The Tycoon's Enchanted Mermaid-Chapter 53 - : You Provoked Me First
Chapter 53: Chapter 53: You Provoked Me First
As a private doctor, Zhu Yu, the worker, of course dared not ask too many questions, despite his curiosity about the girl’s origins.
“Excuse me.” With polite apology, Zhu Yu squatted down and, with hands clad in white gloves, grasped Ah Da’s calf and pulled it slightly apart to take a closer look at the wound.
Soon, his brows furrowed, for the wound was quite strange, resembling that of a small steel tube piercing through instantaneously. It was very deep and perfectly circular, without any wrinkled edges from stretching.
Such force, such a depth that almost went through the calf. Could even an adult bear it?
Zhu Yu slowly looked up and saw the little girl blinking her big eyes at him, her porcelain-white face showing not a hint of discomfort.
“Is it serious?”
...
Ah Da couldn’t help asking. The doctor had finished examining her and was silent, looking at her with such a surprised expression that she was getting a little nervous and unsure.
“No.” Zhu Yu let go of her leg, stood up, and while taking disinfectant tools from his medical box, reported to Qin Yu, “The wound on Miss’s leg has stopped bleeding and is not a big problem. She just needs to be careful of inflammation and infection from now on.”
Ah Da immediately looked at Qin Yu, who was already sitting beside her, and saw him holding the pearl she had dropped. Blushing, she quickly snatched it and hid it away, not forgetting to beat him to the punch in diverting the topic while meeting his teasing gaze.
“You see, the doctor said it’s nothing serious.”
Qin Yu rubbed her head gently and said faintly, “We should indeed be glad it’s nothing serious, but still, you need to learn a lesson. If you can get hurt at home, isn’t it even more dangerous outside?”
Upon hearing this, Ah Da’s alarm bells rang, and she quickly hugged his hand, urgently pleading, “Qin Yu, don’t be like this. I need to go out, I’m going out in a couple of days. Sister Qingtong and I have made plans, you can’t let me break my promise.”
Just as Qin Yu was about to speak, a soft touch came to his cheek. He was startled. The little girl boldly completed her misdeed, then retreated, her cheeks flushed, earnestly begging him with hopeful eyes.
“Don’t confine me, okay?”
Qin Yu’s eyes darkened as he reached out his long hand to grasp her delicate neck, pulling her close with a bit of force, his gaze falling on her soft lips as he asked in a low voice,
“Who did you learn this from? You’re getting more and more presumptuous.”
Daring to use this method to plead with him, did she really think he was a gentleman who would do nothing? Qin Yu was both infuriated and helpless, his mood unwittingly swayed by her.
Though he did not want to admit it.
Ah Da’s cheeks grew redder. She, too, had been taken aback in her urgency, her mind clouding over without much thought; she just wanted to quickly get him to agree. She had seen this method of asking for favors in TV dramas before, with an extremely high success rate.
“…on TV,” Ah Da answered quietly and honestly.
Qin Yu chuckled, his fingertip rolling across the corner of her mouth, “You should watch less of these messy shows in the future.”
Ah Da grumbled internally, refusing to believe those were messy shows; she had indeed learned a lot, and besides, she had kissed him just now, and he seemed quite happy, not angry at all.
However, to be allowed out, Ah Da still promised.
“Got it.”
The young girl nodded her head, the soft strands of hair beside her ear and on her forehead swaying gently, her demeanor so docile it made one’s heart itch.
Qin Yu’s gaze was deep as he pinched her chin, “Remember, you provoked me first, don’t regret it.”
“What?”
Ah Da’s mouth fell open in confusion, not understanding his meaning, but he had already withdrawn, sitting upright, and signaled to Zhu Yu and the others that they could bandage Ah Da’s wound.
The incident was witnessed by Zhu Yu and the rest, but a kiss on the cheek seemed too childish to stir up any excitement among them. Ah Da, unaware, felt so embarrassed when she remembered there were many people in the living room that she bowed her head and said no more.
The doctors worked efficiently together, quickly disinfecting and bandaging the wound; Zhu Yu informed Qin Yu of things to be mindful of, like diet and avoiding contact with water, before packing up and leaving.
Ah Da watched the large clock in the hall, it was approaching eleven. Her mind was preoccupied with two pending concerns.
The first thing was that Qin Yu had someone bring Su Qingtong over, and the second was whether she herself could still leave. Previously, she had been full of confidence, but after just now, she had lost her nerve.
Did he agree or not?
Ah Da, with thick bandages wrapped around her calf, looked resentfully at the man sitting elegantly and nobly beside her. He nonchalantly leaned on the end of the sofa, elbow propped on the armrest, his posture lazy and casual, as if he hadn’t noticed her gaze.
“Qin Yu…”
Qin Yu turned his head, and as Ah Da was about to speak, Uncle Wen suddenly walked in, with Wen Min trailing behind him, bound at the hands and dragged in.
Ah Da was astonished. While speaking upstairs, she had only mentioned seeing Wen Min carrying a wooden block. At the time, Qin Yu’s expression was unreadable, and she thought he might not wish to pursue the matter.
After all, Uncle Wen was his man.
The contemplative Ah Da was unexpectedly pulled to Qin Yu’s side without warning, pressed close against his waist.
Their bodies tightly pressed together, the rustle of their clothes rubbing, the man’s cold fragrance enveloping her, along with that domineering hand at her waist—all of this made Ah Da feel uncomfortable.
As soon as she tried to pull away slightly, she was immediately pulled back. Qin Yu pinched her waist and warned in a low voice, “Don’t move. What are you afraid of? Where did your boldness go when you stole a kiss earlier?”
Ah Da was embarrassed, her face flushing as she glared at him.
She was beginning to regret her impulsive action. Would Qin Yu now always tease her about it?
A sense of dread suddenly struck Ah Da’s heart. It was over; she felt like she had dug herself into an abyss.
On the expensive white sofa, the tall and handsome man held a stunning young girl in his arms, their eyes conveying a vaguely ambiguous interaction, which made Wen Min feel like her eyes were about to burst, struggling to stand but being forced to kneel by the weight on her shoulders.
Uncle Wen stood next to her with a grave expression, hands clasped over his stomach as he quietly waited for Qin Yu’s decision.
“Uncle Wen, what do you think about this matter?”
Qin Yu’s light voice drifted down from above, and Uncle Wen’s aged face remained unflustered. As usual, he bent respectfully towards Qin Yu, “Wen Min has made a grave mistake by bringing something dangerous here. The crime is unforgivable. She is at the mercy of the young master.”

“Wuu wuu wuu…”
Wen Min’s eyes widened in desperation, staring fixedly at Uncle Wen, not sure if she was pleading with him to save her or disbelief at how easily her grandfather abandoned her.
Uncle Wen kept bending over, motionless.
Qin Yu lifted a hand gently, signaling the subordinate to remove the gag from Wen Min’s mouth, as he needed information about the wooden block from her.
Once her mouth was free, Wen Min collapsed to the floor, gasping heavily. Her originally delicate face was flushed, her hair in disarray hanging over her mouth and forehead, a picture of distress.
Qin Yu took the wooden block from Ah Da’s hands. It was smooth to the touch, with runes carved on the surface, not like wood at all, but rather with a jade-like texture, also heavier than he had expected.
“Speak, the origin and purpose of this object, including the person behind you.”
“You only have one chance.”
The wooden block was tossed down, rolling to a stop in front of Wen Min.
Wen Min shuddered all over, propping herself up on her hands and slowly lifting her head to look up at the man sitting high on the sofa.
That gaze, as if looking down at ants, pierced deeply into her heart.
The person she had admired from the first moment she saw him as a proud and aloof young man, his indifferent eyes like mountaintop snow. The more he was like this, the more she longed for his favor, imagining for many years that one day she would be noticed by him.
But not like this—never like this!
