Chapter 19: Chapter 19: Intentionally Disgusting Him

The two of them didn’t delay any further.

Corbin Crowley found a hidden cave nearby and dragged the prey over to hide it, disguising the entrance.

To prevent other wild animals from finding and eating it.

Luna Sutton left her seven or eight baskets in the original place, as there was no other beastman who would want them besides her.

Chloe Callahan, the time-traveler, and Pearl Vance, the reborn one, weren’t here either, so it was unlikely they would come to take them.

But just to prevent them from being destroyed by wild animals, she made some simple protective measures around them and covered the baskets with wild grass.

"Done yet? Stop dawdling."

Corbin Crowley, seeing her treat those random things like treasures, was impatient and urged coldly.

With those words, he transformed into a tall, silver-white wolf, with a pair of sharp, silver eyes, looking magnificent and extremely commanding.

"Done, jeez, stop rushing..."

Luna Sutton grumbled unhappily, slinging an empty basket on her back and climbing onto his back to sit.

"Hold on tight, if you fall off and die, it’s not my problem."

Corbin Crowley sneered coldly, carrying her as he swiftly sprinted towards Adamantus.

She was really afraid this dog of a man would deliberately throw her off, initially wanting to hold onto his neck, but remembering how much he disliked her, she didn’t dare.

So she just held onto his back fur with both hands to prevent herself from falling.

The Silver-moon Grey Wolf was incredibly fast, even with someone on his back, his speed barely decreased.

The wind roared by her ears, stinging her face slightly.

She couldn’t help but squint her eyes, only thinking that the scenery of this primitive forest was quite nice, all green as far as the eye could see.

Almost like a sea of green.

She wasn’t sure if Corbin Crowley was doing it on purpose; during the run, he deliberately jolted her, making her nearly fall off several times, but luckily she managed to grab onto his back fur in time.

Luna Sutton’s face turned a bit sour, honestly believing this dog of a man was doing it on purpose.

She wised up too; every time Corbin Crowley jolted her on purpose, she’d hang onto his neck, practically wrapping herself around him, disgusting him immensely.

Corbin Crowley was indeed disgusted.

Especially since this ugly brute only wore a grass skirt, with just a few leaves between her butt and his back.

With every jolt, those pieces of flesh squished against his back, dangling down due to their plumpness, resting on his belly.

Utterly disgusting, sending a shiver down his spine, he just wanted to shake this ugly brute off.

Yet this ugly brute clung to him like an octopus, impossible to shake off.

Corbin Crowley’s face was as black as the bottom of a pot, inwardly cursing this ugly brute hundreds of times, unconsciously slowing down his speed.

He dared not jolt her deliberately anymore, finding it too revolting.

Luna Sutton noticed his speed slowing down significantly, and snorted inwardly, knowing she had disgusted him, her lips quirking slightly.

That’s what he got for always disdaining and jolting her; it was karma.

But she also knew when to stop and refrained from clinging further, settling down properly.

After all, he was her target to pursue, and she couldn’t genuinely anger him.

Seeing her no longer clinging to him, Corbin Crowley internally sighed in relief, focusing on the way ahead.

After some time, they reached the foot of a mountain.

"We’re here, get down."

He stopped, speaking in a cold tone.

Luna Sutton dismounted and looked at the mountain before her.

A majestic mountain stretched out endlessly before her eyes.

The mountain was lush, trees mingled with various oddly shaped huge rocks, looking very peculiar.

"Is this the Adamantus you mentioned?"

She asked in a low voice.

Corbin Crowley cast her a glance with his silver eyes and faintly uttered "Mm" as a response.

With a flash of white light, he returned to human form and started walking up the mountain without waiting for her.

Seeing this, Luna Sutton quickly followed.

She surveyed the surroundings as she walked, seeing various stones of all shapes and sizes—square, round, sharp, flat, rectangular, or irregular.

She even spotted a few wild scallions growing in the crevices between stones, feeling a flicker of joy, and quickly went over to pull them up.

Wild scallions could remove odors, were great for frying dishes or cooking noodles, and could be used as seasonings.

In the post-apocalyptic world, she always liked adding extra scallions when eating noodles; the taste was simply amazing.

Even without meat, she could finish it all.

Corbin Crowley noticed her actions, his eyes filled with confusion.

Why bother pulling out this smelly grass? This stuff had such a strong smell, hardly any beastman liked it.

He wanted to ask her what she was doing, but he was too lazy to talk to her, so he held back.

Luna Sutton, unaware of his thoughts, placed the wild scallions in the basket on her back and began looking for a stone pot and a millstone.

The millstone would be used to grind flour or soybeans.

Though there was no flour or soybean now, the beast world was rich in resources, with treasures all over the mountains.

One day, she’d find them.

After searching for a while, she finally found a reasonably suitable stone pot.

It resembled a mortar with a hollow center and a bottom that sloped inward, looking like a big pot.

The inside was polished very smoothly, appearing as if it was man-made.

This was practically a natural stone pot.

Luna Sutton was thrilled; with this pot, she could cook food.

Especially meat; stewing it in this pot and adding some seasoning would make it incredibly delicious.

The very thought made her mouth water.

She reached out to stroke the inside of the pot, finding it very smooth without any roughness, and it wasn’t that thick either, which pleased her even more.

With this pot, she could improve her meals.

Although she was on a diet, that didn’t mean she didn’t want to eat delicious food.

Corbin Crowley saw her grinning foolishly at a sunken stone and knew that was the stone pot she wanted.

But how was she going to take it back, given how heavy it was?

He could forget about asking him for help; he wasn’t going to agree.

Luna Sutton wasn’t in a hurry to bring the stone pot back, instead wanting to look for a millstone.

Though she didn’t find a millstone, she did spot a relatively flat stone not too far away, with a smooth surface and a thickness roughly the width of two stacked fingers.

She was inspired; this stone was quite good. If a beastman polished it later, it could be used for stone grilling, which sounded great.

She laboriously dragged this stone over to the stone pot.

Then she continued searching and found a smaller stone nearby, with a shape quite like a mortar.

It could be used to crush items like garlic, chilies, and various seasonings.

Her eyes lit up; she promptly ran over, picked it up, and placed it into her basket.

This stone was small and not very heavy, so she wasn’t worried about damaging her basket.

She picked up some other stones of various shapes—some resembling plates, some bowls, and even a stone knife...

Essentially, she took anything she found useful.

Corbin Crowley saw her putting these odd stones into her basket, looking incredulous.

Had this ugly brute gone crazy?

But he couldn’t be bothered thinking about it; after all, this ugly brute was a weirdo, impossible to judge by normal standards.

Luna Sutton ignored the dog man’s look of disdain, continuing her search.

In the end, she selected a big, round stone as the upper part of the millstone, intending to search for the base later.

These stones were especially large and heavy; besides the small ones in the basket, she couldn’t move the pot or this one at all.

Let alone take them back.
