The Werewolf King's Bride-Chapter 565: Creepy
(From Blue’s Perspective)
"Do you want to take a walk together?"
"Ah, I would love to, but I am on my way to the magic tower," I said.
Evelyn frowned. "Is it an emergency?"
"Not exactly."
"Then, come on. We will talk a little and walk. It has been a while since we got some time together," Evelyn said.
"Alright, a little walk won’t hurt," I said.
Evelyn was a graceful woman. She looked very powerful and confident. She and her mother shared the same red hair; the red hair seemed to enhance her fierceness. Dem and she had a similar kind of personality, not from every aspect though.
"Seeing your little son makes me want to have a kid myself. But both Merrick and Ava are against it. Merrick thinks it will be a selfish move as we won’t be able to care for a child fine enough while traveling and Ava merely doesn’t want to have a sibling. She is old enough, so we asked for her opinion," she said.

She poked Dion’s chubby cheek who stared at her and then looked back at me before hiding his face in my chest.
"Oh? He used to come to me before," she said.
Now, Dion recognized people little by little and did not go to others as easily as before. Doctor Dimitri said it was also because he developed the sense of smell as he was partly a werewolf. At this age, children like Dion liked to stay near the people they saw every moment.
"Our Ava was more social at this age. It’s true, then, as they say, that all kids are different," she chuckled.
"He doesn’t really go to many people other than Dem, me, and a few others, like Perita as she is always near, and Luc and Ruby. Since Luc and Ruby sometimes babysit him, he is comfortable with them," I said. "He is a little reluctant to go to people he doesn’t meet regularly."
"That’s to be expected, I suppose. He is a little smaller than werewolf children at six months. It’s interesting. I really wish I could know how much different he is from other werewolf children since he is half-human," she said. "Don’t misunderstand. I love this little thing.
I just am really interested in him, just as I am in you."
"In me?"
"You are a human and also my brother’s wife. Naturally, I was interested. But my brother is so possessive that it’s honestly really hard to get a chance to get close to you. That pain in the ass won’t even let me meet you as much as I wanted!"
"Really? Did you try to before?" I asked.
"Course I did!" she exclaimed.
She took a few breaths and fixed her facial expression. "Anyway, my brother is a piece of shit. I have no idea how such a sweet woman like you even gets along with him."
"He is not bad, Evelyn. He just has a hard time opening up."
"It’s more like he doesn’t want to open up."
"That’s not wrong. He simply doesn’t like to get close to people. There are many people like that," I said. "But you know, when he opens up, he is actually fun to be with."
"Only you will say that," she said. "That said, I have seen a mark on your back the other day when you wore a backless dress. It’s like a snake, isn’t it? Is it like a temporary mark? Cause it was really cool. I loved it."
Evelyn was a cunning woman. All of Dem’s family members were like that. Some of them might look innocent, but they were the opposite. If Evelyn was asking me it, it meant she did enough research and tried to find out about it as much as possible before she decided to ask me.
Well, it was not like I was trying to hide the mark. There was no point. It was better to show it myself rather than people finding out randomly by a rumor.
"No, it’s not temporary. It’s permanent," I said.
"It kind of looks familiar," she said.
"It should not, unless you are very much interested in a particular type of thing."
"What particular thing exactly?"
"You would know that better, Evelyn, since the mark looks rather familiar to you," I smiled.
She suddenly touched my face with her palm and brought her face really close to mine. I was truly surprised.
"You are not so innocent as before, are you, my dear sister-in-law?"
I pushed her away by her shoulders and took a step back. "I was never innocent, Evelyn. Just a little afraid at first, but I don’t think that part of me is there anymore," I smiled.
Yes, I was still a little afraid. I could not change all of myself. I did not have any intention to do so as well. I did not want to forget who I had been and who I truly was.
’Afraid of what?’ a voice asked.
’Everything. Love. Betrayal. Family. Loss. Everything, just everything.’
"I will find out about it, Blue, sooner or later."
"Good luck with that," I gave her another smile.
"We, Eastons, are rather persistent, you know that? You should know it as you are with an Easton. I love finding out about something, Blue. There is something about mysteries that fascinate me."
"That’s a good thing, however, I should inform you that it is no secret. This mark of mine doesn’t have any story related to it that I would rather keep hidden. If I wanted to, I would have covered it with makeup or just worn something that did not reveal it. I would have told you if you just asked me, Evelyn. But taunting you seems much more enjoyable," I said.
"Playful, aren’t you?" she chuckled.
"Quite. Got to have a playful side," I said. "Well, it was a fun time with you. I think I should now go to the magic tower."
She nodded. I turned my back towards her and took merely two steps when she said, "Mother is alive."
"Is she?" I asked.
There was no point in acting surprised. She would not have told me this if she did not know that I was aware of it.
"I saw her in my dream."
"Evelyn, a dream is not reality."
"Of course, it’s not. Maybe that’s why she was there even when I woke up," she said. "I do not like lies, Blue."
"What are you implying?"
"Nothing," she said. "Does Demetrius know?"
"Know what?" I asked, now turning to her.
"Everything."

"Ask him that yourself. He is your brother," I said and turned my back to her. She did not say anything anymore, but I could swear I heard a prolonged sigh.
"What’s up with her? She sounds creepy," Perita said. "But is the former Queen truly alive?"
"Don’t ask questions, Perita," I said. My head was filled with thoughts. For a second, I thought I should go back to the palace. But the next moment, I thought it would be a waste since I had come this far.
’Haa, I should have just teleported from my room to the magic tower in the first place.’
If I teleported, I would not have to meet her. But then again, I thought it would be a good chance to take a walk. I needed to move around a little.
Not many people could teleport to the magic tower as the magic barrier prevented it. The mages who had a special type of artifact that Luc created could do so. And I could do it because my power could break through most barriers.
When I showed Ruby and Luc Dion’s first tooth, the thought of the weird meeting with Evelyn went right out of my mind. I was too excited to show Dion’s first tooth.
"Aww, our little Dion has grown up so much! Now, he even has a tooth! Gosh!" Ruby exclaimed.
Dion loved Luc and Ruby. They were his second favorite people. He also liked Perita, but surely not as much as them as Perita made too much noise which Dion did not like.
Luc tickled Dion’s belly and he laughed. I was glad to see Luc finally carrying him in the perfect way. He used to carry Dion in a weird, but safe way. Ruby must have taught him how to carry a child properly.
"Oh, you haven’t taken off this bracelet yet. Is it gonna be there all the time?" Luc asked, touching the bracelet around Dion’s wrist.
"Evan gave him that. It’s beautiful, isn’t it? I have one too," I said, showing a partly similar bracelet around my wrist. I had been wearing it since the moment he had given me that. Dem told me to take it off, but I promised Evan that I would wear it. Maybe I took friendship a little too seriously than most people, but it was not a bad thing probably.
