The Tycoon's Odyssey-Chapter 430 - :Atlantis On Fire[II]
Suri stood beside the golden-haired man who had materialized in reality. It was none other than the system. Despite existing within Evan’s consciousness, it was able to connect to the real world through VR, allowing it to manifest anywhere.
He had stepped out for a walk when he spotted Suri, her gaze fixed on the rows of pods below. The soft hum of advanced machinery filled the air, signalling the progress of the upgrades.
"Are all of them still upgrading?" Suri asked, her voice laced with curiosity and a hint of concern.
"Yeah," System replied with a calm smile. "Their body reconstruction is complete. Now, they’re going through mental stabilization to ensure everything aligns perfectly."
System was about to add something when the room suddenly lit up with flashing red warning lights.
"Aurora, what hap—"
BOOM!
A deafening explosion cut him off, shaking the entire facility. The ground trembled violently, and a blinding light filled the space. Suri’s eyes widened in shock as the impact sent a ripple of energy through the room.
"System, what’s going on?" she asked, struggling to keep her voice steady.
[Miss, we’ve been hit,] Aurora’s voice rang out. [A laser beam struck us from 800 kilometers away.]
"What?" Both System and Suri gasped in unison.

[Sir, it’s a spaceship.]
_____
Outside the Base.
Beyond the floating city of Atlantis, the Fog of the Devil’s Triangle twisted and churned as beams of destructive energy pierced through it.
The plasma shield surrounding Town Atlantis flared brilliantly, absorbing the impact. Each collision was like a thunderclap, shaking the earth and sky.
The first beam struck hard, sending shockwaves rippling outward, while the second erupted in a blinding explosion, scattering debris across the area.
The sheer force of the blast swept away the thick fog that cloaked the region, revealing the massive spaceship looming above. It was a behemoth of alien design, sleek and menacing, with glowing veins of energy pulsating like veins along its hull.
Atlantis responded swiftly. Defense systems activated, and the base shifted into combat mode. Hidden compartments slid open, revealing towering turrets and massive cannons that hummed with power.
[Photon Cascade engaged!] Aurora announced the activation of Atlantis’ primary weapon.
The Photon Cascade fired, unleashing a brilliant stream of concentrated laser energy that tore through the sky, aimed directly at the spaceship. The beam struck the spaceship’s barrier, creating a dazzling collision of light and sound, but the alien ship’s barrier shimmered, absorbing the energy and reflecting some of it back.
BOOM! BOOM!
The counterattack was swift. The spaceship launched plasma-based artillery, each shot precise and devastating. The plasma hit the shield surrounding Atlantis, sending ripples of energy to dance across its surface. Some projectiles exploded on impact, their shockwaves threatening to destabilize the base’s defenses.
_____
Inside the base.
The intensity of the battle was palpable.
Suri gripped railings as the entire facility rattled, beads of sweat forming on her forehead. Her eyes were glued to the live feed of the battle being displayed on the holographic screens.
"This is insane," she murmured, her voice trembling. "It’s like something out of a nightmare."
System rested his hand on his chin, deep in thought.
’It seems things aren’t going well on his end as well.’
[Miss Suri, we’ve prepared for this.]
Aurora’s voice interrupted their moment. [The enemy ship’s power levels are reading at 92% capacity. It’s equipped with a multi-layered barrier that reflects energy attacks and a core reactor capable of sustained firepower for hours. Their weaponry includes plasma cannons and particle disruptors."]
Suri frowned. "What about Atlantis? How are we holding up?"
[Our power levels are at 85%. The plasma shield has absorbed most of the damage, but some outer structures have been compromised. Defensive turrets are operating at 90% efficiency, and Photon Cascade is recharging—two minutes until the next shot. Minimal internal damage has been sustained.]
Suri nodded, her mind racing as she processed the information. "Good. We’ve done well so far. But we need to bring that ship down before it gets any closer."
She then turned to Aurora.
"Activate the Molecular Disruption Protocol. Target their barrier."
Aurora’s holographic form flickered as she responded. [Understood. Engaging Molecular Disruption.]
_____
Outside.
The base’s weapons shifted tactics. A series of smaller, precision beams, designed to destabilize molecular bonds, fired at the alien ship’s barrier. The beams shimmered as they struck the reflective shield, slowly eating away at its integrity.
The alien ship retaliated by launching a barrage of particle disruptors that struck with terrifying force, shaking the very foundation of Atlantis.
BOOM! CRACK!
The air was filled with the sound of explosions and the hum of high-energy weaponry. The space around the base seemed to vibrate as the two forces clashed. The Photon Cascade fired again, this time piercing through a section of the enemy’s barrier.
"Direct hit!" Suri exclaimed, her grip on the System tightening.
Aurora’s voice cut in. [The enemy ship’s barrier is weakening. It’s down to 65%. However, they’ve activated a secondary defense mechanism.]
System’s eyes narrowed. "What kind of mechanism?"
[It’s emitting an electromagnetic pulse field, disrupting our targeting systems.]
Suri cursed under his breath. "Aurora, counter it with a precision EMP burst. Disable their pulse field."
[On it, Mam.]
Within seconds, Atlantis fired a targeted electromagnetic pulse, neutralizing the alien ship’s interference. The battle escalated as both sides unleashed even more firepower. The alien ship’s hull began to show signs of damage, cracks forming along its surface as Atlantis’ weapons found their mark.
System smirked, "Thankfully, Evan has upgraded everything. If he hadn’t, he might’ve been grounded by that firepower."
Suri shot him a look, her expression a mix of admiration and disbelief. "He always seems to be one step ahead."

System chuckled. "He always had his suspicions about Thompson and those ancient structures for a long time. They all pointed to something extraterrestrial. Aurora’s universal-level processing made decoding their origins almost a child’s play."
He paused, his gaze hardening. "Earth was once a base station for these beings. They guided humanity’s early tribes to prosperity while keeping their true nature hidden. We don’t know exactly what type of aliens they are or when they arrived—but it’s clear they’re not here for peace."
Suri nodded, her resolve firm. "So, what’s the plan?"
System’s lips curved into a determined smile. "Believe in him. He is going to take them down—no matter what."
Aurora’s voice chimed in. [Molecular Disruption is at 50% effectiveness. The enemy ship’s barrier is down to 40%. Shall we proceed with Phase Two?]
"Do it," Suri commanded.
The battle raged on as Atlantis unleashed its full arsenal, its weapons hammering the alien ship relentlessly. The enemy ship’s barrier flickered, struggling to hold as the Molecular Disruption Protocol continued its work. The ground beneath Atlantis trembled as the alien ship launched one final desperate attack.
