(From Blue’s Perspective)

"Do you like it? Do you like your gift, baby?"

My son was a lot better than before. He would now giggle more and cry less. Ruby had sent him a plant of some kind of violet flowers. They were called ’The Violets’ here, while in my world, their name was African Violets.

He giggled as he worshipped the new plant with his eyes. I had never seen a baby so excited about something. He moved his hands and legs excitedly as I took him near it.

"Aunt Ruby has sent you such a beautiful gift, Dion! Look at those flowers! Aren’t they beautiful?"

I personally never found much beauty in things like this, but seeing my son happy made me enjoy such little things too.

"Do you want to touch it?"

I took his small hand and slowly touched one of the flowers with his hand. He trembled a little. Maybe he did not think it would be like that. Then, he started giggling again. He almost crushed the flower by fisting his hand, but I quickly moved him away.

"Oh, baby, your aunt has sent you a very nice gift. We need to thank her."

That night, Dion, for the second time, went to Dem without crying and remained with him. I slept for a long time after giving Dion to Dem. Honestly, I needed some rest. My body and mind needed a good break.

I slept rather well; must be because I had not slept well these days. I did not want to get up at all. Even when Dem woke me up, I just wanted to stay in bed.

"I don’t wanna get up… Where is Dion?"

"Just beside you, honey. You are hugging him," he said.

I looked beside me. I had my arm around a little boy who was pressed against my chest. He was sleeping peacefully, his little hand fisted and on my neck.

"He wanted you and was crying. So, I placed him beside you. You patted him in your sleep and he ended up falling asleep," he said. "Honey, you need to eat something. I called you a few times."

"I’m tired…"

"That’s why you need to eat."

"Dem… Can you take my temperature? I am not feeling very well…"

"I already have. It’s normal, but we can never know. Doctor Dimitri suggested you eat something now. Right now."

"I caught the fever too, right?" I asked.

He gave a small nod. I sighed. The fever was dangerous for pregnant women and babies.

"Dion also has it. We cannot send him away," Dem said. "I thought he doesn’t have that fever anymore. But he still has it."

"You can go now, honey. There is no point for you to stay with us. One of us needs to stay safe."

"I also have it, so…"

"That’s a lie," I said sharply.

"Come now. Get up and eat. You need to take your medicine. You can sleep then," he said as he placed all the dishes on the bed.

"I really am not feeling well…"

"Get up and eat."

"You literally ignored my question and now you are ordering me?"

"Come, I will feed you," he said.

"Ugh…," I groaned. I gently pulled my hand from under Dion’s head and placed his head gently on the bed.

I got up, feeling like my body had been in the same position for days. Everywhere, it ached.

Dem grabbed my hand and helped me get to the side of the bed where he was.

"I am feeling so sick that I might end up vomiting right after eating," I said.

"That’s fine. Wipe your face with this towel," he said, handing me a hot towel.

Dem fed me egg salad, chicken breast in slightly sweet, and slightly spicy sauce with bread and cold watermelon juice. Protein was needed during this fever. I had to finish everything even though I did not want to eat that much.

Dem also ate along with me. He never ate before me, who knew why. Well, I also usually waited for him most of the time. It was only during the war when I had to eat without knowing if he had eaten.

"Where is that cat?" Dem asked while I washed my face.

"Sapphire? She is sleeping, under the bed. She has been running after a butterfly, I mean, a shadow butterfly that I made," I said. "Now, she is tired and fell asleep."

A shadow animal was different than a real one. It would vanish in thin air after a certain period of time.

"Ah, so that’s why she hasn’t jumped on me yet. She is so damn clingy."

"Oh? You cannot deal with one clingy creature, so how do you think I deal with three of them?"

He smirked amusedly.

"I’m pretty sure if we have one more boy, the number will turn four. Boys are usually clingy when it comes to their mother."

"Sometimes, it’s a hassle. But most of the time, it’s truly adorable and I feel blessed. I like it when Dion would press his cheek against mine and we both just lie down and chill."

"Your cheek turns into a mess of drool," he chuckled.

"Well, that’s cute too."

"When he was sucking on his toes this morning and I freed them from him, he ended up crying in a strange way, as if he was really angry," he said. "He has gotten rather expressive. He does something strange each day."

"Did you see how he can now keep his head up when we put him in a sitting position? Honestly, I thought we were special. But turns out, when babies can roll over on their tummy at this age, they can also do that," I said.

"But I’m pretty sure he is rather advanced than other kids when it comes to expressing himself. He knows what he is doing. He makes different noise for every single thing. He even shows anger, that little thing."

"I know, right? Have you seen the way he kisses me?"

"That’s actually him looking for your nipple on your face."

"Come now, he also shows love that way. When I kiss him and hold him near, he actually kissed me back that way. He has done that after I fed him other day. He wasn’t hungry. It was most definitely a kiss."

I took a bath while Dem stayed with Dion. Our routine had changed so much. We barely had some private moment since I got pregnant for the second time. At first, I was not in the mood for a while. And then, when I was, we were in Trouvaille. We could not even place Dion in a different room there, or with anyone.

Now that we were back, Dion was sick. He would not let me leave his side.

People were not lying when they said once we had kids, private moments would be very rare. And even when we would get some time alone, we would do nothing but rest, because we would be extremely exhausted.

Dem still always had enough stamina to do it. But it could not be done by himself. And I totally did not have an ounce of energy left in my body.

After taking a shower, I examined myself in the bathroom mirror. It was a full-length mirror. I stood before it as I watched my reflection. When I got pregnant for the second time, my body still did not lose all the chubbiness from before. I was slender, but not my tummy. Dem said he liked my belly rolls, when a maid said I should lose weight to look better in the dresses I wore.

Neither Dem, nor I liked the statement and she was fired.

I was not sure if it was a good thing or a bad thing that we would have two children under one at the same time. Maintaining them would surely be very hard.

"Still sleeping?" I asked as I returned to the bedroom.

"Yeah. Looks like he is having a good dream. He kept smiling," Dem replied. It was really cute when he talked about our son like that.

"We should have him sleep on the bed with us today. If we move him, he might wake up," I said. "We don’t want him to wake up from that beautiful dream this soon."

We usually did not have Dion sleep on the bed with us. When we did, most of the time, I would be in the middle of them while both of them would cling to me. After Dion started to recognize me properly around the time he turned two and half month old, he liked to cling to me. Honestly, I liked it a lot too. To be the main object of two of my most favorite people truly was the best feeling.

Tonight, we slept in that way again. Dem liked to hug me when he slept, which was the main reason we slept this way.
