the two-faced Adopted Girl Who Melted CEO's Ice-Cold Heart-Chapter 992: Because You’re Too Good-Looking
Crystal Landon forced a fake smile at Balthazar Howard, and continued speaking with excitement to Hawk Howard about her requirements: "I want a small yard; it must be quiet, with good landscaping, preferably pre-decorated. I don’t have time to supervise renovations. Not too big, about a hundred square meters will do."
Damn, Drake Howard thought this wasn’t right. This posture was like having a foot in two boats, holding onto Richard Shaw in one hand and their family’s fourth in the other. This girl is fierce even when fighting. No, this won’t do.
"Crystal, the house you’re talking about will cost at least 70 or 80 million. Do you have that much money?" Drake Howard tried hard to interject.
"Uncle, it’s impolite to eavesdrop on people’s conversations." Crystal Landon rolled her eyes. Last time he reported to Richard Shaw about her climbing walls, and she hadn’t settled that score yet.
Drake Howard looked frustrated; he was clearly listening openly.
Hawk Howard watched Richard Shaw’s Hummer drive away, puckered his lips, and said blandly, "Your fiancé drove off with your sister."
Crystal Landon’s smile froze. She turned around to see where Richard Shaw’s Hummer was, but it was gone. This infuriated her so much she kicked the black Maybach in front of her.
Balthazar Howard’s face twisted with heartache when he saw his beloved car being kicked.
"Shall I drive and chase them?" Hawk Howard suggested.
"Where’s the car?" Crystal Landon asked, quickly jumping into Hawk Howard’s car.
Drake Howard, feeling somewhat weary, quickly called Richard Shaw.
"Old Richard, you left your fiancée behind? You know, that girl is now entangled with our family’s fourth." Drake Howard rattled off a series of complaints, then realized the call had been hung up, leaving him feeling utterly defeated.
Hawk Howard took Crystal Landon not to chase the black Hummer but drove all the way to Clear Creek Bay instead.
"Feeling down?" Hawk Howard noticed Crystal Landon sitting in the passenger seat, staring blankly, and couldn’t help but ask lightly.
"Not very down, I’m used to it," Crystal Landon propped her chin, side-glancing at the elegant and gentlemanly Caspian Howard, sighing, "He’s disliked me since childhood, always avoids me."
"Maybe it’s because you’re too beautiful," Caspian Howard said with a faint smile.
Crystal Landon was amused, waving her hand with a laugh, "Richard Shaw is just a block of wood. I even doubt he sees any difference between men and women, not beauty and ugliness."
"Want to go racing?" Caspian Howard’s mood hadn’t been great recently, but he has better self-control and patience, so it doesn’t show much.
"No, I want to catch some air."
Hawk Howard stopped the car at a nearby convenience store, then brought back a bag of snacks and beer, cocktails, and drove up the mountain near Clear Creek Bay.
An hour later, the two sat atop the mountain, gazing at the starry sky. Hawk Howard turned on the headlights, spread out an old camping cloth from the trunk, and they sat on the ground eating snacks and drinking beer.
"Why didn’t you buy fried chicken? They say fried chicken goes best with beer," Crystal Landon sat atop the mountain, feeling the breeze made her mood better, and opened her arms uninhibitedly.
"Because the beer is for me, you can only have cocktails," Hawk Howard took the beer from in front of her, propped his hands behind him, looking at the sky, and spoke faintly.
Crystal Landon mimicked his posture, stargazing, and asked, "Caspian, why don’t the people I like ever like me back?"
"Feelings between people depend on fate," Hawk Howard’s handsome face half-hidden in the night.
Crystal Landon nodded, many things cannot be forced, but some obsessions require hitting the wall with bloodied head before turning around.
