Chapter 384: Chapter 242: No Hope in This Life, Enter Nirvana!

“Buddha’s Son, please speak.”

The Venerable Cien replied hastily, dare not neglect.

“From my perspective, Yinghai Junior Brother, it will be difficult for your cultivation in this life to make progress. Why not abandon this life and re-enter the cycle of rebirth? Start a new life then, only in this way can you achieve Enlightenment.”

The voice of the young Buddha echoed through the treasure hall. At this moment, not only was the Venerable Cien taken aback, but also the Diamond Garlands, Nuns, and monks on both sides were equally shocked and astonished. Yet, not a single monk uttered a word.

“Does Buddha’s Son wish to send this humble monk into the cycle of rebirth?”

Originally downcast due to the reprimand from his master, Yinghai suddenly looked up. He was staring intently at the treasured figure on the high throne, his outstanding stature that made all the monks in the hall yield to him.

“In this life, your opportunities have ended, and there is no longer a chance for you to reach the Fruit Position. If you persist in delusion, you may risk falling into the demonic path.”

Fayuan’s voice was clear and calm, speaking as if it was the most ordinary matter.

However, even for Buddhists who often speak of reincarnation, they wouldn’t choose to be reborn unless they have no other choice. Who wouldn’t want to attain Enlightenment in one lifetime?

Isn’t it because of insufficient merits and inadequate cultivation that people explore the secrets of reincarnation, accumulating the achievements of several life cycles to progress in the next? If it is not achieved in one life cycle, they will go through another, and with enough accumulated wisdom, even the most vulgar and foolish can attain Enlightenment.

But it’s easier said than done. Reincarnation carries great risks, even the most powerful may lose their true spirit. No matter how profound the Buddhist teachings are, a mistake in any life cycle can reduce centuries of cultivation to nothing.

Therefore, if there’s no absolute need, even an Enlightened Monk wouldn’t choose reincarnation, especially for someone like Yinghai who is still in his prime, let alone halfway through an ordinary person’s life. Reincarnation is certainly not their choice.

Only when one’s lifespan is near its end, seeing no future, with no place to retreat and no other option, only then would an Enlightened Monk choose reincarnation. There wouldn’t be any monks who would choose to reincarnate just for the sake of experiencing it multiple times.

“Would I fall into the demonic path?”

Hearing such an evaluation, Yinghai, whose Zen heart has already shattered, showed a cold smile. For him, this was undoubtedly an insult. The reason why he was in such a situation today was because he wanted to guide a Reincarnated Fairy Monarch, who he believed might fall into the demonic path, back to the right one.

“Did Brother Buddha see this through the Destiny Seer Power? Did Brother see what I looked like when I fell into devilry?”

“You beast, who do you think you’re talking to?”

Originally deep in thought due to the shocking words of the Buddha’s son, the Venerable Cien, seeing his disciple’s attitude, felt a surge of anger in his heart.

It was not towards the Buddha’s son, but towards his disciple. He pitied his misfortune and cursed his lack of struggle. This attitude only confirms what Buddha’s Son has said, that there’s no hope for reaching Enlightenment in this life, and if he continues to practice, it will certainly lead to the demonic path.

“Master.”

Yinghai looked at his reprimanding master, puzzled. This Buddha’s son wanted him to abandon his cultivation in this life and enter reincarnation. What did that mean? Didn’t his master understand?

“Buddha’s Son, is it really impossible for my disciple to achieve Enlightenment in this life?”

The Venerable Cien ignored his useless disciple and turned around with a serious look, asking the Buddha’s Son sitting high on the platform.

“His Zen heart is broken, not only is it difficult to achieve Enlightenment, but he may also fall into the demonic path. This humble monk has already seen this scene.”

Fayuan, the son of Buddha, sighed slightly. If his disciple really falls into the demonic path, he would have a part of the karma in it.

If not for his appearance, this disciple should naturally have taken the position of Buddha’s Son in the Heavenly Dragon Zen Temple, not wandering around desolate in other continents, suffering heavy losses and on the verge of collapse.

“Thank you for informing, Buddha’s Son.”

The Venerable Cien deeply bowed to the Buddha’s Son and then slowly turned around, his face serious, looking at the disciple he had raised.

“Master!”

Seeing the expression on the Venerable Cien’s face, Yinghai showed an incredulous look and involuntarily took a step back.

The old monk, watching his disciple’s despondency, showed a bit of pity and hesitation. But shortly, those emotions were replaced by definiteness,

“Yinghai, I, your teacher, will protect the law for you. In few days, you should prepare for passing away and reincarnation for a new start.”

“Master…”

Listening to the words of the kind and gentle old monk before him, Yinghai felt as if he had been struck by a bolt from the blue. His body was trembling, his steps faltering as he retreated a few steps back.

Yinghai’s face, which was initially filled with anger, now showed a look of despair. But shortly, he even lost the despair, becoming dull, his eyes dull and dim.

“I will follow the master’s orders!”

“Ah!”

Seeing his disciple in such a desolate state, the Venerable Cien couldn’t help but sigh. If he said he wasn’t heartbroken, it was a lie, after all, this was the disciple he had raised.

However, he had to think about his future. Given his disciple’s current state, even if he could cure his physical injuries and even the scars of his spirit, he could manage to ask Arhat Bodhisattva to help, but his Zen heart was already broken and the word ‘fall into the demonic path’ was certainly not false.

If this is the case, it would be better to seal off the memories of this life, leaving only a trace of the True Spirit, and be reborn. With his qualification of being at Heavenly Dragon, in the next life, with proper arrangements and plans, he would definitely achieve something.

“Buddha’s Son, please allow this humble monk to leave with his disciple.”
