The Villain Mom Awakens — Going Viral by Parenting on a Reality Show-Chapter 315: Christina Lynch Cheats
The actress Julia Lynch, her scene partner, was off her game. Naomi Kenway had to endure several NGs with her, and by the time they finished reshoots, the sky was growing dark.
Julia Lynch explained that she’d been suffering from insomnia for the past few days and couldn’t get into character. Afterwards, she bought milk tea for everyone on set. 𝓯𝙧𝙚𝒆𝙬𝙚𝒃𝙣𝙤𝒗𝓮𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
The assistant director said sternly, "I hope you can get your act together quickly. Otherwise, just leave. We have so many people staying behind to reshoot because of you."
Naomi Kenway was in a hurry to get home and rushed to the dressing room to change.
This location was temporarily rented by the production. Besides the "Youth" crew, other production teams also used it, but the schedules were usually arranged in advance. The "Youth" crew’s rental period, for instance, ended the next day.
Summers was a new assistant Laura Grant had found, reliable and meticulous in her work. Naomi Kenway liked her a lot.
"It’s a little dark here. Should we turn on a light, Nina?"
Naomi Kenway was about to nod when she suddenly heard voices. She frowned and asked, "Did you hear something?"
Summers shook her head. "No, I don’t."
The other two assistants and the bodyguard behind them also shook their heads. "Nina, maybe you misheard?"
Naomi Kenway listened carefully. She was certain she hadn’t misheard, especially since the faint, teasing laughter sounded exactly like Nathaniel Lynch’s voice.
"You all wait here. Summers, come with me to check it out."
Besides her meticulous nature, Summers had another great strength: she came from a family of martial artists. Her skills were excellent, and she had helped Naomi Kenway out of many troublesome situations.
"Nathaniel, why haven’t you come looking for me lately? Is that shrew at home keeping too tight a leash on you? How could she be so awful, not even giving you this little bit of freedom? Oh, my heart just breaks for you..."
"Don’t even get me started. She has no redeeming qualities besides her face. I regret ever marrying her. The way she questions my every move reminds me of a second Victor Vance. It took everything I had to get rid of him, and now I’ve got this meddling hag tying me down!"
"Oh, Brother Nathaniel, you’re so incredible. You just kicked Victor Vance to the curb like it was nothing. I heard he left with nothing to his name. You’re so brilliant, brother. I admire you so much. When are you going to get rid of that eyesore, Renee Jennings? You wouldn’t make little old me sneak around with you forever, would you, Brother Nathaniel...?"
"...You have to give me some time. It’s freezing out here. Do we have to do this in the pavilion? Let’s go somewhere else. I don’t feel safe here. We should just go to a hotel. I told Renee Jennings I’m working late tonight, so no one will bother us."
"No, I don’t want to. I think it’s more thrilling right here. Who’s going to come by at this hour? I already found out that all the other crews have left for the day. No one’s going to be here. You’re just a scaredy-cat, worrying over nothing. The other day, I saw those gossip accounts slandering you, and Rosie’s heart just ached for you. Now, let Rosie make it all better for her Brother Nathaniel..."
Nathaniel Lynch wrapped his arm around Rosalie Hughes’s slim waist and swallowed unconsciously. "And how do you plan to ’make it better’?"
"Does my dear Brother Nathaniel really not know?" Rosalie Hughes reached out, tapped Nathaniel Lynch’s lips, and let out a flirtatious giggle.
She leaned close to his ear. "You know, we’ve never tried it outside before. Are you sure you don’t want to, Brother Nathaniel?"
Nathaniel Lynch felt his bones turn to jelly. It was as if his very soul was being bewitched. The lead actress, normally so gentle and sweet, had transformed into a seductive little vixen in his arms. He was utterly powerless against such a contrast, and an unprecedented sense of accomplishment swelled in his chest.
All thoughts of taboos and morals were tossed to the wind. His worries vanished with them, leaving only the woman before him in his sight.
Staring at her slightly parted red lips, Nathaniel Lynch pounced, pressing his mouth to hers.
Just as they were lost in the moment, a sudden "CLICK" of a camera shutter echoed. Nathaniel Lynch violently shoved Rosalie Hughes away, his heart nearly leaping out of his chest.
"Who is it?!"
Nathaniel Lynch shouted, his breath ragged. He turned on his phone’s flashlight and stalked forward menacingly.
Naomi Kenway admired the results on her phone, a satisfied smile spreading across her face.
Nathaniel Lynch led the way, with Rosalie Hughes clinging to him from behind like a frightened bird.
Nathaniel Lynch raised his phone, staring in disbelief at the person before him. His voice trembled. "Naomi Kenway?! What are you doing here?! No, wait—what did you see? You saw everything, didn’t you? That camera sound just now... was that you?!"
Veins bulged on Nathaniel Lynch’s forehead. He was terrified and furious, completely unable to maintain his usual gentle demeanor. "Answer me!"
’He had assumed it was the paparazzi, someone he could easily pay off. But of all people, it had to be Naomi Kenway—the notoriously difficult Naomi Kenway...’
Naomi Kenway sized up Nathaniel Lynch. Two of his shirt buttons were undone, his tie was askew, and two bright red lipstick marks stained his neck. Behind him, Rosalie Hughes’s hair was a mess and her clothes were in disarray. It only took a single glance to figure out what they had been up to.
Naomi Kenway couldn’t suppress a laugh. She swept her flashlight up and down Nathaniel Lynch’s pathetic state. "If I hadn’t heard your voice, I’d never have recognized you. Well, if it isn’t the great Best Actor Lynch, ’a lotus rising unsullied from the mud.’ I thought you were just some stray dog in heat I’d stumbled upon..."
"You—!" Nathaniel Lynch’s fingers trembled. He lunged for Naomi Kenway’s phone, but she deftly dodged him.
Seeing this, Summers stepped in front of Naomi Kenway and shot out a kick, forcing Nathaniel Lynch two steps back.
With his slight, scholarly build, Nathaniel Lynch was no match for a trained martial artist like Summers. Realizing he was completely outmatched, he changed tactics. He put his hands together as if in prayer and pleaded, "Delete the picture. Please. What will it take for you to let me off the hook?"
"Let you off the hook?" Naomi Kenway retorted, crossing her arms. "What could you possibly mean, Best Actor Lynch? I’m afraid I don’t understand. I just felt like taking a scenic photo on a whim. How could that have possibly offended you?"
"A scenic photo?"
Naomi Kenway was kind enough to show the "scenic photo" to the two of them. It was, in fact, a picture of the scenery. Lush trees filled most of the frame, but the intimate couple in the corner pavilion was captured as well. Their affectionate pose made it obvious what they were doing. Naomi Kenway’s phone camera was high-resolution; their faces—Nathaniel Lynch’s and Rosalie Hughes’s—were perfectly clear without even needing to zoom in.
Nathaniel Lynch’s eyes were wide and bloodshot with rage, as if they might split open. He took a single step forward and was immediately kicked back by Summers again.
"Nathaniel! Nathaniel, are you okay?" Rosalie Hughes helped him up, a flash of hatred in her eyes. "What do you think you’re doing? Is this assault?"
"You’ll need proof to back up that claim," Naomi Kenway said, her gaze sharpening even as her tone remained breezy. "Nathaniel Lynch came at us first. We were merely acting in self-defense."
Nathaniel Lynch shoved Rosalie Hughes aside and pointed a finger at her. "Get away from me! This is all your fault for deliberately seducing me! You slut!"
He kicked Rosalie Hughes as he spoke, his eyes filled with vicious malice.
Rosalie Hughes lay on the ground, staring in disbelief at the cold, heartless man before her.
Naomi Kenway frowned slightly at the scene.
