Chapter 114: Chapter 114

Princess Eleanor was silent.

She could sense that something was wrong but she did not say it out loud. Her eyes stayed on Sir Kit as she took a deep breath.

"Sir Kit had said that we would be meeting at the Beaumont mansion," Princess Eleanor’s eyes narrowed, "So what are you doing here now? What had made Sir kit come into my room so late?"

"You," Sir Kit’s tone was low but there was confidence in his tone. "I was worried about Princess Eleanor. I heard the banquet was rough on you so just wanted to check if the Princess is fine."

Princess Eleanor smiled as she looked at the man standing in front of her. She had many things to say but she kept her mouth close as she nodded.

Princess Eleanor could feel a slight change in Sir Kit’s behavior. She could not figure it out now but she could feel it. It felt like something was wrong with him. Something was making him nervous.

Sir Kit swallowed as he nodded his head as well. He looked around the room. There were candles lit as he smiled, "Did Princess Eleanor have her dance?"

Princess Eleanor tilted her head. She did not know how to react to this. She shook her head as she bit her lips. "I have a leg injury... I cannot...."

Princess Eleanor’s voice trembled as she said the words. She blinked her eyes as she waited for Sir Kit to react. She knew that he would nod his head and they would shift to some other topic. At one point Princess Eleanor wanted to tell Sir Kit that ’Now you have seen me so you can leave,’ but no matter what she could not bring herself to say those words.

Princess Eleanor did not want the man to leave. She did not know if it was something she wanted to happen or not but she knew that she felt safe near him. Sir Kit gave her a sense of comfort that no one had given her for a long time.

"Princess should not lie to me." Sir Kit smiled as he moved towards Princess Eleanor but soon he kneed down on one leg as he smiled extending his hand. "So can I have a dance with you?"

Sir Kit smiled as he waited for the Princess to say something. His eyes were filled with eagerness as if there was hope.

Princess Eleanor smiled as she put her hand on Sir Kit’s as she saw him stand up. Soon his one hand held her hand tightly as he moved his other around her waist.

They both started moving around in the room, slowly as if three was music playing around. Sir Kit looked down on Princess Eleanor. There was a considerable difference in their height but that didn’t matter. They were comfortable with one another as if they were a perfect fit.

Sir Kit bowed down a little as he whispered into Princess Eleanor’s ears. His breaths were sending a tingling feeling all over her body, "Your legs don’t really hurt. Does it?"

Princess Eleanor blinked her eyes as she looked at the man with raised eyebrows. Yes, it was true that the wound was not deep and the pain was also little. There were times when it was clear that the pain she was feeling was due to the poison and not the actual pain from the wound.

"Sir Kit thinks too much." Princess Eleanor said as she blinked her eyes innocently. "Of course, I am in pain."

"Lie is like a drug Princess." Sir Kit pulled Princess Eleanor closer to him. Both of their breaths could be heard in the quiet room as they looked at each other with complicated emotions. "You should be truthful to at least one person."

Princess Eleanor felt like fighting with Sir Kit. She did not know why but she felt like she had to stand up for herself here if she wished to continue this further. "I trust one person. I trust Nia. I know she will never betray you."

Sir Kit’s lips curled up into a smirk. He knew that what he was listening to was the truth. Princess Eleanor really trusted Nia but he also knew that there was a limit to that trust. There was a slight line that drowned.

"I told you, Princess. Lying is like a drug. It can get you addicted." Sir Kit smiled. His hold on Princess Eleanor’s waist tightened as he moved his body towards Princess Eleanor. He looked straight into her eyes.

Their body was moving as if it was natural to them. Princess Eleanor’s smile softened as she bit her lips. She knew that she had to prove her point, so she took a step toward Sir Kit and she pushed against his body. Her eyes were filled with confidence but there was still a little nervousness in her body language.

"Yes, it is addicting. So is Sir Kirt addicted?" Princess Eleanor asked. She stood on her toes as she blinked her eyes moving her body towards Sir Kit’s ears as she whispered. "If lying is addictive then so is keeping secrets. So is Sir Kit as guilty as me in this case?"

Sir Kit did not have words to say. He could sense that something was not right. The way Princess Eleanor was saying things indicated that there was something he was keeping in hiding.

They say the truth hurts and it did hurt Sir Kit. He was hurt as he swallowed hard. He knew that whatever Princess Eleanor was saying was true. He was guilty but there were just too many things he was hiding from the Princess. He could not understand what she was saying.

"What am I hiding, Princess?" Sir Kit asked. His tone was soft as it contained the lingering feeling of uncertainty. "I do not understand." 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦

Princess Eleanor smiled. Her eyes glowed as she looked straight into Sir Kit’s gaze. She had many things to say. She wanted to question the man but was it the right time? Princess Eleanor did not know.

"Sir Kit knows to act."
