The Villainess Married The Evil CEO-Chapter 27: Don’t You Care About Your Wife?!
There was a reason why Abigail was frightened to death as she stared at the screen for a long time without moving.
"Ho-how is this possible? How can it be the same origami?!" Abigail’s lower lips quivered as she sat on the bed, staring at her phone, extremely frightened.
All of a sudden, the door of her room was knocked. When she didn’t respond, the person outside opened the door and a familiar woman entered.
"Abigail, why didn’t you wake up? You-" Rosa’s words stopped in her tracks when she saw her daughter-in-law’s pale face and traces of utter fear in the depths of her eyes. Alarmed, she hurried over and asked, "Abigail! What happened?"
Her eyes happened to glance at the screen, and she immediately understood what frightened the girl. She immediately took the phone away and said, "Don’t read these rumors, okay?"
Abigail, whose phone was snatched away, returned to herself immediately and looked at Rosa. She managed to stretch her lips to form a smile and said, "Okay. I’ll go and take a bath."
Then she pushed herself off the bed and hurried toward the bathroom. Once the door closed, she collapsed on the floor, trembling slightly.
No...
How is that possible?!
The villain she had created in her novel was extremely cunning and insane to the point of killing people without any regard. In the end, she would leave a skull origami stuck to the ground right at the crime place.
That was the scene Abigail had created for every crime ever committed in her novel. So once she transmigrated here, she decided not to go down the original novel’s path and die a miserable death, focusing on saving her husband instead, who can possibly become her bullet-proof jacket in need.
But....
BUT!!!
Someone actually used the same method to burn a lady to death!
Even though the first kill in her novel wasn’t burning someone to death, the fact that origami appeared at the crime scene made Abigail tremble.
Wait, it was said that a lady died, didn’t it?
It couldn’t be the same lady whom she had threatened last night, right?
The more she thought, the more frightened she became.
Just who did it?
Could it be that this world would perhaps progress to the same ending that she had thought of? Then what would become of her?
Maybe she wouldn’t die, right? She wasn’t the one killing people in the first place.
Abigail finally managed to reassure herself as she hurriedly took a bath and walked out of the bathroom. She took a deep breath and focused on what she wanted to do.
There was no worrying about something she couldn’t control, could she?
Even though her body was still trembling, she knew what to do: make Nicholas her way out!
That’s right. Abigail knew she would win half the battle if she managed to keep the man alive by every means.
No...
Wait a minute.
That trip was today, early in the morning!
Damn, what the heck was she doing, wasting her precious time like this?!
Abigail quickly combed her hair and rushed downstairs. But once she entered the living room, she was surprised to find Nicholas sitting on the dining table with a Bluetooth earpiece in his ear and hands typing on the keyboard of his laptop at the fastest speed possible. His brows furrowed deeply as he talked to someone rudely.
"So you can’t do it?" Nicholas’s voice was threateningly cold at this time as he spoke again, "Then forget about our deal."
He directly raised his hand to click the button on his earpiece and continued typing.
Abigail raised her brows as she cleared her throat. When the man didn’t glance at her, her face turned annoyed as she walked over and directly shut the laptop screen, glaring at the man.
Nicholas, who had quick reflexes as he dodged away, saving his hand being sandwiched between the screen and the keyboard, was stunned. He blinked and looked up, getting irritated when he saw this woman’s face.
"So you’re finally here at last. Did you sleep well last night?"
Even though those words seemed to be gentlemanly, there was a trace of sarcasm in his voice. Abigail, despite being a dumb girl, quickly caught that tone and coughed awkwardly.
She possibly knew now why this man had to cancel his business tour. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
It turned out her decision to burn that stupid CEO’s hair to a crisp was the best decision she had ever made in her life!
"I have troubled you." Abigail tried to speak as professionally as possible, but she didn’t know that in the eyes of Nicholas, her face looked like she was trying her very best to hide the traces of a smile from her lips.
The more he looked at her, the more he felt annoyed. He rubbed the bridge of his nose and said, "You know how much trouble you have created with that act last night?"
Abigail couldn’t possibly know. So she shook her head innocently.
"Get out of here." Nicholas took a deep breath, clenched his fist, and looked at the woman coldly. "I don’t want to see your face."
Even though he was quite happy by the series of events last night. His wife actually did something he had been longing to do for a while. But now that he had to take care of the aftermath of that event, he ended up in trouble. The fact that it was the CEO’s partner who was refused brutally by him who had died in the fire made it even worse.
He immediately had to cancel his plans and stay at home, dealing with endless troubles coming his way. He had spent his entire morning just now trying his best to find people who could help him. He was already annoyed by people who dared to ignore his words, making him cancel deals abruptly as a consequence.
He was losing a lot of money, and all of this happened just because of this mere woman!
He was so furious that he wanted to kill her, but he still had hold of his reasoning as he took a deep breath and stopped looking at her.
Alas, his mother, Rosa, heard that conversation and put her hand on the laptop before her son could even open it. She glared at her son and said, "What a great husband you are! Don’t you care about your own wife?!"
