The Villain Mom Awakens — Going Viral by Parenting on a Reality Show-Chapter 340: I’ll Drive You All Out Sooner or Later
"Alright, Nathan, can’t you see what’s going on? Your dad’s not feeling well. I’m busy, so stop making a fuss."
Nathan Lynch’s lips trembled, his eyes welling up with tears as he demanded loudly, "Where’s my teddy bear?! They said they saw you take it! My mom left that for me. It’s the only one I have. Please give it back, okay?"
Renee Jennings turned her head away stiffly. "I don’t know what you’re talking about. If you like teddy bears, Mom will buy you another one. Don’t stand here shouting. Did you learn nothing from your etiquette classes?"
Renee Jennings was thankful that Sophia Zobel was out playing mahjong. Otherwise, if she saw this, she would have started nagging again. Sophia had only brought Nathan Lynch home because he was scheduled to film for the show the day after tomorrow. She had even come along herself, claiming she was afraid Nathan would be bullied. She’d even made a harsh threat: if Nathan had so much as a single scratch on him, she would enforce family discipline on Renee.
The thought made Renee inexplicably angry.
’Crazy woman.’
"I don’t want your teddy bear! I only want the one my mom left me! I just want the one my mom left me!" Nathan Lynch’s eyes were red, his pale cheeks taut. "Give it back now!"
Nathan Lynch grabbed her hand, and she shook it off impatiently. "It’s just a stupid bear. Look how pathetic you are." She pointed at Nathan and said, "So what if I threw it away because I didn’t like the look of it? Stop making a scene. I already promised to buy you a new one. If you keep this up, I’ll tell your teacher and have her discipline you!"
"Where did you throw it?!"
"I just tossed it in the trash."
"I hate you!!" Nathan Lynch roared, then crouched down in front of the trash can and started rummaging through it.
The sight infuriated Renee Jennings. "Look at you, so disgusting! What’s so great about digging through a trash can?!"
Nathan Lynch turned the entire trash can upside down but couldn’t find it anywhere. He was utterly helpless. "What do I do? What do I do now that I can’t find the teddy bear Mom gave me? What if Mom gets mad and doesn’t come for me..."
There were too many tears welling in his eyes; they spilled the moment he lowered his head.
Nathan Lynch found another trash can and began searching through it, over and over again.
’Mom went through so much trouble to come back for me. She’ll definitely be angry if she doesn’t see the bear. Did she not want me because she already knew I would lose it?’
Tears streamed down Nathan Lynch’s face as he kept repeating, "I’m sorry."
Nathaniel Lynch sat up. Seeing Nathan rummaging through the trash nearby, he was so angry he nearly fainted. He strode over and yanked at Nathan. "Get up! Get the hell up! I spend money to raise you, not for you to dig through trash cans like a beggar! Get up! Look at how pathetic you are..."
Nathan Lynch was unmoved, continuing to search on his own.
Seeing that his son was disobeying his command, Nathaniel Lynch felt his authority had been challenged. Unable to restrain himself, he kicked Nathan.
It was not a light kick. Nathan was knocked to the ground. He froze for a moment, then began to cry even harder, pointing at Nathaniel Lynch and accusing him, "You’re not my dad! You’re not my dad!!"
"If I’m not your dad, then who is? Mention that bitch Victor Vance one more time and I’ll throw you out too! Both of you can get lost!" Nathaniel Lynch’s chest heaved.
He despised hearing the name Victor Vance. It always reminded him of some of the unspeakable mistakes he had made in the past. But no matter how hard he tried to avoid it, he could never truly escape it, because the child before him was the product of his marriage to Victor. The boy was smart and eager to learn, but he was just too rebellious, completely disobedient.
Renee Jennings stepped forward to intervene. Now she was truly panicking. She quickly checked Nathan Lynch for any injuries, genuinely terrified of the formidable and difficult Sophia Zobel.
Nathan Lynch swatted her hand away. "You’re a bad person!" His hand moved to point at Nathaniel Lynch. "You’re a bad person, too!" Through his tears, he said, "You drove my mom away and threw out my teddy bear! I hate you! I’ll never forgive you!!"
Nathaniel Lynch glared at him furiously. "You ungrateful little brat! Without me, you wouldn’t even exist! How dare you say you hate me? Have you no conscience?"
"I hate you!" Nathan Lynch repeated, a resolute look in his eyes. "I know everything! You’re the ones who drove my mom away! You’re both villains! She’s not my mom, and you’re not my dad! You’re the bullies who ganged up to kick my mom out!!"
Perhaps it was the terrifying fierceness in Nathan Lynch’s eyes, but Renee Jennings’s heart skipped a beat, and she took a step back. She was reminded of a dream she once had and felt more and more that Nathan was a lost cause, sent specifically to be her downfall.
Nathaniel Lynch’s reaction was particularly strong. He had been taught the importance of filial piety since he was a child. The lesson Sophia Zobel had instilled in him was that one must respect one’s parents no matter what. To do otherwise made you an unfilial son, unworthy of being human, someone who would be scorned by all.
He gritted his teeth. "Looks to me like a few days with Victor Vance and you’ve forgotten who you are! If I had known you were such an ungrateful wretch, I would have strangled you at birth to stop you from coming here to ruin my life!!"
"Where’s the cane? Where is it? I’m going to teach him a lesson he won’t forget!!"
Nathaniel Lynch spun around in agitation, but the butler stopped him. "Sir, please calm down. Calm down."
"Just beat me to death!" Nathan Lynch cried. "If you kill me, you can consider this life paid back to you! I don’t want to be your son anymore!!"
Provoked by these words, Nathaniel Lynch lost all reason and slapped Nathan across the face.
Nathan’s skin was delicate, and a red handprint instantly appeared on his face. He lifted his head, his gaze toward Nathaniel Lynch like he was looking at an enemy, and said viciously, "I know you drove my mom out. When I grow up, I’m going to drive all of you out!!"
Nathaniel Lynch staggered, looking at him in disbelief. When he came to his senses, he started searching frantically for a feather duster. By the time he finally found it, he realized Nathan was gone.
A servant said that Nathan had gone out to look for his toy and that people had already been sent to find him.
"Find him? Why? Let that heartless little thing die outside! Nobody is to go after him!! I’ve raised him for so many years, and I still mean less to him than an outsider who’s long gone! He can’t even tell who’s good to him! Did you hear me? Anyone who helps him can get out too!!" Nathaniel Lynch’s face was flushed red with anger.
Renee Jennings crossed her arms and watched the show, no longer bothering to even pretend. When Sophia Zobel returned, everyone would testify that it was Nathaniel Lynch who had driven Nathan out. It would have nothing to do with her.
