Chapter 82: Kicked Out~

Abigail didn’t know what was going on behind her back. She was already in too much pain; even Rosa hadn’t seen the young man’s face. But she still knew what kind of clothes he was wearing.

A brown shirt and a jacket over it. He also had a rose tattoo on his neck. That was the only thing she noticed in that man’s appearance, and she swore in her heart that she would definitely find that person!

Soon, they reached the hospital, and in no time, Nicholas got the three of them inside as a female doctor checked the burns on Abigail’s body. Thankfully, they hurried here, so the doctor nodded and said, "She’s fine. I’ll give you some medicines to heal the burns and relieve the pain. Keep applying the bandage and the medicines I’ll give every day on her body."

Nicholas nodded as he checked the prescription thoroughly. After that, he stuffed it in his pockets as he took Abigail out, still in his arms. She felt a little relieved since she had been given medicines and the cream had been applied.

She only realised that everyone had seen her in such a condition. Her eyes widened as she struggled, but her husband gripped her waist and said coldly, "Stay put."

"Let me down!"

"No." Nicholas’s voice turned even colder as he said, "What were you doing in a gay bar?"

"Uh..." Abigail would never admit to the fact that she was eavesdropping on her brother-in-law’s first-ever date with the main character of her novel. How could she not be excited, ah?!

But she still cleared her throat and lied, "Nothing. I was searching for someone."

"Alright." Even though Nicholas spoke those words, his face remained cold as he walked. No, his face turned even darker than before, as if he knew his wife was lying to him.

Abigail hid in his embrace, afraid to even look at him. Then she pouted the next second and said, "Okay, I was eavesdropping on brother-in-law’s date with Arthur. Happy now?"

"En."

"Why don’t you speak more words?"

Nicholas remained silent as he continued to walk. Of course, Rosa had decided to act like a perfect mother-in-law this time and gave her son some privacy with his wife. But seeing them like this, acting romantic in public, her chest swelled with happiness. Her desire to search for that damned youth and send him to jail became even stronger!

Slowly, the trio returned home, and by the time they reached, it was already early morning. By this time, even Chris had returned from his late evening date and was already in his room, sleeping. He still didn’t know what had happened behind his back, but his date went satisfactorily.

When they finally returned, Rosa saw that Nicholas was still adamant about carrying his wife. Thus, she waved them goodbye, yawning. "I’ll go and sleep. You two should rest, too. Ah, Nicholas, be a good boy and change her dressing, will you?"

Nicholas, who had forcibly pulled out his wife just now, was stunned momentarily. After a small silence, he nodded and said, "Okay."

"Okay?!" This time, it was Abigail’s turn to give out such a reaction. She firmly covered herself with her arms and shook her head, saying, "No way!"

Even Rosa hadn’t expected her daughter-in-law to act that way. Since the young woman was always excited in her own way, she had thought Rosa would become overjoyed by this news. But instead, she was refusing.

Nicholas raised his brows and looked down. "You don’t want me to do it?"

"Well..." Abigail shut her mouth and finally relaxed.

What was she worried about? Hadn’t she wanted this in the first place?!

Thus, she pursed her lips and nodded, but there was still a noticeable trace of blush creeping on her cheeks.

Nicholas also noticed it and felt that his wife was so strange. Day in and out, she would try various means to poke him on his cheeks and make trouble for him, messing everything up. If that weren’t enough, she would come out of the bathroom early in the morning in a messed up bathing robe that would clearly reveal her chest and start putting it off right in front of him.

Of course, that only happened once or twice when they had slept in the same room for a few days before that knife incident.

Later, she would deliberately text him meaningless things and even send him random lingerie pics, saying she would buy those someday and show him wearing it! That was when Nicholas would always put his phone down and even block her for an entire day.

Did she think making him imagine that kind of thing during a meeting was fun?! Sure, they were married, and he knew he had even recently decided to keep her with him. It didn’t mean she could play with fire like that!

What was even more frustrating was that she had started doing this before his heart started to soften! And Nicholas had to admit to himself in his heart that those deliberate or indeliberate teasing messages or mixed signals he got from the woman were one of the reasons his feelings suddenly shot up like that.

It wasn’t that he believed in love at first sight, but he did realize that love at many sights was indeed a thing.

Certainly, giving her his phone number and letting her sleep with him wasn’t the right choice. Thus, he changed his direction and brought Abigail to her room. Of course, Abigail didn’t care where they were heading. She merely wanted to rest and hide from her husband.

Not that she was shy. Nope.

Seeing that her husband had taken a different route, her entire body relaxed as she was taken inside. When Nicholas finally placed her gently on the bed, she raised her head and said, "Alright, so you can go back. I know how to change my bandages, and plus, the doctor has just bandaged me, right? So we don’t need to check it right now."

Nicholas looked at her and thought, ’Really, he never thought he would be kicked out by this crazy woman one day.’ 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎

Nevermind. He didn’t want to stay here anyway.
