Chapter 63: Addictive

Sir Kit was lost for words. He knew that Princess Eleanor was doubtful about her life in the Roulux Empire and after the attack, she was afraid to stay alone, but Sir Kit also knew that he could not be around her all the time. Especially with his identity, it will be difficult.

’But I do not want her to be in danger?’ Sir Kit thought, ’Should I do something that will...’

Sir Kit shook his head before the thought even plaques his mind. He knew that what he was feeling for the Princess was wrong. He should not be feeling such strong emotions for her. After all, there was a strong possibility that she might be the future Crown Princess but when he looked at her, he could not control his thoughts.

Princess Eleanor’s eyes were sparkling as if she was eagerly waiting for his reply. There was a part of her that wanted to listen to Sir Kit’s answer before she closed her eyes for the day.

Princess Eleanor knew that the knights of the Roulux Empire would protect her. They will do it till the time they get their Crown Princess but she only trusts Sir Kit.

Was it because he saved her from the enemy knight? Princess Eleanor did not know, all she knew was that she could only sleep when he was near her for now. His presence gave her peace of relife. She was not afraid to close her eyes if she was near him.

’Is that the reason why I was in a panic when Nia told me that Sir Kit was no where to be found?’ Princess Eleanor wanted to deny her thoughts but no matter what other reason she thought she could not come up with any.

"I will protect you." Sir Kit said as he leaned back, "Princess Eleanor should not worry about such things anymore. I had already given you my words that I will be there for the Princess."

Princess Eleanor sighed in relief. Her eyelids started turning heavy. The sleepiness that was nowhere to be seen was about to hit her hard and Princess Eleanor did not know how to control it.

"Just stay here till I sleep." Princess Eleanor yawns as she slides on the bed. Her eyes were closing as she took a deep breath. "I can only sleep when you are near me."

Sir Kit was confused. Princess Eleanor’s words hit his heart and sent it into chaos. He did not know how to reach anymore.

Sir Kit looked at Princess Eleanor who was now asleep. He could hear her breathing getting rhythmic.

Sir Kit raided his hand as he ran it over his hair in annoyance. ’How can you say such things and sleep peacefully.’ Sir Kit complained as he observed the sleeping Princess.

Princess Eleanor’s eyelashes fluttered like butterfly wings as she slept. Her lips looked swollen and swollen as his eyes moved down. But before any other thought could flash in his mind, Sir Kit shook his head and closed his eyes.

’Maybe I can only sleep looking at your face,’ Sir Kit said as he took a deep breath, ’I need to stay away from you Princess. I cannot get more involved with you.’

Sir Kit got up slowly as he was ready to walk out of the tent but his legs paused as he looked at the Princess one last time.

The temptation that he tried to control took control of his actions and before Sir Kit could understand he was standing in front of Princess Eleanor’s bed looking down at her.

Sir Kit extended his hand as he touched her cheek softly making sure that the Princess did not wake up. His finger lingered on her skin as he thought, ’I was not wrong. She is as soft as silk. It is addictive,’

Sir Kit closed his eyes as he took a few deep breaths before he walked out. He did not want to wake Princess Eleanor. Sir Kit felt like he could not give any explanation to her if Princess Eleanor was to question him now.

"Do not let anyone enter apart from her lady in waiting," Sir Kit ordered the knights that were stationed near her tent. Sir Kit looked at one of the knights as he said, "Arrange a relatively large carriage for Princess Eleanor. It should be large enough for a person to sleep in it comfortably."

The knight nodded his head in a daze. Sir Kit could see their eyes filled with confusion but he did not say anything as he walked towards his tent leaving the knight alone.

The knights looked at one another in confusion but they were never in any position to question the man. They needed to obey him alone.

Sir Kit entered his tent as he sat on the bed. Princess Eleanor’s words were revolving in his head.

He closed his eyes as he murmured to himself, "She is not feeling safe here. But the situation will be far more worse once Princess Eleanor enters the palace. Will she be able to survive?"

Sir Kit ran his hand through his hair as an unknown emotion passed in his head. He did not know what this feeling was but he felt like he needed to help Princess Eleanor. He wanted her to be happy.

"How will Priest Erasmus react looking at her injury?" Sir Kit thought as his eyes narrowed, "Will he allow her to enter the palace or will he force the Princess to stay in the temple or somewhere else till her wound is healed?"

Sir Kit was a little worried when he thought about it. Rumors were going around that the temple was putting a lot of pressure on this situation. After all, the Crown Princess will be decided by it. The prophecy was important to the Roulux Empire. It had always been. But Sir Kit knew from his personal experience that the temple was also corrupted and the decisions can be manipulated.
