Chapter 70: The Mess

Abigail continued to stand there and wait. She frowned after a minute passed.

Just what was taking her mother-in-law so much time? Damn, she was tired and hungry at the same time!

She rubbed her stomach as she thought for a second. Since she couldn’t handle her hunger, it was better go and find her mom first.

After deciding, she acted instantly, heading toward the direction where the older woman went. Just then, she instantly bumped into a woman coming from the other side without even realizing. That woman was also heading in her direction while talking to her friend.

The moment they both bumped, the food on her tray spilled entirely onto the two of them. Of course, the majority of it went all over Abigail’s body, making her scream in shock.

Thank God it was a cold coffee and some wafers. Or else, her body would have burnt if it were a hot chocolate coffee or something.

Even so, Abigail couldn’t contain her immediate anger. She grabbed the lady’s hands and exclaimed, "Hey, seriously, can’t you watch where you’re going?! You just ruined my whole outfit!"

If it had been an ordinary, middle-class woman, she might have apologized for her mistake. However, this blonde lady, with a face full of makeup, was just as wealthy and arrogant. The moment she heard Abigail’s sharp outburst, she pulled her hand back forcefully and retorted, "Shouldn’t I be saying the same to you, blind woman?"

"Blind?!" Abigail burst out in anger, jabbing her finger at the arrogant blonde. "You’re the blind one here! Your whole family is blind! You were supposed to be keeping an eye out! But no, you had to turn your head and chat with your friend, as if that was more important than the food in your hand!"

"What’s it got to do with you?! I’ll talk as much as I want! But look at you, you’re so blind you can’t even dress yourself properly!" The blonde woman wrinkled her nose. "People like you, poor and low-class, should mind your own business! Can you even afford that food? It costs more than your entire outfit! Get away from me, you stinking peasant!"

It was true. Abigail wore the outfit she would usually wear at home. So she didn’t think too much about it before.

Abigail’s anger knew no bounds upon hearing the woman’s insults. She glanced around, looking for something to vent her frustration. In no time, she spotted another cold chocolate coffee cup and grabbed it, wasting no time in pouring it over the blonde woman’s head. Her actions were so swift that even the arrogant lady couldn’t react in time to stop her.

In shock, the blonde woman wiped her face and raised her head, slapping Abigail across the face. "You hussy! Do you think you can just throw food at anyone?! People like you deserve to suffer! Look what you’ve done! You’ve ruined my hair and outfit! Just wait and see! You have no idea who my father is!"

"Oh?" Abigail chuckled, satisfied after letting out her anger. "You think you’re the only one with connections? Well, guess what, pretty lady, I have connections too. You’d never guess who I’m married to."

"So what? You can’t be more important than my father!" The arrogant lady glared at Abigail. "If you were really somebody, you wouldn’t be dressed like that!"

Just as the two of them were arguing like cats, a voice vibrated from the back. "Madam?"

Abigail swiftly turned her head at the back and looked back in confusion. The driver was still sleeping soundly on the table as if he had drunk some drug for sleeping so much. Even this kind of havoc didn’t disturb him.

As for the person who called out to her...

"William? Katherine?" Abigail’s anger died down in the blink of an eye, making her entire face blossom with surprise and happiness. "What are you doing here?"

William’s expression wasn’t good after seeing her state. Despite how his boss and this lady got married, she was still a Harrison even if it’s only in name. How could she let herself look like this, a complete mess from head to toe?!

Was this how she usually represented his boss, Nicholas Harrison in the public, by arguing with peasants like this in the middle of a cafe?

He didn’t say a word, but his expression clearly said that he wasn’t happy with the situation. Beside him, even Katherine wasn’t happy for a completely different reason. Her eyes widened as she let go of her boyfriend’s hand and hurried over to her friend.

"What happened to you?" Katherine’s eyes glanced at the blond, arrogant lady who stood not far away and glared at her. "You rich arrogant girl, do you even know who you messed with?"

At the same time, before she could even open her mouth, her boyfriend walked over and nudged her back, saying, "I apologize on madam’s behalf. We will go now."

"No, wait a minute!" The arrogant blond lady wasn’t done yet. She was still angry as she pointed her finger at Abigail’s face. "I’ll only let you guys go if she apologizes! Otherwise, I’m calling security!"

"What’s happening here?" Rosa finally made her way here only to find another mess that was waiting for her. She glanced at her daughter-in-law drenched in a cold coffee from head to toe as her eyes widened. "Abigail! You’ll get sick! Come with me!"

The moment Abigail saw her mother-in-law, she relaxed a little and hugged the older woman, crying and wailing pitifully. "This arrogant girl called me a poor peasant for bumping into her!"

"Okay, okay. You aren’t a peasant." Rosa patted her daughter-in-law’s back gently and gestured at William to kick that arrogant woman out. The assistant instantly got to work as he called out his bodyguards, who dragged the arrogant woman out.

"No, wait! You can’t do this to me! You don’t know who my father is!" The blond struggled, but the bodyguards still continued to drag her away. "Let go of me!"

William finally felt relieved after seeing her gone and said, "Madam, we will be off now."

"Yes, thank you, and I apologize for disturbing your date." Rosa felt sorry for the young couple she liked the most.

Katherine shook her head and looked at her friend worriedly. "Rosa, can you let me stay? I’m worried about her." Her face turned a little angry at the thought of that arrogant woman. "That tramp deserves to be sent to the police for what she did!" She thought for a while and said, "No, better yet, she deserves to die!"

Who knew that Katherine’s words would later transform into a bitter, cold truth that would shake the entire country?
