The Villainess Wants a Divorce:Beast Husbands Regret It to Tears-Chapter 96: How About Forcing Her to Bond?
I’m afraid another wave is about to rise.
She raised the bag in her hand, smiling lightly.
"Patriarch Sutton was worried we might be hungry and brought us some leftover meat for dinner. I just went out to thank him, that’s all."
Wyatt Yardley stared at her empty hand without saying a word.
That hand was clearly behind her just now, so why is it so clean now?
He keenly sensed a faint smell of blood, mixed with the scent of soil and fallen leaves.
If not for his extraordinary perception, it would have been almost undetectable.
Isaac Vaughn lowered his eyes, and in his purple pupils, a light quietly extinguished.
He had once thought that this journey would be different.
They would rely on each other and go further.
But now, once again, she bears everything alone, hiding secrets in her eyes.
They exchanged glances.
No one spoke again, silently agreeing to this explanation.
A subtle silence hovered in the air.
No one questioned, no one doubted.
Yet in each of their hearts, a shadow passed by.
Seraphina Caldwell breathed a sigh of relief, reaching into the Beast Skin Bag and taking things out one by one.
First, she pulled out the few pieces of meat given by Caspian Sterling, blood dripping through her fingers, creating little red dots on the ground.
She bent down casually, pretending to tidy up, but actually took the opportunity to secretly take out durian, tomatoes, and sweet potatoes from the space inside, and also pulled out two more durians.
All of this food was taken from the bottom of the bag given by Caspian, so no one would notice anything odd.
Even the smell was barely there, suppressed by her abilities.
"Why did Patriarch Sutton give so much?"
Gideon Larkin’s eyes widened, pointing at the spiky fruit, full of disbelief.
"Isn’t this thing called thorny fruit? It’s prickly all over, hurts just to touch it, can you even eat it?"
"Can’t eat? Who said that?"
Seraphina casually picked one up, patting the hard shell, making a "thump" sound.
"The flesh inside is fragrant, soft, and sweet with a hint of milk. You’ll understand when we open it later."
At this time, Kaelan Hawthorne came out from the house.
The morning sunlight spilled over his thin figure.
He looked down and noticed a pile of strange ingredients on the ground.
"Cooking yesterday’s soup again?"
He remembered clearly the pot of soup Seraphina made yesterday with red fruit and sweet potatoes and meat.
It was balanced perfectly sweet and sour, leaving a sweet aftertaste.
After drinking it, it left a warm feeling in the stomach, very appetizing.
He still remembered that taste.
Seraphina’s eyes suddenly lit up, her tone filled with joy.
"You really remembered? That’s great! I thought you were just saying it casually."
She bounced closer, gently poking at the pile of ingredients with her fingers.
"I’ve improved the soup a bit, added some Blue Vine Leaves, it can enhance the Spiritual Energy concentration, giving more strength after drinking."
She paused, suddenly recalled something, quickly waving her hand.
"But we need to make a stone pot first, otherwise, we can’t cook it. These ingredients are too delicate, iron pots would ruin the Spiritual Energy, and wooden pots are prone to cracking, only stone pots are suitable."
Upon hearing this, Kaelan Hawthorne slowly turned his head, looking at Gideon Larkin standing aside.
"Go and find a flat stone, make sure it’s thick enough, not too thin. The shape doesn’t have to be regular, just as long as it can hold water. I’ll take care of these ingredients, peeling the skin and preparing the meat."
Gideon just lifted his foot, about to respond.
But before he could speak, Seraphina chimed in cheerfully.
"Then I’ll leave dinner to you two! I’m going to take a bath, after that, I’ll drip the blood, one drop per person, very fair."
As soon as she finished talking, the air seemed to freeze for a moment.
Kaelan’s hand suddenly stiffened.
His eyebrows slightly furrowed, eyes flickering, a complex and indistinguishable emotion flashed across his eyes.
Gideon’s raised foot also stopped in mid-air.
He slowly turned his head, his gaze fixated firmly on Seraphina’s back.
But Seraphina did not look back at all.
She hummed a little tune and quickly slipped into the house, closing the door with a "click" at the same time.
The few people at the door instantly fell silent.
The wind brushed against the treetops, the leaves rustling.
Wyatt Yardley stood leaning against the door frame.
Isaac suddenly reached out, grabbing Wyatt’s wrist tightly.
He lowered his voice, his voice almost trembling, his fingers still slightly shaking.
"She..."
He gritted his teeth, his Adam’s apple bobbing once.
"She really... wants to break the contract with us."
"She’s serious."
Wyatt’s eyebrows raised slightly, a sudden cold light appearing in his eyes.
"She won’t get the chance."
He would rather use some underhanded tricks, employing some dubious means, to keep her by his side.
He’d rather she hate him than see her go to someone else.
Isaac slowly lifted his head.
"Will it work? She’s determined to leave. If you stop her this time, she’ll just bleed and bond anew next time."
"You know better than I do, Seraphina has never been weak. She’s gentle, but beneath that gentleness lies a hard bone."
"She never asks, never relies on anyone, never clings. On the surface, she seems obedient and well-behaved, but in reality, she has calculated every step."
Isaac gave a bitter smile, his eyes falling to the ground.
"Whenever she wants, she can find someone to bond with, drip a drop of blood, turn around and leave. Clean, without a trace."
Wyatt listened quietly, his gaze unchanging.
Suddenly, he changed his tone, his voice low.
"I’ve seen many, many males."
He paused, finally turning his gaze to Isaac, an unusual emotion flashing in his eyes.
"But you, you’re the most beautiful one."
Isaac was stunned, his pupils contracting slightly.
He quickly lifted his head, meeting Wyatt’s eyes, instantly understanding his meaning.
But Isaac didn’t look back, his gaze just faintly drifting towards the house.
His voice was unbearably hoarse.
"Will it work?"
Wyatt understood the pain in his words.
He lowered his voice, a hint of struggle in his tone.
"How about... forcing her to bond?"
He knew he shouldn’t say this, and he knew it went against his nature.
But he feared most seeing Isaac lose everything.
Isaac slowly shook his head.
He said in a low voice, "I don’t want to force her."
"If she really doesn’t want to be with me, then even if I forcibly keep her, I can’t keep her heart."
"She won’t be happy. And I... don’t wish to make her stay with me in misery."
Just as he finished speaking, an intense argument broke out outside.
It was the voices of Gideon and Kaelan.
Gideon’s chest heaved unevenly, his fists clenched tightly.
He gritted his teeth, his tone urgent and grave.
"Kaelan, didn’t you confidently say she was pretending? That she was intentionally stringing us along, acting pitiful to make us beg her not to break the contract?"
"But now? She’s even talking about ’voluntarily offering blood’! Do you still think she’s acting? Is this still pretending?!"
Kaelan stood in place, brows locked tightly, his fingers unconsciously rubbing the corner of his clothes.
He was still putting up a tough front.
"Don’t you have a clue in your heart? Do you really have to ask me?"
But even as he said this, there was no confidence in his voice, not even convincing himself.
Saying he didn’t believe, his heart had already begun to waver.
Seraphina’s recent behavior was overly unusual.
The change was too abrupt, too real.
She was truly decided to let go, really wanting to leave them.
"If I knew, would I need to ask you?!"
Gideon’s voice suddenly rose, his eyes bloodshot.
"Do you still think she’s acting?!"
"One or two more drops and the contract will break! After that, there will be no chance to get her back!"
