The Villain Mom Awakens — Going Viral by Parenting on a Reality Show-Chapter 302: Chelsea Raines Says Thanks
"This is all your fault for insisting on coming on this damn show! My bones are about to fall apart. What kind of crap show makes you work every day? They’re just treating us like free labor! I must have had the worst luck to marry you and end up suffering on this stupid show!"
"How can you only blame me?! If you had been willing to put in any effort, we wouldn’t have gotten back so late! What’s the use of me being the only one earning money? These few pieces of naan—who is this even going to feed?! You’re the one who’s useless!!"
A furious argument erupted. Naomi Kenway looked back and saw Chelsea Raines and Gene Woods in a heated fight at the doorway. Jared Woods was squeezed between them, crying, "Mommy, Daddy, please stop fighting! I’m scared!"
Chelsea Raines shot him a glare and said, her words a veiled attack, "Who said you could talk? I don’t know who you get your cluelessness from! You better remember who just worked their butt off to earn money, buy food, and cook for you. It’s one thing to be a freeloader, but now you’re even criticizing me? I’ve put up with you more than once or twice. If you want to eat, then eat. If not, then get lost!"
Jared Woods didn’t understand the hidden meaning in Chelsea Raines’s words and only cried harder.
Naomi Kenway stood rooted to the spot. While she couldn’t bear to hear Jared Woods’s cries, she really didn’t want to get involved in Chelsea Raines’s family drama. ’That couple is such a pain.’
Then a louder cry erupted. In a fit of rage, Gene Woods had shoved Jared Woods to the ground. He cursed viciously, "Don’t think I won’t teach you a lesson! What good will it do you to piss me off?!"
He was looking at Chelsea Raines as he said it, clearly using Jared Woods as an outlet for his anger.
Jared Woods cradled his hand and sobbed aloud. This time, Naomi Kenway truly couldn’t stand by and watch. She walked over, shielding Jared, and snapped, "Haven’t you had enough? Why take your anger out on a child when you’re fighting?!"
Chelsea Raines seemed to snap out of her stupor. She glared viciously at Gene Woods, breathing heavily. "You dare touch my son? I’ll kill you today, Gene Woods! Neither of us is getting out of this alive!"
Perhaps blinded by rage, Chelsea Raines ignored the surrounding cameras and lunged straight at Gene Woods, and the two began to brawl. 𝑓𝑟ℯ𝘦𝓌𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝑐ℴ𝓂
Gene Woods had his hair pulled, and he grimaced and yelped in pain.
"Crazy bitch! You crazy bitch!!"
The whole scene descended into chaos. Gene Woods, overweight and clumsy, was being beaten back by the enraged Chelsea Raines. As he scrambled to dodge her, he knocked over several cameras.
Seeing that things were getting out of hand, the director rushed forward with the crew to intervene and break them up.
[This is wild. So wild. I thought the way Chelsea Raines and her son usually interact was explosive enough, but it turns out this couple is the real bombshell!]
[It’s normal for couples to fight, but they should never use their kid as a punching bag, right? All this yelling and cursing... what did the child do to deserve that? What if this leaves him with psychological trauma?]
[They should at least try to avoid fighting in front of their kid. Children this age tend to overthink things; they shouldn’t be scaring him like that.]
[Gene Woods actually pushed the kid. He’s the absolute scum of the earth!! If you look down on the show so much, then don’t come!]
[I think I just saw Jared Woods fall on his hand. I hope he’s okay.]
...
Listening to the curses and shouts from not far away, Jared Woods kept wiping his tears and choked out, "Aunt Kenway, my mommy and daddy are fighting. Are they going to die?"
"No, they won’t. They know their limits."
Jared Woods buried his head in Naomi Kenway’s shoulder. Only then did Naomi realize that the plump-looking boy was actually quite small. He was six, and his body was growing more sideways than up.
"Let me see your hand first."
Naomi Kenway had noticed Jared Woods crying while clutching his hand earlier. Turning his hand over, she saw that a small patch of tender skin on his palm had been scraped and was bleeding from the fine gravel on the ground.
She frowned slightly and quickly asked Ethan Shaw to bring over the first-aid kit they had just used.
On the other side, Chelsea Raines and her husband had temporarily stopped fighting thanks to the production team’s mediation. Gene Woods had several sharp scratch marks on his face and was clutching his stomach. Chelsea usually wore high heels, so one could only imagine the power behind those kicks.
Chelsea Raines’s hair was a mess, and a clear handprint was visible on one of her cheeks, but overall, she was in better shape than Gene Woods.
Chelsea Raines walked over. Seeing Naomi Kenway carefully bandaging Jared Woods, she felt a slight stirring in her heart and frowned.
Naomi Kenway finished bandaging Jared’s hand. "Remember not to get it wet for a while."
Jared Woods nodded, then turned to see Chelsea Raines and threw himself into her arms. "Mommy..."
Although he loved both his parents, if he really had to choose, he preferred his mother, who was always with him.
Chelsea Raines’s face was covered in marks. She gave Naomi Kenway a complicated look, her expression extremely unnatural. After clearing her throat, she said, "Thank you for what you did just now, Naomi."
Naomi Kenway packed up the first-aid kit with an indifferent expression. "I can’t accept your thanks. Besides, I wasn’t helping you. I just couldn’t stand seeing a child get bullied while being caught in the middle."
Chelsea Raines said, "Regardless, you comforted my son and bandaged his wound. So, thank you..."
"I’ll kill you!" A furious roar sounded. It was Gene Woods, who, flying into a rage from the humiliation, had taken advantage of the crew’s inattention to make another attack.
He lunged forward wildly. After failing to hit Chelsea Raines with the stick a few times, he turned to vent his anger on Naomi Kenway, who was standing nearby.
Naomi Kenway’s eyes went cold. Clutching her son, she scrambled to get out of the way.
But just as Gene Woods raised the stick, someone sent him flying with a kick.
"You..." Gene Woods hit the ground with a THUD. He reached for the back of his head as a nosebleed gushed forth, filling his mouth before he could speak.
A sneaker pressing on his body shouldn’t have been that painful, but who would have thought the man would use his full strength? Gene Woods let out a wail of agony.
He struggled to open his eyes and recognized the man as one of the male guests. He couldn’t remember his name, only that he had a gentle demeanor, high EQ, and never embarrassed anyone. He did everything with a disgusting, effortless grace.
But now, the man’s gaze was icy. His dark eyes, like something inorganic, stared sinisterly down at him, like a man-eating demon.
"Got a lot of strength there," Ethan Shaw said, his tone mocking but devoid of any humor. He ground his foot down, satisfied to hear Gene Woods’s cry of pain, and asked in a low voice, "How about now? Still have any strength left?"
"I’m asking you a question. Why aren’t you answering?" Ethan Shaw’s gaze grew even colder.
"I... I was wrong! I’ll never do it again! Let me go! HISSS, it hurts, it hurts!!..." Gene Woods started begging for mercy when he realized no one was coming to his rescue. Besides, he knew he was facing a powerful adult male, not some pushover he could easily manipulate. His instinct to bully the weak and fear the strong compelled him to lower himself.
