Chapter 213 – Do your best… Do you think I’ll be intimidated? (1)
Lin Yiyi had no idea how useful little fresh meats were, but the little fresh meat from her house had been very supportive.
Meng Yuran brought with him a few friends and headed toward Number Two restaurant immediately after school. He masked it as treating his friends to dinner but was actually advertising the place for his mother.
When Xu Jie and the others found out about the second location of his mother’s popular restaurant, they wouldn’t stop talking about it. All of a sudden, everybody in their classroom found out about it!
Meng Yuran’s classmates and even some from the class next to them started spreading the words in between classes. As such, a tad shy of 5:30 PM that evening and before the restaurant had even opened for dinner, there were already dozens of customers waiting in line, many of them high school students and some even brought with them their parents.
Lin Yiyi opened up a private booth for Meng Yuran and his classmates.
It was really just a few spots up on the second floor segmented by some industrial style glasses with gauze curtains over it. That way the seats would be separated from each other and those dining in the lobby but would not give the feeling of being crowded or affect the lighting.
Mainly, it also made the restaurant appear bigger than it was.
This being her second restaurant, everything went much smoother.
The restaurant was located in the golden district, right at the middle of the shopping mall, and also surrounded by high-end office buildings.
Many workers would come over to this area, have lunch, then walk around the mall. Foot traffic was not an issue at all.
Had it not been Lu Xun’s help, this was not an easy location to get.
The teenagers looked around as soon as they walked inside of the restaurant.
They noticed that the décor was very similar to Number One overall. Perhaps in consideration of being busier, this place was bigger than the last. There were even a few private booths, something that Number One didn’t have.
Xu Jie walked right past Meng Yuran and over to Lin Yiyi. His admiration was obvious. “Aunty, I knew you’d do great in the restaurant industry. Look! It has only been four months and you have already opened up a second location. Am I right or am I right?”
He had seen Lin Yiyi’s potential since the first time Meng Yuran brought his mother’s lunch to school.
Xu Jie was very proud of himself.
Lin Yiyi nodded seriously. “You are right. Aunty will treat you to some good food. Any specific requests? I will make them myself.”
Xu Jie was pleasantly surprised when he heard that Lin Yiyi would be making their dishes herself. “Anything that Aunty makes will be tasty… Oh yeah, will there be desserts afterward? I am not picky. Cupcakes or anything will do.”
If he had a little tail behind his back, it would be wagging in excitement right about now.
His fawning attitude was surely an eyesore!
“Don’t bother asking him. I have never seen anything that he refuses to eat,” said Meng Yuran coldly.
What he didn’t say was, he didn’t think there would be anything that Xu Jie wouldn’t eat other than poop. He felt that he had already sugarcoated what he wanted to say.
As soon as Meng Yuran had finished saying that, two people looked over to him angrily.
Xu Jiu glared at him, but then remembering that not only was dinner free, it’d also be prepared by Meng Yuran’s mother, he immediately stopped himself.
Not that he had any complaint about food prepared by other chefs, but he simply felt that Meng Yuran’s mother made the best food!
Could it be that he had tried the lunchbox that was packed with a mother’s love for her son, which was why it tasted so good?
Okay, for the sake of Meng Yuran’s mother, Xu Jie decided to let that one slide.
Didn’t mean he’d forget about this exchange though!
Lin Yiyi, on the other hand, wasn’t as nice to her instant son as his classmate. “Don’t be so mean to your classmate. You must treat your classmates with respect!”
She had no idea how her awkward son even has friends.
Exactly how blind were these three friends of his?
