The Web of Knightspur-Chapter 59: Kelly

Nia walked towards the general area. She was happy that she had a discussion before coming here.

Nia felt like her mind was at peace. Not only was Princess Eleanor trusting her, but Princess Eleanor was also showing her the truth about her decision.

"Are you from the Angevin Kingdom?" One of the ladies asked as she took the plate of the food handed over to her by the knight.

Nia nodded her head as she smiled. She could see the lady that asked her to smile with a gentle smile. Her eyes were sharp but her features said that she belonged to the Cenid Kingdom.

"Are you from the Cenid Kingdom?" I asked as I took my plate from the knight.

The lady nodded her head as she smiled, "You can call me Kelly."

The lady’s voice was soft. "You can call me Nia."

Nia walked along with Kelly, but her mind was on the Princess.

’I hope the Princess had her food? Was it to her liking? I know Princess Eleanor is a little choosy but I hope that she likes the food here. As we are stuck for the time being. It is a good thing that I got the spices from the Angevin Kingdom. Maybe I could make something for the Princess in case she did not like the food here.’

Nia’s mind was full of Princess Eleanor. She could not even hear that someone was calling her until she was shaken a little, "Nia?"

Nia came back to reality as she nodded her head, looking at Kelly who was staring at her. "Yes,"

"You are lost somewhere?" Kelly asked as her eyes narrowed, "Is something bothering you?"

Nia was silent but she soon remembered what she had to tell everyone else. "I was worried about Princess Eleanor. I need to go to her soon."

Kelly’s eyes widened. "Does your Princess not like when you are not around?"

Nia could hear the sympathy in Kelly’s voice. She knew what Kelly was thinking. There were rumors around that said some of the Princesses liked to abuse their powers and torture the help. Some would hurt their lady in waiting if they were not happy and Nia could see that Kelly was thinking that Princess Eleanor was the same.

Nia was silent but soon she laughed, "No, not that." Nia smiled as she tried to explain, "So when we were coming here, we were attacked and the Princess got hurt along the way. I am just worried that maybe when I am not there she will suffer in pain."

"You too?" Kelly said as she began eating. Her eyes were glowing as if she could feel the pain Nia was going through. "We were attacked too. It was brutal. I am just thankful that we were all safe. But the experience was horrible and terrifying."

Nia did not say anything, but she quietly ate. Soon she asked the question that was on her mind. "I hope the Princess from the Cenid Kingdom is all safe and sound."

Kelly nodded her head, "She is. But the Princess was afraid a lot. I did not know what was going on at that time. All we could see was blood but the escort that the Roulux Kingdom sent was truly blamed and managed to save everyone. So thankfully, we did not lose any lives."

Nia nodded her head, "Yes, the Roulux Empire did send brave knights with them. Our Princess was safe because of the escort."

Kelly nodded her head in understanding. "We just came here today, but we have to move soon. I am just afraid that our Princess will be hurt or maybe she might not be able to take such a long journey."

"And I am afraid that our Princess’s wound might open up along the way too. But I think all the Princesses have come here and they need to move to the temple." Nia said with a smile.

"The knights said the same. Some of the Princesses will come from the northern side and other areas. I think it will take a day or two before we can reach the center of the Roulux Empire’s castle." Kelly said but soon her eyes narrowed, "But there is something odd. Like the Princesses are staying in the family tent of Grand Duke Beaumont but the tents are so far from one another."

Nia’s eyes sharpened. "I never thought it that way. I wonder why?" Nia murmured as she was silent. There was no dialogue between the two as they ate in silence.

"Do you know why they are all looking at us?" Nia asked in a whisper when she realized some of the maids were looking at them with weird eyes.

"They are the lady in waiting for other Princesses. I think it is because of me." Kelly said as she looked down. Her eyes were filled with guilt. "It is better to tell you rather than you hearing the rumors and misunderstanding."

Kelly swallowed hard as she said in a small voice, "As I said we were attacked, it was clear that someone from another Kingdom had attacked us and the knights from our Kingdom decided to find out who was the culprit. So..."

Nia was silent before she said, "So they decided to talk with other Kingdom’s knights?"

Kelly nodded her head. Nia blinked nervously as she said, "Not a good choice."

"We understand it now," Kelly said as she sighed, "Rumors are going around, saying that it was our Princess who wanted to destroy the reputation of their Kingdom. It was a mess but Duke Beaumont’s knights sorted out the situation soon. But the damage was still done."

Nia nodded her head. "Don’t worry. I judge people from what I see and so does Princess Eleanor. I just hope that both of the Princesses can get along well."

Kelly nodded her head as she smiled, "Yes, I wish that our Princess will find a friend here."
