is this place?

Because of Corbin Crowley’s prior warning, he didn’t dare speak randomly, only answering: "This is Aerock in The Lower Domain..."

"The Lower Domain?"

Mael Valerius’ brows furrowed into a dead knot, his expression growing more perplexed, "How did I end up in this godforsaken place?"

In his memory, The Lower Domain is a desolate corner of the world, with scarce Spiritual Energy, limited resources, and filled with fierce beasts.

No Beastman is willing to go there.

At least in Aetheria, no Beastman would want to come here.

Finn Arcanus’s mouth twitched, internally he couldn’t help but snark: This crazy dragon loses his memory and still brings his own regional discrimination? No wonder he’d get beaten into amnesia by Corbin and the others.

He didn’t know it was due to the Memory Cutting Knife, only assuming it was the result of a beating by Corbin and the others.

He couldn’t help but taunt out loud: "That’s right, that’s right, our Lower Domain certainly can’t compare to the bird singing and flower scent, the picturesque mountains and rivers, and the rich Spiritual Energy resources of Aetheria, so please don’t come again."

Mael Valerius was irritated by Finn Arcanus’s words, just about to burst out.

Footsteps suddenly echoed from deep within the mine shaft.

Corbin Crowley emerged with cold silver eyes, followed by Rhys Blackwood and others.

"Oh my... isn’t this Aetheria’s esteemed guest?"

Kian Sterling’s ten tails swayed lightly, his smile layered with meaning, "What, lost your way?"

Mael Valerius stared at these strange yet inexplicably familiar Beastmen, and the partner mark on his chest suddenly throbbed with heat.

He turned abruptly to look at Luna Sutton, protected behind Rhys Blackwood, his heart felt as if struck by a heavy hammer.

It’s her.

Despite having no memory, his body reacted first.

He clutched his chest, his voice hoarse: "Who... are you?"

Luna Sutton’s breath hitched, momentarily forgetting to react, just staring.

His eyes... unfamiliar and cold.

No hatred, no disdain, nor the deep affection of before.

Like looking at a stranger he’d never seen, full of confusion.

She opened her mouth but couldn’t make a sound.

Zeke Veridian imperceptibly stepped in front of her, scoffing coldly: "None of your damn business."

"Get out of the way!"

Mael Valerius swept a cold glance, dark golden eyes swirling with hostility.

He ignored Zeke Veridian.

He stared intently at Luna Sutton, approaching step by step, "Why does my chest have your partner mark?"

Soren Phoenix flared his Fiery Red Feather Robe, blocking the way: "Calm down, cousin..."

Mael Valerius finally noticed Soren Phoenix, others he couldn’t recall, but Soren he remembered.

His aunt’s son, Young Master of The Phoenix Clan, also his cousin.

His dark golden eyes fixed on Soren Phoenix, frowning as he asked: "Why did you come to this godforsaken place too?"

Soren Phoenix almost burst into laughter, lightly coughing twice before saying: "Cousin, what are you talking about? You can come here, but I can’t?"

"Cut the crap."

Mael Valerius impatiently interrupted, pointing at his chest, "What exactly is going on? When did I mate with a female from The Lower Domain?"

Luna Sutton’s palm unconsciously clenched, she lowered her eyes and remained silent.

Soren Phoenix glanced at the silent Luna Sutton, eyes shifting, then suddenly clapped: "Oh yes! Cousin, you forgot? Last month you got drunk and insisted on dragging her to mate, couldn’t be stopped!"

"Bullshit!"

Mael Valerius exploded in rage, "Would the Young Master take a fancy to someone like this—"

The sentence stuck in his throat.

He stared at Luna Sutton’s pale face, his heart inexplicably throbbing with pain.

The feeling was strange, full of love, hate, disdain...

In short, all sorts of feelings were there, he couldn’t describe it.

Somehow, he felt he must have experienced something with this female.

But he was reluctant to believe it.

Corbin Crowley’s silver eyes shot toward Mael Valerius, his voice carrying a warning: "Choose your words carefully, or don’t blame me for slicing your tongue."

"By you?"

Mael Valerius’s lips curled in mockery, about to erupt.

Soren Phoenix hastily mediated: "Cousin, you even said that you wouldn’t marry anyone else and burned the marriage contract!"

He said this while secretly winking at Luna Sutton.

Mael Valerius’s face turned ashen: "What I burned was the marriage contract to your sister."

"Exactly!"

Soren Phoenix held back laughter and continued to fabricate: "You burned the contract with my sister, got punished by your uncle to kneel at the ancestral hall, later managed to flee to The Lower Domain, wandered for a long time, not daring to return. You said you were going to find a female, consummate the marriage and bring her back to anger uncle and those old folks in The Dragon Clan, so you chose young Luna. Just happened that night you drank a lot, and forced her to mate, I couldn’t stop you."

Mael Valerius’s expression fluctuated after hearing Soren Phoenix’s words.

He lowered his head, glanced at the partner mark on his chest, and looked up again at Luna Sutton, trying to find flaws in her face.

Yet she kept her eyes lowered, her long lashes casting a shadow on her pale face, like a lifeless ceramic doll.

For a moment, he couldn’t assess the truth of Soren’s words.

It was entirely possible for him to do such a thing during a bout of insanity.

Mael Valerius stared at Luna Sutton’s downcast side profile, his heart suddenly throbbed painfully.

Instinctively, he pressed against his chest, his fingertips almost digging into his flesh.

"Since we’ve mated..."

His voice was hoarse, "The Young Master will take responsibility."

"No need."

Luna Sutton suddenly lifted her head, her expression colder than ever: "Who cares about your responsibility?"

Mael Valerius was momentarily stunned by her unexpected coldness, his expression somewhat bewildered.

In his memory, no female had ever treated him like this, especially not a female from The Lower Domain.

"What did you say?" 𝘧𝓇𝑒𝑒𝑤ℯ𝑏𝓃𝘰𝑣ℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮

His voice was terrifyingly low, his dragon’s might unconsciously emanating.

Corbin Crowley’s silver eyes were chillingly cold, his lips curving into a mocking arc: "Don’t understand human words? She said there’s no need."

Mael Valerius was enraged by the sudden hostility, his dragon’s might exploding: "I’m talking to her, is it your place to interrupt?"

Rhys Blackwood silently pulled Luna Sutton behind him, his dark eyes landing on Mael Valerius, extremely cold: "Step forward one more time, we won’t mind making you lie down again."

The atmosphere was tense and ready to erupt.

Mael Valerius seemed to understand something, realizing his injuries were likely caused by these Beastmen.

As for why things escalated, that wasn’t clear.

But there was an underlying sense that it was related to this female named Luna Sutton.

He gazed at Soren Phoenix and asked directly: "Cousin, tell me the reason and the consequences, why would I drag her to mate and then want to kill her? Are my wounds related to them?"

Soren Phoenix was momentarily stumped, unsure how to respond.
