The Villain Mom Awakens — Going Viral by Parenting on a Reality Show-Chapter 130: Ian Doesn’t Like What Mom Doesn’t Like
"What? Is Miss Kensington that desperate for friends? So eager to get close to me?" Naomi Kenway smiled faintly. "People close to me usually call me Nina. I suggest Miss Kensington do her homework before trying again."
The palpable tension made all the other guests hold their breath and watch.
Margaret Jennings didn’t understand the grudge between the two, but she still tried to smooth things over, siding with Naomi. "Perhaps you met at a banquet or something. My memory is also quite bad; I forget things easily."
"I never would have thought a senior like you would have a bad memory, Senior Jennings. Your line delivery is incredible. I’ve seen every show you’ve been in at least three times." Jeanette Kensington didn’t seem angry at all.
"Really? You’re a fan of mine?" This time, it was Margaret Jennings’s turn to be surprised.
Jeanette Kensington pulled a pen from her pocket and handed it to Margaret Jennings, her tone humble. "Could I trouble you for an autograph? Right on my arm, if you don’t mind?"
Margaret Jennings paused for a moment before taking it.
Renee Jennings frowned as she watched the situation unfold. A sense of crisis rose within her. ’It seems this Jeanette Kensington is a real pro.’
"I brought some small gifts for the children this time. They’re candies and cookies I made myself. I hope they like them," Jeanette Kensington said.
A staff member then brought them over on a tray. Inside beautifully wrapped boxes were the candies and cookies Jeanette Kensington had made by hand.
Jeanette Kensington handed out the gifts to the young guests one by one, hugging each of them.
The scene was very heartwarming.
[Jeanette will always be this gentle. I’ll love Jeanette forever!]
[I’m so jealous of these kids. I want snacks made by Jeanette, too.]
Jared Woods hadn’t had snacks in a long time, so he was especially friendly toward Jeanette Kensington, calling her "pretty lady" several times.
Jeanette Kensington patted his head and corrected him with a smile, "You should call me ’Miss,’ okay?"
When it was Nathan Lynch’s turn, Renee Jennings instinctively pulled Nathan closer and said with a smile, "Our boy doesn’t like snacks."
"Is that so?" Jeanette Kensington chuckled. "But Nathan seems to really want some candy." She asked him, "Sweetie, do you want these snacks? ’Big Sister’ wants an honest answer."
After a moment’s hesitation, Nathan Lynch nodded.
Watching Nathan Lynch take the snacks and hug Jeanette Kensington, Renee Jennings’s face turned green with anger. But with so many cameras on her, she couldn’t make a scene and had to swallow her frustration.
Finally, it was Ian Shaw’s turn. Ian shook his head first. "I don’t like snacks. Thank you, Auntie."
This time, Jeanette Kensington didn’t correct the term Ian Shaw used.
"How could a child not like snacks? Or is it because your mother..." She glanced meaningfully at Naomi Kenway.
"Ian doesn’t like them. Auntie, please stop staring at my mom. Your eyes look so fierce, Ian is scared."
Ian Shaw said defensively. He remembered this mean auntie; if his mom didn’t like someone, Ian didn’t like them either.
Jeanette Kensington’s smile stiffened slightly, then she sighed. "What a good boy, looking out for your mother."
With that, she returned to her seat.
[What’s with Ian Shaw? Why is he so rude? Our Jeanette was just being nice and giving out homemade snacks, how can this kid be so inconsiderate!]
[You can tell Jeanette is really a little sad. That kid is going way too far!]
[Jeanette Kensington’s fans are really something else. You’re actually cussing out a four-year-old kid? Ian is very obedient and polite. If you think Ian’s attitude toward your idol is bad, maybe you should reflect on your idol first. I suggest you go copy some Buddhist scriptures ten times.]
[What does a little kid know? Ian just doesn’t like snacks, that’s all. Can the people in the comments, especially you-know-who’s fans, tone it down a bit? Wouldn’t it be better for Jeanette Kensington to just stick to singing on stage, instead of sticking her nose in our family variety show?]
[Yeah, what does a kid know? Ian Shaw is like this because his mom taught him. The kid is just as impolite as his mother!]
[Is your Jeanette Kensington some kind of fairy? No one is allowed to refuse her?]
[The relationship between Naomi Kenway and Jeanette Kensington is so subtle and tense. The production team really knows how to pick its guests!]
...
The guide announced, "Your task is to put on a performance together. Jeanette will be in charge of guiding everyone."
Jeanette Kensington: "I wouldn’t say ’guiding.’ After all, Director Preston and Mr. Jennings are my seniors, and the other guests are also extremely talented. I just hope I can use my limited knowledge to help everyone a little."
Renee Jennings asked, "Do we have to complete this performance together? What if... I do a solo act?"
"Teamwork is required."
The implication was that it was not allowed.
Soon, Jeanette Kensington led the other guests to an open area to rehearse. Meanwhile, Simon Sawyer took the children to play in the square. There were cameras everywhere, so the guests weren’t worried.
"I’ve already chosen the dance for our performance. The overall style is lively and energetic. It’s not very difficult, so I’m sure everyone can master it in a day."
Just then, a staff member came over and said they wanted to take a group photo to document the moment.
After a CLICK, the guide held up the phone they were supposed to be advertising and began praising its high-definition camera.
As was customary, the other guests also gathered around to join in the praise.
Renee Jennings paused, then said, "Why do I get the feeling that Nina is even prettier than Miss Kensington..."
She quickly covered her mouth. "Oh, sorry, I spoke without thinking..."
It was a comment loaded with gunpowder. Everyone knew Jeanette Kensington was hailed by her fans as a legendary beauty, one who outshone all other celebrities in Hansea.
