"Hmm...I see a lot of improvements." Scrolling through the status window, he nodded to himself with a satisfied smile on his face. Within a span of a few weeks, he had not only leaped from Starseed-Initiate to Starseed-Rising rank but also managed to acquire a great deal of new skills. His rate of growth was quite astonishing, especially to him–a stranger in this unknown world filled with anomalies and death traps everywhere.
While browsing, his eyes landed on the Elemental Affinities section.
’It seems other elements are slowly awakening within me.’ He muttered, not sounding very excited. It was to be expected from the Orb of Elementus since its name literally represented elements in a conjecture. However, Although awakening new elements was a good thing, he couldn’t technically utilize them for now, not without acquiring the other fragments first.
’I would probably die if I tried using it now.’ Chuckling to himself, he shook his head without any hesitation. He was not some kind of daredevil who loved to risk his life for some momentary thrill or pleasure.
Additionally, his body was accustomed to the light and lightning element so, simply adding another element in the mix would make it volatile. Now, imagine adding countless elements, each with a different nature.
The friction caused by these elements of opposing natures would cause his body to collapse instantly, killing him in the process. Due to this very reason, the other orbs were extremely important to him and he had to get his hands on them, by any means necessary.
’Anyway, Let’s see what other things are new here.’
Scrolling past, he gazed at the Skills section, noticing some new skills on them.
"Let’s see." After a light tap, the status window expanded itself, displaying the skill’s description.
[Skills]
Spiritual Vision: It can alter the perception of time.
Moonlight Radiance Sword Art: A powerful sword technique that replicates the essence of the moon and its countless phases.
Elemental Fusion: Fuse elements to create new skills and abilities.
...
...
"Interesting." A musing expression overshadowed his face after reading through the descriptions. Although some descriptions were vague and unclear, he could understand the meaning behind most of them.
Spiritual Vision granted him the ability to slow down or accelerate his perception over time, making everything around him incredibly slow or fast, depending upon his desire. "A great skill indeed." Nodding his head, he skipped the second skill as it was basically a sword art, nothing fancy, and arrived on the third skill.
Elemental Fusion, as the name suggests, granted him the ability to fuse his elements together. For example, he could combine the light and lightning elements together to create electricity or plasma. It had a wide range of usage and was definitely the most valuable skill for now.
"I’m pretty much ready for the Academy now." An excited smile stretched across his face as he clenched his fist tightly with firm will and resolve, resolve to survive and change.
—
"What’s this unusual mana that I’m sensing?" Alexander furrowed his brows, feeling slightly tensed. The high-frequency mana signals were coming from within the Palace, alarming his senses. He immediately thought of Seraphina, who had just woken up from her slumber not too long ago. ’Is it an enemy attack?’ He hurriedly followed the trace of the unknown mana signal and arrived before Cassian’s room. The intense mana fluctuation was leaking from inside the room. Obviously normal and low-ranked awakeners couldn’t detect the signal but, being a divine-rank individual, his senses were extremely sharp.
’What’s he up to now?’ He thought of his son, who had suddenly changed after the Mournshade Forest incident. He seemed more mature and emotional than before.
Alexander tried to check what was happening inside through his mana sense, but it seemed something was blocking it. He couldn’t determine what was happening inside the room and that left him in a state of worry.
"My Lord." Armes too hurriedly appeared beside him, with an anxious look on his face. He had also sensed the unusual mana fluctuation coming from the Palace and followed its lead up to here.
"What’s happening inside?" Alexander inquired, his voice soft yet commanding.
Armes simply shook his head, "I’ve no idea, my lord. The prince didn’t inform me of anything related to this mana fluctuation."
"Hmm..." He pondered briefly before responding, "Should we break in?"
"Let me inquire about it through those maids first, my lord," Armes suggested, pointing at the two maids who were guarding the door, oblivious to the chaos inside. He vanished from his place, reappearing after a short time.
"So?"
"The Prince has barred anyone from entering his room."
Alexander pondered briefly before nodding his head. "Very well."
He had his own worriness but, he decided to trust his child., "Guard this place well and inquire about it once he comes out."
"Yes." Armes bowed slightly and got to work, vanishing from there.
’Don’t do anything stupid, my son.’ He thought, giving one last look at the closed door.
Cassian, oblivious too the chaos that he had caused outside, was simply testing out his new skills with visible excitement and curiousness bubbling within those golden eyes.
