The Villainess Wants a Divorce:Beast Husbands Regret It to Tears-Chapter 156: His Life Belongs to Her Now
He coldly surveyed the crowd.
"When everything is settled, let her decide whether she wants it herself. Her choice can only be made by her."
Kaelan’s heart sank when he heard "Don’t mention bonding."
He knew what those four words meant.
It meant that the time he had left was even less now.
Once the charm technique completely wore off and her mind cleared, she would surely remember the matter of breaking the contract.
By then, she would no longer be the dependent Seraphina of this moment.
And as for him, he feared he wouldn’t even have the right to say a single word while standing by her side.
He only hoped that she would wake up a little later.
Gideon suddenly spoke up.
"What if she wants to bond herself? What if she brings it up herself, what then?"
Wyatt suddenly turned his head and shot him a fierce glare.
He gritted his teeth and snorted coldly through his nose.
"If she brings it up herself, then it’s her choice."
Gideon’s eyes suddenly lit up upon hearing this.
Seraphina liked him.
Every time she lost control, every moment her emotions stirred, the first person she thought of was him.
If she mentioned bonding at this critical juncture, who could stop her?
Who would try to stop her?
Isaac didn’t say a word, simply stayed seated quietly.
His gaze stayed fixed on Seraphina.
The crowd exchanged glances, and then tiptoed into the cave.
As they lifted the grass curtain, they saw Seraphina turning over in the pile of hay, curled up slightly.
Isaac walked over in a few steps.
He gently placed his fingertips on her forehead; the temperature was normal, no fever.
Then he squatted down, pulled out a clean corner from his pocket, and wiped the sweat off her cheek.
Carefully, he lay down beside her, wrapped his arms around her, and gently pulled her into his embrace.
Wyatt watched quietly from the other side.
Once Isaac settled down, he slowly lay down on the other side of Seraphina, his eyes constantly fixed on her.
"Your rut period... is over?"
Isaac nodded lightly.
"It’s over. The effect of the medicine has worn off, and my emotions have stabilized."
Wyatt finally relaxed a little.
He reached out and gently pulled Seraphina out of Isaac’s embrace.
Then he moved her over to his side, adjusting his posture to let her curl entirely into his arms.
Wyatt suddenly felt like crying.
Not because of pain, but because the long-suppressed bitterness in his chest finally found a release.
He once thought he wouldn’t be shaken by anyone again.
But at this moment, merely because she was lying peacefully in his arms, he felt an impulse to cry out loud.
There was a time when he thought he couldn’t hold on anymore, gritting his teeth and persevering.
Just because he hadn’t bonded with her yet, hadn’t told her solemnly how much he liked her.
But he never let go, even when his mind was scattered, an obstinate thought lingering.
Just hold on a little longer, just a little longer...
Now, she was here in his arms.
He closed his eyes and didn’t let the tears fall, only tightened his arms more.
From now on, his life belonged to her.
If one day she needed him to sacrifice himself, he wouldn’t even flinch before walking towards the cliff.
He lived only for her.
Not far away, Kaelan leaned against the stone wall, watching Wyatt protect Seraphina, a shadow in his eyes.
He also wanted to hold her tightly like Wyatt.
But he knew he was no longer qualified.
Last time she looked at him, it was like looking at a stranger.
At that moment, he understood that once some distances are opened, they can never be crossed.
One mistake pushed him far away.
A simple "regret," how could it explain?
What was there to regret?
Shouldn’t have let go of her hand?
Or should he have stayed by her side regardless from the start?
The next day, Seraphina woke up groggily.
She blinked a few times, hearing only the dripping sound inside the cave.
She was dazed, then realized she was nestled in Wyatt’s arms.
Clearly, last night she was sleeping in Isaac’s embrace...
How did it change as soon as she opened her eyes?
She instinctively raised her hand, touched Wyatt’s cheek with her fingertip.
His skin was no longer icy like yesterday, but had a hint of a living person’s blush.
This slight change made her heart tremble.
He was really getting better, healing, gradually coming back to life.
And was this related to her?
"Awake?"
Wyatt grasped her hand.
"Thanks to you, we all survived."
Seraphina’s heart shook, she abruptly raised her head.
"You... do you know what I did?"
She knew well that the previous day she used the Spiritual Spring to heal them, and such obvious anomalies must have been noticed by them.
But she still clung to a sliver of hope, hoping they would pretend to be ignorant and let her continue to hide within that safe distance.
Last night, she tossed and turned, thinking of various excuses, mentally rehearsing possible interrogation scenes.
Even creating absurd lies about Divine Medicine granted by The Beast God, she crafted them boldly.
But Wyatt just gently shook his head, his thumb rubbing over the back of her hand.
"Not really clear."
He murmured.
"But if you don’t want to talk... I won’t ask."
The heavy stone in Seraphina’s heart fell to the ground at that moment, "swish" down.
She reached out to tidy Wyatt’s messy bangs.
"Sooner or later The Beast King and the Elephant Clan leader will come, we have to put on a show."
She took a slight step back, lowered her voice to continue.
"Just say our injuries aren’t fully healed, relying on Witch Doctor’s herbs to barely keep us alive until now. Every word must be cautious, every expression must be correct... don’t let them suspect."
"Hmm, I trust you."
Wyatt replied with a smile.
With those words from him, Seraphina finally breathed a sigh of relief.
The matters of space and the Spiritual Spring involved life-and-death secrets, she wasn’t ready to reveal them to anyone yet.
She knew that once it leaked, what awaited her wouldn’t be mere suspicion, but endless probing.
Suddenly, Ian’s shout was heard from outside the cave.
"Seraphina! Are you in there?"
Seraphina instantly straightened up, quickly regulating her breath, letting fatigue show on her face.
Wyatt leaned backward against the cold stone wall.
He deliberately coughed twice, his face suddenly paler, lips tinted with a slight blue.
Seraphina quickly supported his arm, opened her mouth to respond.
At that moment, Isaac also woke up.
To be exact, pretending to have just awoken.
Gideon straightforwardly turned to lie sideways, pressing on his left arm, "hissed" a sound, his brows suddenly furrowed.
Yet he stubbornly didn’t open his eyes, still closed, acting as if unconscious from serious injuries.
Aidan leaned against the wall’s base, clearly already awake for some time, yet forced his complexion pale as paper.
Kaelan walked to the cave entrance, leisurely pulling open the heavy Beast Skin curtain.
"Ian, The Beast King, you’re finally here... They just woke up one after another, but their bodies are too weak, breaths are faint; we were afraid to disturb you and didn’t immediately report."
Ian and Adrian entered and quickly scanned everyone in the room.
The scene before their eyes left them stunned.
They had thought last night’s battle was too fierce, that it would be a blessing if the few managed to endure, maybe preparing for last rites before dawn.
Who would have thought, now stepping in, seeing not only were they alive, but all "awake"?
