Duke Felix looked at Princess Macy with a smile. There was unknown happiness flowing through it.

"You look happy..." Princess Macy stated as she walked to the side and sat down with a smiling face. She looked at the man in front of her sitting on the bed and looking at a letter in his hand.

If it was any other time, Princess Macy would have misunderstood and questioned the situation. But now she had realized how much her husband loved her. He even stood in front of the knife to defend her.

"The Crown Prince of Roulux Empire has accepted the audience with the King. I am happy that soon the person who had tried to harm us will have to suffer." Duke Felix’s lips curled up as his eyes smiled. But the content of the letter was completely different. It was a confirmation he had received from the rebel group that the task had been completed.

"You care about this a lot?" Princess Macy asked as she blinked her eyes nervously. She could sense that the man she had been married to was truly amazing and the one who cared about the people a lot.

"Of course," Duke Felix folded the letter as he leaned towards Princess Macy but his face distorted a little as he closed his eyes in pain. Still, he endured it and touched Princess Macy’s face. There was a smile that said, ’Only for you.’

Princess Macy shivered at Duke Felix’s touch. She could not understand why she had ever felt that the man did not love her when he had proven that in his eyes, she was the only one from the start. ’Maybe I misunderstood him and Eleanor. Maybe I was preoccupied with an idea in my mind that I could not understand and made some foolish decisions. But now that I see things clearly, I am happy that things have worked out in my favor. I got the man who reciprocates my feelings.’

"The person has targeted you. How can I not be happy thinking about the punishment?" Duke Felix’s tone was soft as he continued, "Not only that but he also attacked Prince Arlo. Does the man think that we are powerless people that can be bullied so easily?"

Princess Macy was silent. She knew that this time around, Prince Arlo was really badly hurt and there were also times when she could not do anything. As a sister, Princess Macy wanted to be near him and give him support, but she could see that he did not like Duke Felix. She had to make a choice and she did. Princess Macy’s eyes were filled with tears as she leaned into Duke Felix’s arms. Seeing his hands wrapping around her tightly, she felt a sense of security and love. "You are such a caring person. You have done so much for me and my brother. Even now, you are thinking of punishing the people who had attacked me and Prince Arlo. I really am lucky."

Duke Felix’s lips curled up but he did not say anything. He wanted to laugh but he endured it a lot. "I have to do it. As your husband and the son-in-law of the King, I must make sure that people who have bad intentions against you should be punished."

"If only Prince Arlo could understand you." Princess Macy sighed as she looked at Duke Felix. "But how do you know the Crown Prince of the Roulux Empire? You two seem close. "

Princess Macy leaned back as she looked straight into Duke Felix’s eyes. "He even gifted you the mine..."

Duke Felix could see the curiosity in Princess Macy’s eyes. He laughed as he ruffled her hair as if he was trying to make a small child understand. "I do not know him personally, but as the Crown Prince of the Empire, he is very generous. After all, he has to look into every kingdom and make sure they are at peace."

Princess Macy nodded her head as she moved back into Duke Felix’s arms like a child trying to get warmth. She was satisfied with his explanation as it made sense.

Duke Felix looked down at Princess Macy as his eyes glowed. Although he said that, only he knew the real truth. The reason why he knew Crown Prince Richard was because they had made a pact. A pact that will benefit them both and everything that happened from the marriage to the attack on Prince Arlo was a part of it.

Duke Felix’s eyes darkened as he thought back on how difficult it was to come to that conclusion. Once he had received a helping hand from the Queen, he knew what he had to do. He did not need to think twice before he accepted the Queen’s suggestion. A rebel that would kill Princess Eleanor’s father. It was not a difficult situation at all. All he needed to do was plan out the things very meticulously and execute them.

And when he knew that Crown Prince Richard had asked the temple to contact the Kingdom for Princess Eleanor’s marriage, he knew that his time had come.

The proposal was rejected and Duke Felix made his move. He contacted Crown Prince Richard and put forth his plan. He wanted to sit on the throne of the King while the Crown Prince wanted to marry the Princess without any mishap.

It was agreed that Crown Prince Richard will tell the world that a prophecy has come down but before that he has to kill her family. They might even ask Princess Macy to go as a Princess representative to the Empire and to avoid being killed.

Duke Felix was still remembered as the Crown Prince who suggested he use a badge from the Dukedom. His uncle’s family. Initially, Duke Felix did not understand but then he realized that the Crown Prince was trying to finish off his rival. After all, Duke Beaumont had a right to the throne.

It was a well devised plan benefiting them both. Duke Felix will gain the throne but kill everyone eventually and Crown Prince Richard will gain Princess Eleanor and his rivals will be destroyed.

"Duke Felix..., Princess Macy ...." A hurried voice came from outside. He could sense that the thing he was waiting for had finally come.

Princess Macy leaned a little back as she looked out of the door. Her eyes moved toward Duke Felix in a hurry as if she did not know what to expect.

"Let’s see what’s the matter." Duke Felix said as he asked the man to enter. The soldier was sweating all over as if he had run a long distance just to come here.

"The Prince.... Prince.... Attack..." The man could not speak properly as he struggled to form a complete sentence, "There was an attack... we cannot find Prince Arlo...!!"

Princess Macy’s eyes widened as she took a deep breath. Her throat constricted as she did not know how to react. Her body was stiff as Duke Felix touched her shoulders, bringing her back to reality.

"How..." Princess Macy managed to say but the soldier did not pay any mind to it.

"The King has called for an audience. He is waiting for the Duke and Duchess in his study..." The soldier could not complete his sentence as he saw Duke Felix taking a step towards the door.

"Duchess, you need to keep your heart strong. The King needs us now." Duke Felix reminded her as he walked alongside Princess Macy toward the King’s study room. Duke Felix knew that the game was now in his hand and he had to make a move soon.

"We need to do something now. We have to find Prince Arlo!" The King’s enraged voice could be heard all around the study. He was angry and there was no denying the truth.

"I will go and search for the Prince personally." Duke Felix offered in a sincere tone as he looked at the King with a determined gaze. "But I feel like Duke Beaumont is involved in all of this as well. We cannot simply neglect such things anymore."

Duke Felix looked to the side as he saw the Queen crying in the corner. Princess Macy tried to give her some support as he continued, "Everyone is suffering and now we can only hope that the Prince is alright. If the King wants my opinion, I think we have to take this to the Roulux Empire. Let the Emperor grant us justice."

The King was silent as he thought about it. It was true that he planned to visit the Roulux Empire and get an explanation so should he just go now.

The King nodded his head as he said, "I will let them know.."

"I will write to the Roulux Empire that the King will soon be there. I will leave today itself in search of the Prince. Maybe the King should also leave today for the Roulux Empire. We cannot afford to waste time." Duke Felix said urgently as he could see everyone nodding their heads.
