The Wicked Female Is Wild and Scheming, Living in a Love Battlefield Every Day-Chapter 355 - 281: Why Are You Crying?
Luna Sutton followed everyone back to the mine in silence.
Corbin Crowley’s silver eyes glanced at her pale face, a flash of tenderness in his gaze, as he gently tucked a stray lock of hair behind her ear and spoke softly, "Still thinking about The Mad Dragon?"
She looked up at him and forced a smile, "No."
"Liar."
Zeke Veridian walked up, his voice cool, his emerald eyes fixed on her, "You’re even staggering as you walk."
Luna Sutton pressed her lips together, no longer defending herself.
Kian Sterling chuckled lightly, his ten tails swaying slowly, speaking lazily, "If Luna couldn’t bear it, she should have killed him straight away to avoid future trouble."
In her heart, she truly thought so: killing him would have solved everything, saving Mael Valerius from thinking about future troubles and sparing Luna from holding onto...
"Kian!"
Rhys Blackwood coldly warned.
Kian Sterling smiled slightly, knowing Luna couldn’t bear it, and said no more.
This great commotion, caused by the Beastmen who came to Aerock to mine, was known to all who should be aware.
When the group returned to the mine, everyone’s eyes intentionally or unintentionally fell on her, their expressions strange.
Yet no one showed any signs of rejection or treated her like a monster.
Compared to the once loathed Luna Sutton, this current version was much more likable and knowledgeable.
Though she once brought disaster to The Wolf Tribe, she also led them to become better than ever before.
Their lives had vastly improved, food was more plentiful.
Soon, they would live in homes they once dared not dream of.
They were about to craft strong and sharp weapons.
They truly liked this present Luna Sutton and sincerely accepted her, regardless of who she once was or where she came from.
In the end, she was Luna Sutton, and Luna Sutton was she.
However, if the Clan Leader learned the truth, he might not accept it. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶
Who could bear to know that their own daughter’s body was occupied by a wandering spirit, even if that daughter was barely tolerated and loathed by the beastmen?
What they could think of, Corbin Crowley, Rhys Blackwood, Kian Sterling, Zeke Veridian, Malachi Arcanus, and Soren Phoenix could naturally also think of.
Corbin Crowley’s silver eyes swept coldly over the Beastmen at the mine, his voice icy, "If anyone dares to reveal half a word of today’s events—"
An ice shard at his fingertip instantly pierced a nearby boulder, which exploded loudly.
Finn Arcanus and Yuri Ashwood exchanged glances, immediately kneeling on one knee, their right hands pressing against their left chest, and they solemnly declared:
"I, Finn Arcanus, swear in the name of The Beast God, to never reveal a single detail, otherwise I shall become an ordinary beast, torn apart and killed by the myriad beasts."
"I, Yuri Ashwood, swear in the name of The Beast God, to also never reveal a single word, otherwise my soul shall scatter."
The other Beastmen seeing this followed suit, kneeling and swearing.
Luna Sutton watched this scene, her heart filled with indescribable emotion.
She was neither considered a freak nor burned as a demon, everyone didn’t reject or abhor her, but instead sincerely accepted and earnestly swore.
She felt all that she had done was worthwhile.
Her throat felt like it was stuffed with soaked cotton, sour and astringent, unable to utter a single word, only a muffled choking remained.
Suddenly she turned and ran deep into the mine, her beast skin boots grinding against the fragmented stone beneath with a rhythmic sound.
"Luna!"
"Little Luna."
"Little Luna~"
Corbin Crowley, Zeke Veridian, Malachi Arcanus, and Soren Phoenix worriedly wanted to go after her.
Yet Rhys Blackwood raised his hand to stop everyone from pursuing, his dark eyes deep, "Let her have a good cry."
Kian Sterling gazed towards the mine’s direction, his expression complex, sighed softly, "It’s better to cry it out than to keep it bottled up inside."
Deep in the mine, Luna Sutton curled in a corner by the stone wall, oblivious to the beast skin skirt smudged with rubble.
She bit down hard on her hand, tears rolling like beads falling off a broken string.
So, this was what it felt like to be hated and abhorred by those close, truly more painful than having her heart gouged out.
Outside the cave, a bamboo fragrance wafted, Zeke Veridian leaned in the shadow of the rock wall, a dry leaf between his fingers that soon turned to powder.
Listening to the suppressed sobs inside the cave, his heart ached in rhythm, his emerald eyes darkened, finally stepping inside.
Luna Sutton hurriedly wiped her face, looking up to meet a pair of clear green eyes.
Zeke Veridian looked down at her from above, suddenly knelt halfway, his cold fingertips gently wiping away her tears, "Why are you crying?"
"I..."
"You look awful when you cry."
Although he spoke disdainfully, his actions were extraordinarily gentle, taking out a clean beast skin cloth to softly wipe away her tears, "That Mad Dragon is not worth it."
Luna Sutton just stared blankly at him as he wiped her tears, forgetting to cry, instead inexplicably wanting to laugh.
