Chapter 209: Chapter 207

Princess Eleanor got ready as she walked out of her room.

Although there was still lingering pain in her body, Princess Eleanor was happy that she could now walk properly. She looked around but could not see anyone there.

"I think, I have to walk there alone," Princess Eleanor said but soon saw a man in a mask standing not too far away. Princess Eleanor could not help but smile as she walked towards him but soon her feet stopped.

"Princess?"

Princess Eleanor looked back as she saw the chief healer walking towards her. Princess Eleanor smiled at him as she turned her body but soon her hand that was behind her indicated for Sir Kit to go away. She knew that the man did not like to expose himself so openly.

"Yes?" Princess Eleanor asked as she saw the chief healer looking at her with a questioning gaze.

"Does the chief healer need something from me?" Princess Eleanor asked as she turned around. She could clearly see that the man who was standing there a few seconds ago was now nowhere to be found.

"Princess, I could see many positive changes in your health."

"Yes, it is all because of the medicine. I am grateful that the chief healer had taken the time and healed me completely. I am grateful." Princess Eleanor said as she and the chief healer started walking in the same direction.

Although Princess Eleanor wanted to go and meet Prince Arlo soon, she could not take the risk of the chief healer finding out.

"If it wasn’t for Doctor Raul then even I could not cure the Princess." The chief healer’s words were humble but he observed the Princess with a keen eye. He was informed to get the Princess back to the royal palace soon. Although he had provided many direct hints about it, the Princess seemed not to get it.

"Actually, Priest Erasmus is also very happy to know that the Princess’s health is improving. Maybe that is the reason he had started to have prophetic dreams again..." The chief healer continued hinting as he smiled. He did not want to sound desperate but in truth, he really was. It was only yesterday that he had received the letter from the temple asking him to take the Princess and enter the royal palace soon. It was his mission that he needed to complete within the next two days. 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺

"Really?" Princess Eleanor’s eyes were filled with curiosity, "Does all the Princesses’ health affect the high Priest’s ability?"

But before the chief healer could answer the Princess’ question, she asked again in a sad tone, "But isn’t there a rumor going around that many of the Princesses are feeling unwell in the royal palace? Isn’t it better if I stay here at the Duke’s mansion until I’m completely cured? I do not want to go to the royal palace and make my health deteriorate again. The experience of not getting to eat is terrifying." Princess Eleanor sighed as if it did not affect her at all that the Chief Healer was beside her. She continued in a dull tone, "But if Priest Erasmus could see the dream again, then won’t it mean that he is about to give the prophecy? Maybe it is time for me to go back to the Royal Palace.... I can only hope that I do not get sick there..."

The chief healer could hear the desperation and uneasiness in Princess Eleanor’s voice. "No, Princess... You do not have to worry about that... I will be there to take care of you... If anything happens, then the Princess should trust my medical skills...."

"It is not that I do not trust the chief healer’s skills...." Princess Eleanor’s eyes were filled with unknown emotions as if she was struggling to say the words. Something was bothering her and that was evident.

"Then?" The chief healer could not help but ask. He could see that something was bothering the Princess, making it hard for her to decide on entering the Royal palace, but he was in no position to question it. He knew very well that if the Princess did not go to the Royal palace then his own life would be in danger and he wanted to survive at all costs.

"It is not that I do not trust you." Princess Eleanor stopped walking as she looked at the chief healer who also stood beside the Princess. He stared at her, waiting for her to complete her sentence. "I do... but for me, Doctor Raul is very important. It is not that I need him, but I trust him completely. After all, he is the only one who has understood my disease and cured me. Maybe I have developed that trust in him. But..."

Princess Eleanor looked down as if she was hurt. Her eyes showed her unwillingness to understand the situation and behaved like a spoiled child.

The chief healer could not help but sigh. It was the most difficult thing that the princess was thinking of achieving. Although she did not say anything clearly, the meaning behind her words were quite clear. Princess Eleanor wanted Doctor Raul to treat her in the case of any illness.

"Princess," The chief healer said in a small voice, "I know you trust Doctor Raul’s skills. But one cannot force the doctor. Doctor Raul does not like to enter the Royal palace...."

Princess Eleanor’s eyes blinked as she bit her lips nervously. There was a slight rebelliousness within those gaze, that made the chief healer panic.

"Princess, the royal family, and Doctor Raul are not on good terms with each other. And to be honest, Doctor Raul is a little arrogant and overconfident in his medical skills..."

"But if he is indeed superior, isn’t it natural to have a little arrogance?" Princess Eleanor asked innocently as if she was too naive to understand where the chief healer was about to take the conversation. "But then again, I have seen him with my own eyes. Doctor Raul is a generous man and he can take care of me... And even if something happened that even Doctor Raul could not handle, the chief healer would be there to cure me, right?"

Princess Eleanor blinked her eyes as her gaze penetrated through the chief healer’s soul. He could understand that Princess was being stubborn now but he could not blame her. When she was in the temple, none of them were able to cure her, so the Princess lost her confidence in them.

"But..."

"The chief healer knows that I trust you too, isn’t it? If I had not heard that other Princesses are getting sick at the Royal palace, I would never have asked you this. The chief healer might understand that even if I go to the Royal palace in two days, my body would still be under recovery. It’s highly possible to catch any disease..."

The chief healer sighed as he shook his head. He knew that the Princess would not understand. "The Princess is really stubborn."

"It is not stubbornness. It is fear that I would end up suffering unnecessarily." Princess Eleanor took a deep breath. Her eyes showed her true emotions like an open book. The Princess was sad. "I only wish that Doctor Raul would come and diagnose me after every two days. Even if he diagnoses for ten minutes and leave, I will be relieved. At least, till the time I am confident that I am healthy and nothing will happen to me....."

Princess Eleanor looked at the chief healer as she said, "As the Chief healer, you can be there whenever Doctor Raul visits... Can you arrange it? I know nothing is impossible for you. You hold the highest position in the medical field..."

The chief healer sighed as he said in a soft voice, "I will talk with the Royal family. If only they allow..."

Before the chief healer could complete the sentence, he saw the joy in Princess Eleanor’s eyes. "I know the chief healer could do it. You really are powerful.."

The smile on Princess Eleanor’s face brightened, "I will tell Nia. She will start packing my things. Now that the chief healer has agreed to my conditions, I can go to the Royal Palace with peace of mind..."

Princess Eleanor did not wait for the chief healer’s reply as she hurriedly walked off in a certain direction. The chief healer could only look helplessly at the Princess’s disappearing back as he sighed heavily.

’But I did not agree...’ The chief healer thought as he took a few deep breaths. He knew that Priest Erasmus would not be happy with this, but seeing Princess Eleanor agreeing to enter the Royal place in two days, the chief healer could not help but close his eyes. ’It doesn’t matter. All that matters is that Princess Eleanor has agreed to come to the Royal palace. 10 minutes every two days is not a bad deal for the Royal family. And it won’t mean that the Princess is alone with the man. I will always be there with the Princess. The Royal family will not mind. Yes, everything will be alright.’
