The Undercover Heir is Actually Tycoon's Secret Girlfriend-Chapter 460 - 379
One hour before the registration deadline, Rong Zhi’s team successfully arrived at Central City in A State. Just off the plane, they jumped into the car arranged by Jing Ji and headed straight to the registration site.
All the doctors participating in the Medical Alliance assessment were uniformly arranged at Gorla Palace in Central City.
The palace, built by A State nobility with their investment, was resplendent and unique. The rental cost was as high as its decorations, viable for the wealthy Medical Alliance to lease the entire palace from the nobility.
The registration point set by the Medical Alliance was right in the first room on the left at the palace entrance. Rong Zhi glanced at her phone screen and asked Ying Hengxiang to fill in the information while she replied to someone’s message.
"How did you get here?"
A female voice rang out from the doorway, speaking familiar Mandarin in a tone that immediately indicated it was one of their own.
Another girl in the team, Bai Liang, turned abruptly and stared at the girl with pigtails by the door, questioning, "Ren Caiyun, why did you give us the wrong registration time?"
There were no other acquaintances present, and Ren Caiyun didn’t shrink back as she might have in her home country. She stepped forward and sarcastically retorted, "I have so many things to busy myself with every day, it’s normal to misread the time. Besides, didn’t you make it on time? No harm done."
"What do you mean, no harm done?" Bai Liang nearly exploded from her indifferent tone, putting her hands on her hips and raising her voice, "Missing the registration means missing the assessment. I don’t need to tell you how important this assessment is for us and the research institute."
"How can you just brush it off with ’no harm done’?!"
Luckily, besides the Medical Alliance staff, no one else was around, or their argument would certainly have attracted attention from all sides.
Ying Hengxiang handed over the completed registration form, which was stamped, and he was given three golden copper keys.
Rong Zhi looked at the time displayed at the top of her screen, arriving neither too early nor too late, just on time to register before the deadline.
She raised her head, looking at Bai Liang, who seemed ready to rush forward and argue with Ren Caiyun like a little beast. She patted her on the shoulder, "Let me."
Bai Liang was taken aback, meeting the slightly cool eyes of the girl. She pursed her lips and said softly, "If you can’t win the argument, just call me; I’m really good at fighting."
Rong Zhi nodded, seriously replying, "Okay."
Ren Caiyun observed the girl walking towards her, maintaining the same imposing demeanor. The suffocating feeling, as if her throat was being squeezed, returned from a couple of days ago.
She clenched the flesh beside her leg to steady her mind, stubbornly saying in a cold voice, "It was indifferent if you came or not. No matter how great your medical skills are, academic qualifications and reputation are the focus of joining the Medical Alliance besides passing the assessment."
So this was her final and greatest trump card.
Before Rong Zhi gained fame, she was already somewhat renowned in the medical field, having attended several medical seminars with Tang Xuyun. Although she could only observe from the sidelines, it was a recognition of her medical skills and achievements.
And Rong Zhi? Aside from some unsubstantiated fame, she doesn’t even have a professional certificate. How can she compete with me?
Bai Liang felt a headache coming on just hearing this and immediately wanted to rush forward to confront her, but the girl blocked her way, looking down coldly at Ren Caiyun, "You..."
Just as she started to speak, her phone in hand suddenly vibrated. Her lips pressed into a thin line as she answered the call.
Ren Caiyun’s elevated apprehension suddenly eased halfway, placing her hand over her chest. Seeing Rong Zhi busy on the phone, she continued her mocking.
"Even if I gave you the correct registration time, so what? Besides Senior Sister Xia and Ying Hengxiang, the rest of your group are amateurs, not even worth my interest to compete. If the research institute has a group that can enter the Medical Alliance, it can only be Group B..."
She kept babbling on like an annoyingly noisy fly, and Rong Zhi furrowed her brow slightly, stepping back noticeably to avoid her.
The person on the other end sounded puzzled, "Miss Nine, why is it so noisy over there?"
Rong Zhi replied calmly, "It’s nothing, what’s up?"
She didn’t explain the situation with Ren Caiyun, and as Ren Caiyun saw Rong Zhi not responding at all to her taunts, she naturally assumed it was out of guilt, the irony in her eyes becoming more pronounced.
"Have you already arrived in A State?"
Rong Zhi noticed Ren Caiyun’s gaze but didn’t bother with it, responding to Demmi’s inquiry with an acknowledging hum.
Demmi immediately broke into a smile, "Please wait for me; I’ll be there right away."
He happened to be at the headquarters of the Medical Alliance in A State, had prior notice of Rong Zhi’s arrival, and took a job just to come greet her.
After ending the call, Rong Zhi ignored Ren Caiyun, instructing Ying Hengxiang and the others to find a spot to wait here.
Ren Caiyun was suddenly left in a lurch, unable to advance or retreat, and with a sullen face, she wanted to argue with Rong Zhi.
Just then, an elderly man in a Medical Alliance uniform stepped out of the elevator. Standing by the door, his wise little eyes scanned the area until he spotted the girl playing with her phone by the entrance, swiftly putting on a bright smile as he moved towards her.
Ren Caiyun recognized him as Professor Demmi, a second-level medical practitioner and renowned brain specialist in the Medical Alliance.
He was the one who had earlier led her and other teams to arrange rooms.
Seeing him heading over, Ren Caiyun assumed he was coming to her for something, quickly adjusting her demeanor with a sweet smile, "Professor Demmi...?"
Her voice paused slightly, blinking in confusion as she watched Demmi bypass her effortlessly.
Then she gawked as Demmi walked over to the person she now detested the most, stopping in front of the girl, respectfully bending halfway with a familiar smile, "Miss Nine, long time no see."
Rong Zhi lightly supported him, asking, "Why are you here?"
"I heard from the young master that you were coming to the Medical Alliance for the assessment, so I took a task here and came to learn from you," Demmi straightened up quickly, avoiding her support.
Everyone was a bit puzzled seeing him act this way, particularly Ren Caiyun, who was stunned on the spot, taking a while to respond with a stiff smile, "Professor Demmi, what’s your relationship with Rong... Zhi?"
When she called Rong Zhi’s name, her tone was rather odd, her heart filled with reluctance.
Demmi had a slight impression of the relatively well-behaved girl and explained upon her inquiry, "You’re referring to Miss Nine? She is considered half my teacher."
Half... teacher?!
If this had come from Ying Hengxiang, they might have found it believable, but hearing it from Demmi left everyone, including Ying Hengxiang and his team, in a daze.
No one expected Rong Zhi to know Demmi, and from their conversation, it was revealed that Demmi, responsible for their assessment accommodation this time, was even here because of Rong Zhi.
Ren Caiyun felt so embarrassed she wished she could disappear, her face looking as if she swallowed several pounds of dung.
No matter how they reacted, Demmi made a gesture of invitation, his manner warm and congenial, "Come, I’ll take you to your room."
