The Villainess Wants a Divorce:Beast Husbands Regret It to Tears-Chapter 25: Spiritual Spring
Wyatt Yardley felt the warmth of the soft body in his arms, a warmth that seeped through his scales into his skin.
The tumult inside him instantly calmed down.
But the heat of the mating season hadn’t completely dissipated, still lingering in every part of his body.
His nose was filled with the faint fragrance of Seraphina Caldwell.
His snake tail unconsciously rubbed against her arm.
When he touched her delicate and smooth skin, the softness made his heart tremble violently.
He instinctively tightened his embrace, holding her more securely in his arms.
He never imagined that she would actually agree to let him sleep close to her.
During his long wandering life, female Beastfolk mostly avoided him.
They would either show fearful eyes or turn around and flee immediately.
He was even more surprised that she wasn’t afraid of his beast form.
In his past understanding, females disliked snake Beastfolk.
They had cold-blooded bodies, lacked warmth, and moved silently.
Because of this, the Snake Clan had always been a wandering tribe without a fixed settlement, no stable mating system, and the only way to find a mate was through forceful capture.
That was a cruel rule, a fact he had accepted since childhood.
But who would have thought that one day, he would become the one being taken away?
It wasn’t him who captured her, but she who held his hand, led him into this cave, and leaned on his body willingly.
This overturned his understanding and quietly melted the corner of his heart that had been frozen for years.
Even he hadn’t noticed, his gaze had already become incredibly gentle.
The campfire completely extinguished, the charcoal melted into black ash, leaving only wisps of smoke spiraling up, then swiftly dispersing into the air.
The cave was so quiet that the sound of a heartbeat could be heard.
Seraphina was awakened by the sound of birds chirping outside the cave entrance.
When she opened her eyes, the cave was already significantly brighter. 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎
Sunlight slanted in from the cave entrance, casting patches of flickering light on the ground.
She habitually reached beside her, wanting to confirm whether that familiar silhouette was still there.
Wyatt Yardley had already left, his side was empty.
Only a cool trace remained on her waist, like the mark of a silver-white snake scale sliding past.
She propped herself up and sat up slowly, her movements somewhat sluggish.
As she tried to move her leg, her eyebrows furrowed involuntarily, the center of her brow slightly knit.
Her legs were both sore and numb, a tingling sensation traveling up her nerves to her waist and back.
She looked down at her legs and gently massaged her calves.
It was probably because Wyatt’s cold snake tail had been wrapped around her for too long last night, pressing down quite heavily and obstructing blood circulation.
While softly complaining and massaging her legs, an unusual warmth suddenly came from her neck.
Her heart jumped in surprise, she instinctively reached out to touch.
The antique necklace hanging around her neck had started to heat up, the temperature climbing higher, nearly burning her skin.
Even stranger, she distinctly felt something gently vibrating within the necklace.
She paused in amazement, her heartbeat instantly accelerating, her palms sweating.
Without time to think more, she quickly closed her eyes, took a deep breath, and tried to calm herself down.
Concentrating all her mental energy, her consciousness swiftly left her body, following a mysterious guidance, diving into her personal mystical space.
The last time she entered this space, her memory lingered in dense fog that couldn’t be dispelled.
Everything was shrouded in gray, her vision completely obscured, she couldn’t see anything, relying only on vague perceptions to roughly gauge that the space she was in was about five square meters.
But this time was entirely different, the sight before her made her gasp and nearly cry out.
The heavy white fog had completely vanished.
The entire space was clearly displayed before her eyes.
The light wasn’t bright but enough to let her see every corner.
The sight was truly startling to her.
It was no longer that palm-sized cramped corner, but it had transformed into a spacious area of about thirty square meters.
The ground was an expanse of black soil, the earth appearing a deep jet-black color.
It should feel soft and breathable underfoot, perfect for cultivation.
Seraphina stared at this suddenly appearing land in a daze for a few seconds.
Then an uncontrollable joy surged in her heart.
This place was obviously a perfect piece of farmland!
The soil was fertile, and the space was large enough that with some care, it wouldn’t be a problem to grow some vegetables!
It seemed she would no longer have to worry about getting vegetables; the days of self-sufficiency were just around the corner!
Even more surprising, in the corner of this space, near the edge, was a small water pool.
The pool was tiny, no more than a palm’s width in diameter, with just a few clear drops of liquid inside.
Yet even such a small puddle was enough to make Seraphina’s heartbeat suddenly accelerate.
Is this... a Spiritual Spring?
Don’t novels always say that a space with a Spiritual Spring is a true cultivation treasure ground?
The Spiritual Spring can heal and nurture, boost plant growth, enable cultivation of Spiritual Medicine.
It can also warm the body, enhance physical constitution, and even accelerate the speed of cultivation...
She had long been fascinated by such rumors.
But did her spring really have these effects?
She hurriedly closed her eyes and meticulously used her mind to extract a drop of spring water.
The water droplet formed a transparent bead, suspended in the air.
Holding her breath, she reached out a fingertip to gently touch it.
The moment her fingertip made contact with the droplet, a warm and gentle stream surged from her fingertip into her body.
The sensation was incredibly comfortable.
Even more surprising, her legs, previously so sore they were unbearable, suddenly felt significantly lighter.
She was astounded, eyes flashing with shock and ecstasy.
This spring water... really worked!
She hadn’t even fully grasped this magical water’s uses.
Outside the cave came a familiar voice.
"Seraphina, are you up yet?"
It was Kaelan Hawthorne’s voice.
Her heart trembled, leaving no time for further exploration, she quickly withdrew her consciousness, returning the droplet of spring water to the space.
The next second, the cave entrance was drawn open, and Kaelan walked in.
He wore a somewhat worn blue short shirt, sleeves casually rolled to the elbows.
In his hand was a skewer of grilled meat threaded on twigs, the meat golden brown with a tempting caramelized surface.
Oil droplets continuously seeped from between the meat under the residual warmth of the charcoal, sizzling softly.
Rich meaty aroma immediately filled the air.
He walked over with a cheerful smile and handed the grilled meat to her.
"Freshly roasted, still hot, give it a taste."
The smile would have been quite charming, if not for the conspicuous dark scar slashing from his left brow to his right cheek.
The scar’s edges were slightly indented, its color darker than the surrounding skin, clearly an old but severe wound.
The presence of that scar twisted the original gentle smile somewhat.
Seraphina instinctively avoided his gaze, her eyes shifting slightly.
She took the grilled meat he handed over, her fingers touching the warm meat, her fingertips slightly flushed with heat.
She bowed her head and took a bite, her teeth easily tearing off a tender piece of meat.
The meat was tender and juicy, evenly sprinkled with coarse salt on the surface, surprisingly delicious.
"Did you guys go hunting last night? I thought the poor visibility and inactive beasts at night would make it difficult to catch any."
