The Undercover Heir is Actually Tycoon's Secret Girlfriend-Chapter 456 - 375
The October autumn wind gradually turned cold, with fallen leaves swirling down, laying a golden carpet on the campus walkways, crunching underfoot.
Students on the verge of being late clutched their books and sprinted down the road, "Oh crap, hurry up! If we’re any later, we won’t even have seats!"
"You really think there’ll be seats for Rong Zhi’s class?" another female student, following behind and out of breath, had to stop for a second to catch her breath. When she raised her head again, she saw her roommate vanishing into the distance, leaving her with the image of a fast-retreating back.
"Hey, wait for me!"
It was well-known that the courses at Jing University’s Mechanics Department were hard to get into and always full, among them, the few classes taught by Rong Zhi were the hardest to get into, with every seat filled.
Some who couldn’t find seats but still wanted to attend had to accept crouching in the aisles and the remaining open spaces to listen.
-
Rong Zhi had recently been shuttling back and forth between the Medical Department and the Mechanics Department, sometimes having video conferences with Ying Cenchuan or Song Lichen in the evenings.
She had been busy for a whole two months and finally got a moment of relaxation after a test, but before she could rest for a day, she was called by Tang Xuyun’s phone call to Lan’er Sanatorium.
"The World Medical Alliance released the latest recruitment assessment standards two hours ago." Tang Xuyun turned the laptop toward Rong Zhi, conveniently lowering the display to make it easier for her to see.
The World Medical Alliance, founded fifty years ago in the central A State, possesses the world’s most advanced medical technology and equipment and the deepest medical knowledge, making it the dream medical sanctuary for all doctors.
It periodically holds a recruitment assessment allowing aspirants with ideals and abilities from all over the world to apply; those who excel gain entry into the Medical Alliance.
Entering the Alliance is every doctor’s dream because it symbolizes not only status but also a formidable affirmation of one’s medical skills.
Countless doctors apply each time, but only very few manage to succeed in gaining entry.
Rong Zhi had heard a bit about this alliance, but she wasn’t interested. Even Fu Liang, who always hoped she would inherit his mantle, seemed never to have mentioned this to her.
She quickly skimmed through the newly released assessment standards of the Medical Alliance, raised her delicate eyebrows slightly, and slowly said, "You want me to participate?"
This year’s assessment targeted global enrollment from higher medical institutions, including but not limited to students and already renowned professors.
The literal meaning provided by the Medical Alliance is to give an opportunity to everyone in the world who loves medicine, which is why they temporarily changed the rules.
In previous years, they did not allow students to participate in the assessments.
Otherwise, Tang Xuyun wouldn’t have thought to contact her.
"Yes," Tang Xuyun intertwined his fingers and placed them on the table, looking up at her, "I want you to either pick someone from the Medical Research Institute or the school, to participate in this Medical Alliance assessment."
Rong Zhi pushed the laptop back toward him, then settled into the soft chair, her legs crossed languidly, chin resting on her hand, her eyes narrowed slightly, with an inscrutable expression, pondering over something.
She was scheduled to fly to A State at the end of the year, just as the Medical Alliance was there, with no conflicts in her schedule.
"Hmm," she flicked her eyelids, speaking with little emotion, "Pick the right people and send me the information."
Tang Xuyun blinked, seemingly in disbelief, "You agreed?"
He had prepared for a prolonged persuasion battle, yet this time she agreed so easily?
"There’s something over there I need to handle," Rong Zhi didn’t elaborate, tapping her forehead slowly, "Any other questions?"
Tang Xuyun hurriedly waved his hand, "No, no, that’s it, I won’t disturb you anymore, go back and rest."
All those familiar with Rong Zhi knew she was busy, so unless it was an important matter, they rarely approached her.
Rong Zhi nodded, stood up, and left.
Just as she left, Tang Xuyun quickly compiled a list of individuals he thought suitable for the assessment.
Even though Rong Zhi did not enter the Medical Research Institute, her name was known to everyone there. Once the news that she was forming a team to participate in the Medical Alliance assessment got out, many people in the Medical Department came forward, wanting to join her team.
However, Tang Xuyun only reserved two spots for Jing University Medical Department, and with so many people and so few spots, it inevitably caused friction.
Even with only two spots, no one was willing to join any other team.
After responding to a junior’s message, Ren Caiyun tightened her grip on her phone, finally muttering with a darkened expression, "What the hell, everyone’s flocking to her."
Though they were all about the same age and their grades weren’t too different, she was a Grade A member of the Medical Research Institute, yet how could she not stack up against someone as flamboyant and all show as Rong Zhi? 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝙬𝙚𝓫𝒏𝓸𝓿𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝙤𝓶
Ren Caiyun was fuming.
Since the Medical Alliance assessment standards had been released, she had also applied to Tang Xuyun to lead a team, becoming one of the only two teams from the Research Institute.
But compared to Rong Zhi’s overwhelmingly crowded scene, her side was so deserted that she had just a few people to choose from.
Ren Caiyun poked at her phone screen, almost wishing she could dash up and shout for them to wake up and be sensible.
Ding dong—
An alert sounded on her phone, and Ren Caiyun exhaled, suppressing her pent-up annoyance as she unlocked the screen to reply to the message.
She’d have plenty of chances to confront Rong Zhi in the future; for now, she would endure.

The early November morning in Beijing was so cold it made people shiver. Su Shaoguang sneezed upon waking up, wrapping herself in a blanket and groggily asking, "Zhi Zhi, you’re heading out?"
The girl wore a pure white camisole, with two thin straps on her shoulders, her neck long and connected to her beautifully shaped collarbone. Su Shaoguang squinted, glanced downward, then quickly turned her head away, her cheeks quietly reddening.
"Mm, going to the Research Institute." The girl, unaware of her little action, picked up a hoodie draped over the sofa armrest and casually slipped it on, concealing her elegant curves.
Su Shaoguang nodded, her nasal tone heavy, "Be careful driving; it rained last night, the roads outside are slippery."
Rong Zhi glanced at her from the corner of her eye, said nothing, shouldered her bag, walked to the door to put on her shoes, and just before leaving, she suddenly spoke, "There’s cold medicine on the dining table; have it before you sleep again."
Su Shaoguang was momentarily stunned, her illness-dulled brain not yet registering when the dorm door clicked shut. She jolted fully awake, quickly turning her head toward the dining table.
A cup of brewed brown medicinal concoction sat there, steam rising from its surface. Su Shaoguang sniffled, only now realizing the room’s high temperature contrasted starkly with the frost-covered windows.
It wasn’t yet time for the heating to be turned on in Beijing, yet the dormitory had the floor heating on.
Next to the cold medicine was millet porridge, simmered soft and sweet. Even though Su Shaoguang had no appetite, she couldn’t resist downing it all in one go, her stomach warmed, her eyes teared up from gratitude.
She immediately dug out her phone and sent a WeChat message to Rong Zhi.
Rong Zhi had just driven her car out of the school grounds when she received Su Shaoguang’s message— a stream of heart emojis filling the left side of the screen, clearly showing how happy she was.
She replied with a few words, tossed her phone onto the passenger seat, and pressed down on the accelerator, heading toward the Medical Research Institute.
