Chapter 150: Chapter 150

Princess Eleanor was a little afraid. She had never seen that look in the man’s eyes.

"Where were you?" The stiff tone sent a chill down Princess Eleanor’s back. She swallowed hard as she closed the door quickly.

Princess Eleanor ignored a beating heart. Her mind was flashing the Grand Duke’s silhouette in front of her eyes. She doesn’t know what to do anymore. Princess Eleanor knew that it was time for her to ignore Sir Kit and pretend that she doesn’t know anything. 𝐟𝚛𝕖𝚎𝕨𝗲𝐛𝚗𝐨𝐯𝐞𝕝.𝐜𝗼𝗺

"I was here only," Princess Eleanor walked towards her bed as she sat down ignoring Sir Kit’s gaze. Although the man wore a mask Princess Eleanor’s mind was trying to find a common point. She felt like Sir Kit and the Grand Duke’s temperament was similar. "Why were you searching for me?"

Princess Eleanor knew what she was thinking too much. How could he be the Grand Duke? The man was in his study room. How can he be here now?

Princess Eleanor’s reasons told her that whatever she was thinking was logical. The Grand Duke and Sir Kit were two different people, but no matter what she could not just push the thought out of her mind.

"Princess Eleanor had told me prior that she will be truthful to me. Is this you being truthful?" Sir Kit took a step towards the Princess. His eyes glowed in the dark. "Is this how you want to cooperate with me? The Princess wants me to leave everything behind and tell you all of the secrets and important things while you just do whatever you want. If this is so then maybe we should break the corporation."

"Is that a threat?" Princess Eleanor raised her eyebrows. Her breathing had regularized as she felt comfortable again. "I never knew that someday you will threaten me."

"And I never knew that someday Princess Eleanor will go against my words and betray me."

"I have betrayed you? I just wanted to take chances."

"Take a chance and get caught?" Sir Kit asked as he folded his hand looking straight at Princess Eleanor. His eyes were filled with curiosity but he did not say anything else. He wanted Princess Eleanor to know the consequence of her actions.

’Maybe I should stop appearing in front of her for a few days,’ Sir Kit thought as he made up his mind. He knew that there were still some things he did not want to reveal yet. Especially the things involving the Royal Family. And yet Princess Eleanor’s curiosity was far greater than his imagination.

Sir Kit had already predicted that Princess Eleanor would try to go to the study room but he felt like she would wait for a day or two before taking action. ’Maybe I was wrong.’

"Don’t worry," Princess Eleanor bit her lips as she said with a trembling gaze. "The Grand Duke will never find out that it was you who..."

"Never find out?" Sir Kit laughed as he ran his fingers through his hair in irritation, "Then why did he call me to meet him?"

Princess Eleanor was frightened. She wanted to take a step back and rethink but soon she knew that this plan would never work. She needed to clean things up fast. Sir Kit was her only ally here. It was not that she was not guilty, she was, but thinking that Sir Kit cut her off made Princess Eleanor frightened.

’I want him by my side.’ Princess Eleanor said with a trembling tone. ’I cannot let him ignore me. I ...’ Princess Eleanor could not finish her trail of thoughts when she saw Sir Kit walking towards the window without any word. She felt like Sir Kit was abandoning her.

Princess Eleanor turned disparate. She could not reason out with herself as she ran towards the man as she hugged his waist. She wanted him to stop and truly he did.

Sir Kit looked at Princess Eleanor who was trying her best to stop him. Her hold on him tied but Sir Kit could only sigh. He was angry and irritated. He wanted Princess Eleanor to know that there were some things that she should be careful about. Not everyone was as understanding as he was. What if she did such a thing at the Royal Palace? What would be the outcome then?

"Princess," Sir Kit said as he tried to remove the Princess’s hand.

"No," Princess Eleanor was disparate. She felt like if Sir Kit felt now, the relationship she had built with him would form a crack. Princess Eleanor’s hold on Sir Kit tightened. The more he tried to free himself, the more Princess Eleanor held onto him.

"I know I was wrong. I got caught and created a problem for you too. I was desperate. It will not happen again. "Princess Eleanor murmured as she felt Sir Kit’s hand stop. He no longer wanted to remove her hands.

Princess Eleanor looked up only to find Sir Kit looking at him. His eyes stared at her as if he had a lot of things to say.

Sir Kit sighed as he took a deep breath, "Princess, there should be a limit to your curiosity."

"But curiosity does not have a limit," Princess Eleanor blinked innocently as if she did not know what was happening. "But I understand. I was wrong and I should have taken your advice."

Sir Kit was pleased as he nodded his head. He touched Princess Eleanor’s cheeks softly as he looked at her sparkling eyes. "Princess, there’s a reason why I did not want you to go there again. The Grand Duke could return anytime."

"That is not the only thing, right?" Princess Eleanor blinked her eyes. She knew that Sir Kit was not telling her the whole truth. Although she wanted to know the truth, but she knew that if Sir Kit would not be willing to tell her then he might really not tell her anything.

"Princess," Sir Kit ran his thumb over Princess Eleanor’s cheeks. His eyes looked straight at her as if he was seeing something pleasing to the eyes. "There is a chance that the Royal Family has done many bad things, so what was your plan? It is better to know that the man you suspected to be involved in the incident is innocent. You even know that the royal family is involved in the accident. They are the real culprit. Why would you like to find out about their other crimes?"

"Because I think that it will help me. I need to destroy..." Princess Eleanor closed her mouth in a hurry. She could not say that she wanted to destroy the people who were involved in her family’s death so openly. She had to be careful about her words.

"You need to destroy them and then what?" Sir Kit said his eyebrows. "They are the Royal family of the Roulux Empire. They are above all. And even if you destroy them, then what will happen to the people of the Empire? Have you thought about the unrest in people’s hearts? What if there is no monarch to rule? What if the crime in the Empire increased and people had to suffer? Who will be responsible for that?"

"So you are suggesting I should not touch them? Even though now I know who helped my Uncle, I should let them be and live my life happily here. What if after playing a trick and I had to marry the Crown Prince? Not as the Empress but a concubine? You want me to live with the killer of my family?" Princess Elebaor’s voice trembled at the end as her eyes turned red. She did not want to show this side of her to Sir Kit but right now she felt helpless.

"I never said that," Sir Kit sighed as he rubbed Princess Eleanor’s eyes. He cup[ped her face as he forced her to look at him. Her eyes looked straight into his as he said, "I am just saying that the Princess should not only think about herself and her sufferings. The consequences of your actions will not be less. There is a possibility that maybe more people will lose their families and life in this. What I am trying to say is, make smart choices Princess."

"Smart choices?" Princess Eleanor looked at Sir Kit in confusion.

Sir Kit nodded his head, "Yes, smart choices. Try to understand the situation and then act. Find a way that will help you in the long run and it will not affect the others too. Or maybe lessened their sufferings."

Princess Eleanor was silent. She knew that Sir Kit’s word’s were not wrong. She had to make smart choices now. Princess Eleanor nodded her head in understanding. She knows that she was trying to pull things that she should never have.

"Now, Princess should rest and let me do some damage control." Sir Kit smiled as he moved forward and placed a small kiss on Princess Eleanor’s face. "Maybe you will not see me for a day or two. Don’t ask anyone about me here. I don’t want people to misunderstand and tell the Grad Duke."

Princess Eleanor nodded her head in understanding. She too did not want Sir Kit to be in trouble because of her mistakes.
