147 Reunion

Kyle felt that the little cat was simply too good to him.

She trusted him so much that she was willing to put herself at risk just in order to save him. To make sure that he would not regret what he did in the future, she took the heavy risk.

“Well, there’s actually another room at the back.” Lotte pointed at the back. “If she hadn’t protected us, I was planning on dragging Dylan and Jake there.”

Lotte was more meticulous than Jake. The first time, she only formed a shield because she didn’t really expect that Kyle would explode like that. But if those explosions continued, Lotte would just drag them to the room.

At least, that place would be more protected.

They should be fine there.

“I see.” Kyle nodded.

His hand holding Kate grew tighter. There was no way he would let this little cat away from him anymore. The more he interacted with her, the more he wanted her to stay by his side.

No matter how the future would be, no matter how hard it would be, Kyle would bind this little cat by his side. The thoughts that had crossed his mind back then had appeared again, but this time, Kyle didn’t push it away.

.....

He knew that it would be impossible to run away from this fact.

Since that was the case, he would instead make use of it to be able to make the little cat stay by his side and protect her. He will allow her to be able to do things willfully without the need to worry about anything else.

“You...” Jake opened his mouth and eventually closed it again. “Anyway, we’ll go to pick up Dylan’s younger cousin later.”

“That’s good.” Kyle nodded.

He then took out some of red and purple crystals and began to recover his strength. As he trained, Kyle found out that through the healing that Kate continuously poured into him, it had actually tempered his energy, making it overflow.

In this state, it wouldn’t take long for him to advance to the next rank.

This made Kyle’s eyes narrowed.

If those researchers were to find out that these healing abilities were not only capable of healing but also helping to advance other people’s rank, who knew what they would do in order to get their hand on these healing awakened?

He had to grow stronger.

So much stronger so that he would be able to protect her.

He didn’t want her to leave him.

So he had to make sure that he could protect her by his side. That way, she would be able to stay comfortable and had no intention to leave.

After another hour, Dylan opened his eyes.

He looked at Kyle solemnly. “You have to be careful.”

“I know.” Kyle smiled bitterly. “Even though the number of black gem and crystals are rare, they seem to be able to let a person advance leaps and bounds. The power is so strong even if it’s just a little bit.”

“Yes.” Dylan nodded.

Jake looked at Dylan and grinned. “Now, we’re all growing stronger again, huh? Let’s go fetch your cousin and leave City D. I don’t want to stay here and face more giant mutated animals.”

Even though Kate had basically slaughtered countless giant mutated animals before with her reverse healing ability, there were more giant mutated animals. The number was only around half from the number of giant mutated animals when they first came. But it was still a lot of number.

These giant mutated animals were basically flooding the area.

They moved to the bridge and then headed to the dormitory and heard the sound of fighting.

“Hit it, Sis! Hit it!”

“Shut up! Damn you! If not because of your poor sense of direction, we wouldn’t have running around in circle!”

“But you’re the one with bad sense of direction!”

Hearing the scolding voice, Kate slowly opened her eyes. She had slept and basically recovered quite a lot after an hour or two sleeping while they were waiting for Dylan. Looking at the two figure in front of her, Kate was stunned. 𝒇𝔯e𝚎𝘄𝑒𝑏𝙣𝑜𝚟𝗲𝑙.c𝘰𝚖

The two of them were precisely Lucy and her younger brother Lucas.

“Meow.”

Lotte turned to look at Kate in surprise. “You know them?”

“She’s my former student.” Kyle’s eyes flashed but he didn’t explain more. Walking to the front, he saw Lucy smashed her fist towards these giant mutated animals and beat the hell out of them.

With her monstrous strength, these giant mutated animals were pummeled until no one could even recognize them.

It was so miserable.

“Fiuh!” Lucy slapped her hand together, feeling satisfied with her masterpiece. She then turned to look at the group of people who appeared from the bridge. Her eyes widened in surprise. Even though Kyle had dressed so differently from the time she saw him at the academy, she could recognize his handsome face easily.

“Professor Kyle!”

“Don’t call me professor again.” Kyle waved his hand.

Lucy nodded and then looked at the three people behind Kyle before landing on the cat that was staring at her. She then pointed at her younger brother, who was taller than her. “I’m here to pick up my brother. He’s so stupid that he’s trapped in this damn university.”

“Do you know where the other students are?” Kyle asked.

“There are some of them still in the dormitory,” Lucas, Lucy’s brother, quickly answered. “I asked them to come but they didn’t dare to come out because they didn’t think that my sister is that strong.”

“I’m very strong! Damn it! I’m already rank 4!” Lucy kicked her brother’s back.

Lucas yelped. “But we have been reaching this bridge from time to time! If there’s no Kate, you’re just a street idiot!” ƒ𝓇e𝙚𝔀𝐞𝚋𝓃𝐨𝘷e𝙡.𝒄𝗼m

Lucy proceeded to pull her brother’s ear in annoyance. Even she knew that she was such a street idiot. Even the time taken to reach City D was a bit stretched. If not because she was following other people who want to head to this city, she estimated that she would have long lost on the road.

“Meow?”

Kate actually wanted to turn back into her human form and had some talk with Lucy. But thinking that Kyle would want to hide the fact that she was a cat that could turn into a human being, Kate simply asked with her meowing.

Lotte looked at Kyle. “She’s asking if they can go together.”

“Do you want to come together?” Kyle then proceed to ask.

He had seen through the two of them easily because of his much stronger ability. Lucy was at rank 4 enhancement ability. Her physical strength was several times higher than that of a normal person, allowing her to beat giant mutated animals with her bare hand.

On the other hand, Lucas was a rank 3 earth ability. He could barely control his strength, making him could only use his ability to protect himself while his sister went on rampaging these giant mutated animals with her fist.

“Yes! Yes, we definitely want!” Lucas yelled.

“Damn it! Why are you answering on my behalf?” Lucy kicked Lucas once more before turning to look at the others. “Alright, I just need help to be able to get out of this damned building.”

“That should be pretty easy.” Jake snickered. “Anyway, I’m Jake. This is Lotte, Dylan, and you know Professor Kyle. Just call him Kyle since he’s no longer teaching you. we’re not that much older than you.”

Lucy nodded. “I’m Lucy and this is my younger brother Lucas.”

“Are you sure that you can get out on your own? There are a lot of giant mutated animals outside.” Lotte pointed at the window heading outside.

“I have a motorcycle and bypassed them all through force when I come here.” Lucy shrugged her shoulder. “I should be fine, I guess.”

“Meow...”

Kate’s whiskers twitched when she heard what Lucy said. This girl had never changed and always did things like this. It seemed that without her helping around, it was estimated that Lucy would never be able to stop her reckless way.

Thankfully, Lucy was strong and her luck was also exceptionally good. This had allowed her to be able to survive many things even with this kind of peculiar personality of hers.

Lucas was also covering his face, not wanting to look at his sister at all. He had known that his sister was such a very.... Easy going person and even airhead. But to think that this would instead make her become very...

*sigh*

“So, which way is it to the dormitory?” Kyle asked carefully.

“It should be behind...” Lucy looked behind her and the scene of ruined corridors and rooms came into view. She smiled sheepishly because she had indeed not paying attention when she caused troubles.

These giant mutated animals were so annoying that she beat them up.

Along with the walls.
