The Vampire King's Possession-Chapter 39 - . Don’t Go Against His Wishes
Chapter 39: 39. Don't Go Against His Wishes
What are you doing?
Mauve scolded herself but still, she did not stop running. She was fleeing from the situation as she didn't know what to do, didn't know how to react and it was just a little embarrassing to remain there.
She got to the library door and pulled it open. She fled down the hall without hesitation, rushing down the stairs, even the fear of tripping didn't make her slow down. She held onto the railings to avoid an accident.
It wasn't until she got inside her room that she stopped running. She closed the door behind her and leaned against it as she tried to regulate her breathing. Her chest was heaving and it took a while to calm down.
When she had calmed down enough, she climbed into her bed and closed her eyes. She touched her lips as the memory flooded her mind. His lips had been a mixture of cold and warm against hers.
Mauve pulled the sheets over her head in embarrassment. She had acted as a wanton woman, kissing him back viciously and pulling at his hair. He must think there was something wrong with her.
She couldn't even comprehend how she had behaved like that but as soon as his lips touched her, she felt warm all over. She wanted to touch him all over and didn't even realize her actions.
Mauve reddened, the kiss was better than the last one, she had been afraid the very first kiss was good because she imagined it. Now, she was certain she did. She didn't want it to end but she was afraid of her behavior.
She would have ended up embarrassing herself further if she had let it drag on. She wrapped her hands around her body. How would she face him the next time she would see him?
She groaned and rolled, beating herself up. She didn't fall asleep until it was past noon.
She woke up to the Vae opening her door. She sat upright. As soon as Vae caught sight of her, she rushed to her side. "Princess, are you okay?" Her forehead furrowed in worry.
Mauve looked at her with water in her eyes and threw her upper body onto the maid. Vae caught her effortlessly and held onto her. Mauve wrapped her hands around Vae's waist and held.
"Princess," she called softly. "You have to tell me what the problem is so I can help."
She pulled away enough to stare up at Vae's face. "There is something wrong with me." As soon as she said it, she grabbed Vae's waist again.
Vae gently pushed her away and studied Mauve's face. "Are you sick?" Vae asked as her eyes rapidly scanned the princess's as she tried to check what was wrong.

"Yes," Mauve said and nodded her head rapidly.
Vae frowned and placed the back of her palm against Mauve's forehead. "Your temperature is normal but your skin does look a little pale."
"Pale?" Mauve looked horrified. Her hands stretched up to touch her face.
"No, it's not what you think. It must be because you haven't been out in the sun in a while and you haven't left the castle either. Being stuck here can do things to your skin."
"Oh, maybe I will step out a little at dawn."
Vae nodded vigorously, "It would be good for you. Would you like me to make you some tea? It would put color in your cheeks."
"Yes but not yet." Mauve's voice sounded low.
"Oh, did something happen?"
Mauve nodded and buried her head in Vae's waist.
"Something bad?"
Mauve nodded then shook her head, "I don't know."
"Okay, do you want to tell me what happened?"
Mauve wrapped her hands tighter around Vae.
"Princess, I can't help you if you don't tell me what happened."
Mauve groaned, "I ki…" The rest of her words were buried in Vae's waist.
Vae pushed Mauve's face away from her waist. "I can't hear you."
Mauve looked away and pouted. "We kissed." As soon as the words were out of her mouth, she quickly buried her face again.
"Okay," Vae smiled. "What is the problem? That's completely normal."
"That's not normal!" Mauve yelled and looked up at Vae's face. "I pulled his hair."
Vae snickered.
"Vae!" She cried. "You are not helping."
"I am sorry, princess," she said and cleared her throat. "That was rude of me. I apologize."
"I don't need your apology, I need your help. What am I going to do?" She cried.
"Nothing, you did nothing wrong. Stop worrying about it."
Mauve looked at Vae as though she had lost her mind.
Vae chuckled, "Don't look at me like that Princess."
"There is no way that is normal. I am surprised you haven't passed the kissing stage by now."
Mauve eyes widened, "There is more?"
Vae looked dumbfounded, "Of course, there is more. You haven't…" She let the rest of her words trail as she studied Mauve's face.
Mauve reddened as she remembered the incident that led to her torn dress. She buried her face in Vae's waist again.
"Ah, I see. Did it happen…"
"Vae!"
"Okay, I won't talk about it. As I keep telling you, you are married to the Vampire King so these things happen. There is also much more that you haven't done, much more." Vae cupped the princess's face. "Don't go against his wishes."
Mauve removed Vae's hands from her face. "You don't have to tell me," she looked away as she spoke, remembering that she had disobeyed a direct order. "I can't do anything to jeopardize this."
Vae bowed, "I was out of place, Princess."
"Don't worry about it. I am ready to take my bath now." She said with a glum expression.
Vae nodded and pulled the string twice and stood in the corner as she waited for the water. Less than two minutes later, a knock was heard. Vae opened the door to reveal Mack at the other side holding the tub.
