Chapter 955: Chapter 955: Reunion Over Warm Wine, Farewell in Silent Parting

Sylvester followed his second uncle, Yunjing, into the small villa, surrounded by mountains and clear waters, with lush green grass in front. The flower trees in the yard, over a meter high, were of an exotic variety. From afar, they looked like clouds in the sky or coral trees beneath the sea, adding an air of grandeur to the villa.

"You haven’t been back for years. Take some time to rest in the South Seas; no rush to set sail," Yunjing said, always showing affability towards his nephew.

Sylvester nodded, the former charming dream of millions of girls, now grown mature and steady, with a broader smile.

Upon returning, Sylvester first visited Melody, then dealt with some old family affairs before accompanying Yunjing to see Delphine.

The uncle and nephew entered the villa to find the hall empty. The sliding doors in the center opened directly to the back garden, a vibrant display of blue trees and blooming flowers. Delphine sat in a couch chair, video conferencing, while the handsome man tended to new plants with a flower hoe.

Ignatius was the first to notice them, setting aside the flower hoe, cleaning his hands, and walking over with a gentle smile, "Delphine is handling company matters. Let’s sit in the tea room."

Ignatius inquired about his father-in-law and Sylvester’s current affairs.

Yunjing had come back to see how his daughter was doing, having read interview reports but needing to see her in person to feel assured.

"This time we’re not stopping for long. Syl wants to go sailing, and I plan to accompany him. I’ve spent a lifetime at sea and grown accustomed to it," Yunjing smiled, "Leaving Delphine in your hands, I feel at ease."

Ignatius smiled. After all, Delphine was like a daughter adopted halfway through, with their relationship more akin to friendship.

For the sake of his daughter, Yunjing stayed ashore for years. Now, with her well-settled, he couldn’t keep still.

"You should discuss this well with Delphine. She will understand," Ignatius smiled, not opposing.

"Might miss your wedding," Yunjing remarked contentedly, growing increasingly satisfied with his son-in-law.

The handsome man showed no change in expression, except a flicker in his eyes. In truth, he’s been troubled about this, hinting many times both openly and subtly, proposing even in bed, yet Delphine still hasn’t agreed, saying she won’t marry until Leah finds happiness.

Ignatius nearly had to press north to see these two married.

After sitting briefly, Ignatius called Delphine in and went to prepare lunch.

Delphine was surprised upon seeing her father and Sylvester.

"Sailing? How long this time?" Delphine asked, a mix of excitement and concern.

"About a year or so. It’s not an expedition, so no worries about safety," Yunjing smiled.

"Rest assured, Delphine. I’ll take care of second uncle," Sylvester assured from the side.

Delphine was silent for a moment, then nodded, "On the day you leave, Ignatius and I will see you off."

Later, the family had a simple lunch together and sat down for tea, chatting about recent life.

Seven days later, under fair weather, Yunjing and Sylvester’s fleet set sail.

Delphine and Ignatius went to the port to bid farewell, watching as the fleet sailed away to the cheers of the crowd, unable to return to reality for a long time.

Ignatius reached out and embraced her, pulling her into his chest to shield her from the relentless sea breeze, whispering, "There’s always a time for goodbyes."

Delphine nodded, burying her head into his warm chest, listening to his heartbeat. Many years ago, she knew everyone has their path to walk. Meetings and partings are inevitable; when gathering, toast with joy, when leaving, see off in silence.

In such a manner, all is well.
