The Tyrant's Stolen Bride-Chapter 139: Time to Fulfill
Morning sunlight streamed through the thin curtains, spilling warm rays across the room. Mia propped herself up on her elbows and looked at the man beside her.
The tips of her fingers grazed his torso.
He had the kind of body women desired—all sculpted muscle and strength.
One word appeared in her mind.
Monster.
Her body ached as if it might break.
Mia slid off the bed, intending to wash up, but her legs felt weak as she walked, forcing her to push herself forward.
She stood in front of the mirror, toothbrush in hand. Then she froze, blinking at her own reflection. Her neck and breasts were marked with deep, reddened traces he had left behind.
He had been relentless, leaving his hunger etched across her skin.
Between her thighs, the lingering evidence remained—slick and full from him.
A quiet bloom of satisfaction settled in her chest. The first step had been a success.
Now she could only wait until next month, hoping her period would not come. Otherwise, she would have to repeat everything when he returned.
"Morning."
Theo’s deep voice greeted her as soon as she opened the bathroom door.
He kicked the blanket aside and rose from the bed, completely naked.
Mia quickly grabbed a robe and threw it at him.
"Please... don’t do that in the daytime," she said, feeling strange seeing him like this.
Last night had been different—the lights were dim, so she hadn’t seen him so clearly.
He chuckled and slowly stepped toward her. She flinched as his hand reached for her.
"Why... want to pick up where we left off?" he asked, teasingly.
"No—last night was enough." Mia quickly stepped back and hurried to get dressed.
Theo laughed before heading into the shower.
When he came out of the bathroom, Mia was already seated, picking at the meal that had been delivered by the hotel staff.
"Get dressed and come eat with me."
Theo raised his brows, surprised. This time, she had waited for him. Usually, after seeing him, she would rush off without hesitation.
He dressed quickly and joined her, his attention fixed on her as he chewed.
She had been acting strangely since yesterday. Her outfit was a little revealing.
And now... she seemed as if she had done something wrong.
"How long is your next mission?" Mia asked.
"Three, maybe four months. Depends how things go."
Mia nodded, feeling a quiet satisfaction in her heart.
He wouldn’t bother her for several months.
After a brief breakfast, Theo returned to the military base, and Mia went back to work. They didn’t contact each other after that, as his schedule didn’t allow it.
The following month, Mia noticed that her period hadn’t come. Soon, she confirmed that she was pregnant—just as she had hoped.
She felt a sense of relief that she wouldn’t have to go through that painful process again. Mia just wasn’t sure whether she should tell Theo or not, since she had lied to him that night.
Theo was merely a tool she used to make her plan succeed.
She had been keeping her mouth shut about her illness.
It was a month before they slept together that she collapsed at work. The doctor who treated her noticed the signs immediately and told her father the truth.
Since that day, the air in the Chavan household had changed.
Her mother was the most devastated. Marce, once cheerful, now spent most of her time crying quietly in her room.
It was hurt to see her mother try to hide it behind a smile.
Mia regretted that she had previously ignored her mother’s wishes for grandchildren, brushing the topic aside whenever it came up at the breakfast table.
She had been ignorant of her fate, unaware of what the future held. Now time was running out.
At the very least, she had to bear a child to fulfill her mother’s wish before she was gone.
And the only man she could trust—the one worthy and capable—was him. He had all the qualities of a good man, and his family was honorable.
Mia was confident that her child would turn out well, just like him.
Besides, it wasn’t hard to seduce him when he already had feelings for her.
After confirming her pregnancy, she stopped her medications, knowing they could harm the baby. She refused treatment, determined to protect her child.
As a result, her brain tumor was worsening. Her body grew weaker by the day, and now she was unable to continue working as she once had.
Only now did Theo understand the slaps he had received the moment he arrived.
He cupped her hand with both of his, his head resting against it, wet with tears.
She frowned. This wasn’t what she had anticipated.
"If you keep behaving like this, I won’t see you anymore. It’s only making my heart heavier... and it could be bad for the baby."
Theo nodded slowly. "Okay... okay. I’m sorry."
He wiped his tears and sat upright.
Theo remembered back then, when she had suddenly appeared in Mistvale. At the time, she had said she was looking for a neurologist.
"How could you hide it from me?" Theo demanded, staring at her.
"There was nothing you could do, even if you had known."
He drew a deep breath, steadying his emotions. Mia had been selfish, yet he couldn’t bring himself to be angry with her.
How could she say such a thing, when he could do so much?
"Mia... give me a chance. Let’s register our marriage. It would be better if our child is born legitimate. Besides, with the time we have left, at least we can have those moments together."
Mia shook her head. "I’m sorry. If I marry you, you’ll take me away from this house. The time I have left belongs only to my family."
Theo lowered his gaze, disappointed but understanding. What she said was true. Her family deserved the time she had left more than anyone.
Still, it didn’t mean he couldn’t do something.
"After we’re married, you can stay here. Spend your time with your family. I’ll come and visit as often as I can."
There was a knock at the door. Peter came in to deliver tea and froze when he saw Theo’s red eyes. He quickly set the tray down and left without a word.
