The Villainess is my fiance: But she is gentle towards me-Chapter 217 -: Don’t you want to know who my master is?
Vivian stared at the clown. The clown looked calm and relaxed, like he wasn’t scared at all.
It seemed he didn’t mind if Vivian attacked him right now.
Vivian thought hard inside his mind. ’Can I really beat them?’
The strange creature was already hurt, but Vivian hadn’t used his full power yet.
If he fought now, using his five main elements and his Xi realm, could he win?
If he could trap the clown inside his intuition world, it would be much easier to win.
But the clown was very smart and tricky. The clown also had many Intuitions. So Vivian wasn’t sure if his Xi realm could trap him.
"Don’t think too much," the clown said suddenly, breaking Vivian’s thoughts. "I’m not here to fight."
Vivian narrowed his eyes. He pulled back his sword and snapped his fingers. The sword disappeared from his hand.
"What do you want?" Vivian asked in a cold voice.
The clown gave a small laugh. "I was just passing by. Thought I should say hello."
Vivian’s eyes became smaller. "If you have nothing else to say, then leave."
He started to turn around.
But the clown spoke again. "Do you know who my master is?"
Vivian stopped moving. Slowly, he turned back to face the clown.
"What do you mean?" Vivian asked.
The clown smiled a little. "I’m sure you are curious. You want to know why I’m here and why I came to this continent."
Vivian kept his face blank. He showed no feelings. But inside, he was very curious.
From what he knew, the clown was not from this continent. He came from a place called Axian.
Heartless had told him before that they both had the same master. Heartless could not remember much about that person.
But he remembered one thing clearly, that master was like a god in the continent of Axian. Everyone feared and respected him.
Even Vivian felt a strange fear in his heart when he thought about that unknown master.
He didn’t know why, but the feeling was strong.
The clown looked at Vivian and continued talking in a light voice. "My master sent me here. He has plans for this place. Big plans."
Vivian stayed quiet for a moment. Then he asked, "What plans?"
The clown tilted his head and grinned wider. "You will see soon enough. But I can tell you this, my master already knows about you, Vivian. He knows everything about you."
Vivian felt a sudden chill run down his back.
But he kept his face calm and showed nothing. He took a deep breath and asked in a steady voice,
"What does your master want from this continent? And why does he know about me?"
The clown laughed loudly. "It seems you are really curious, aren’t you?"
Vivian’s face turned serious. He snapped his fingers. His sword appeared back in his hand with a soft shine.
"Whoa, whoa!" The clown raised both hands and took a few quick steps back. "I told you I’m not here to fight, didn’t I?"
Vivian did not smile. His expression became even colder.
Since the day he came back from regression, he had always felt a heavy danger hanging over him.
He once talked about this feeling with Charlotte. But he could never find the exact source of the threat.
At first, he thought the danger was Heartless.
So he killed Heartless. But after that, the feeling of crisis did not go away. It became stronger instead.
And now, when the clown talked about his master, Vivian felt that same dark pressure again, even heavier than before.
Vivian took one step forward. A strong killing intent poured out from his body and from his sword.
The air around him seemed to become sharp and heavy.
The clown stepped back again. He looked a little nervous now.
"Okay, okay," the clown said quickly. "How about we make a bet?"
"What bet?" Vivian asked. He did not lower his killing intent even a little.
The clown’s face looked playful, but his voice became serious. "How about this, you join the northern war. If you can take control of the entire north, I will tell you everything I know. How about that?"
Vivian stayed quiet. He thought for a moment.
He was already planning to go to the northern war anyway. So the bet did not change much for him.
After thinking it over, Vivian slowly lowered his sword. The killing intent around him became weaker, but it did not disappear completely.
"Why would you tell me?" Vivian asked. "What’s in it for you?"
The clown gave a small chuckle. But this time, a tired look appeared in his eyes for just a second. It was very quick, but Vivian noticed it.
The clown reached down and grabbed the strange injured creature by its neck. He turned around.
A blue vortex suddenly appeared in front of him. It spun slowly with bright light inside.
The clown looked back at Vivian one last time.
"If you can conquer the north," he said, "I will tell you everything."
Then he stepped into the blue vortex. The light swallowed him and the creature.
A moment later, the vortex closed and disappeared completely.
Vivian stood alone in the quiet place. The wind blew gently again.
He looked at the spot where the clown had vanished. His sword was still in his hand.
His face looked calm on the outside, but inside his mind many thoughts were moving fast.
The northern war.
The master from Axian.
The feeling of crisis that never went away.
Vivian closed his eyes for a second. Then he opened them again. His eyes looked sharp and determined.
"Fine," he said quietly to himself.
"I will take the north."
He turned and started walking away. His steps were steady.
He knew the real fight was just starting.
And this time, the enemy was much bigger and much more dangerous than anything he had faced before.
Meanwhile, at the Harencross estate, the grand hall had become quiet.
All the nobles had gone back to their guest rooms.
Some had already left for home in their carriages under the cover of night.
Others decided to stay until tomorrow morning before returning to their own lands.
Outside in the cool night air, only four people remained near the main gates.
The queen stood tall with her arms crossed, her face calm but her eyes sharp as she looked toward the dark sky in the distance.
Beside her stood Salena, her face was filled with worry too.
Raon leaned against a stone pillar, arms folded, staring at the same direction with a small frown on his face.
And then there was Marinate.
She stood a little apart from the others. Her fingers twisted together nervously.
She bit down hard on her lower lip. Worry filled her eyes.
Her gaze kept going back to the faraway spot where Vivian had fought earlier.
The place was now dark and empty, but she could still picture the flashes of light, the sounds of battle, and the heavy pressure in the air.
"Haa..."
She let out a soft, quiet sigh. Her shoulders dropped a little.
"I hope he is okay," she murmured under her breath. She looked down at the ground, at her own shoes, as if the answer might be written there.
Salena let out a soft sigh. Her chest felt tight with worry. Vivian had come all this way because of her.
If something bad had happened to him tonight, she didn’t know how she could ever face Edward again.
"Brother... please be alright," she whispered. Her eyes stayed fixed on the distant sky.
The night sky was completely dark. Thick clouds covered everything. Not a single star or moonlight could be seen.
But as Salena kept staring into the blackness, a tiny light appeared far away on the horizon.
At first it was just a small dot. Then, in the blink of an eye, the light shot forward and appeared directly above them.
Everyone stood up at once. Their faces lit up with hope.
"Brother..." Salena breathed out, almost not believing her eyes.
Vivian’s figure slowly became clear in the glowing light.
He descended gently from the sky, landing softly a few steps away. He looked around at the group with calm eyes.
First he looked at Marinate, who had jumped to her feet.
Then at Raon. Finally he stepped closer to them and gave a small, respectful bow.
"I’m sorry," he said quietly. "I know this marriage was important to you both, but..."
He didn’t finish the sentence. He didn’t need to. They all understood what he meant.
Raon gave an awkward smile and rubbed the back of his neck.
He was the groom, after all. He had no idea what to say in a moment like this.
But Marinate didn’t hesitate. She walked straight up to Vivian with a warm smile.
"No problem at all," she said brightly. Then she gently nudged Raon with her elbow.
"He didn’t even want to get married right now anyway."
"Yeah... right..." Raon mumbled. The awkward smile stayed on his face.
Vivian looked at Marinate and returned a small, genuine smile.
"Please visit Charlotte sometimes," he said softly. "She doesn’t go outside much, so she can’t meet many people. It would mean a lot to her if you came by once in a while."
Marinate met his eyes. She looked at him deeply for a moment, then nodded with a gentle smile.
"I will," she promised. "I’ll make sure to visit her."
Vivian then turned to the queen next. He gave her a small, respectful nod.
"Mother-in-law," he said in a calm voice, "how about you come with us? It’s late, but the road back home is safer if we travel together."
The queen looked at him for a moment.
Her face stayed calm, but her eyes showed a hint of warmth. She shook her head slowly.
"Thank you, Vivian," she said. "But I have some matters to take care of here. I will stay until tomorrow and leave after everything is settled. You go ahead. Don’t worry about me."
Vivian did not push her. He simply bowed his head again.
"As you wish," he replied.
Then he turned to Salena. She was still staring at him, her eyes shiny with unshed tears of relief.
She had not moved from her spot since he landed.
"Salena," Vivian said gently, "we will leave tonight."
Salena took a quick breath. She wiped her eyes with the back of her hand and nodded.
"Yes, brother," she said, her voice soft but steady.
