the two-faced Adopted Girl Who Melted CEO's Ice-Cold Heart-Chapter 923: Wherever You Wish to Settle Down
The man found her arm-shaking gesture adorably endearing, like a kitten acting cute to get attention. He couldn’t help but smile, savoring her choice of words—We? She had finally included herself within her own territory.
"Wherever the lady prefers to settle, she shall. But for now, we need to stay in the United Kingdom for a while. I’ll visit my former teacher and sort out some matters first. After that, the lady may decide," the man spoke with a deep softness, carrying a hint of amusement.
"To France?" Ignatius Leclair remembered her fondness for living in a vineyard and felt it necessary to remind her that among the assets he transferred, there were several vineyards in Southern France.
"I haven’t decided yet," Delphine was a bit jubilant. For a long time, she traveled alone, and later she lived with Nicholas, her days busy yet fulfilling. If her travel companion were Ignatius Leclair, it should be quite nice.
When Arthur White drove up to the English manor, he saw Delphine clinging to Ignatius Leclair’s arm. The two stood talking under the raven-blue vintage wall lamp outside the vine-covered, old-fashioned house.
They stood quietly conversing with each other, the man extraordinarily handsome, the woman purely charming, resembling a perfect couple. The old house, green vines, wall lamp, man and woman, as beautiful as an oil painting.
Arthur White still felt a bit uneasy at adapting to the sudden change, suddenly feeling a touch of melancholy. It reminded him of over a decade ago, when he followed Ignatius Leclair back to Southeast Asia. Delphine was just a young girl back then, and the two of them would meet secretly. Those were indeed youthful days. A blink of an eye, and it’s been over ten years. Luckily, after all the twists and turns, they were still together; otherwise, his heart couldn’t rest easy.
Arthur White got out of the car, passed through the fence, approached, and smiled softly, saying, "Mr. Leclair, Miss Delphine, the car is here."
The man turned his face slightly, responding in a low voice. This time, they didn’t bring the Four Treasures and would have to rely entirely on Delphine to guide the way.
"Are you sure you don’t need to bring the guide dogs?" Delphine asked softly, glancing at the Four Treasures playing happily at home.
"With the lady around," the man smiled, indicating his complete trust in her. In fact, the French restaurant didn’t allow pets, and leaving the Four Treasures in the car would be too unkind. So, let them enjoy themselves at home.
Delphine still wasn’t quite used to this man who constantly flaunted sweetness and affection these days. Thinking back, he was such a cold and aloof person. She reached out to hold his hand, their fingers intertwined, gently guiding his way.
Arthur White swiftly stepped forward, opened the car door, and let the two of them sit inside before driving to the French restaurant.
This French restaurant was one Ignatius Leclair often visited, approximately once a year when he returned to the United Kingdom, so Arthur White was quite familiar with it.
The man spoke softly from the back seat, "The sauce you liked last time is made by the head chef here. The French are very passionate about food, with strict regulations on the amount of wine and spices used for each dish, which is why their food is exceptionally delicious. This chef’s dishes are typically low in oil, lightly cooked, and complemented by sauces, ensuring they remain delicious."
Delphine recalled Ignatius Leclair’s culinary skills, which were indeed exceptional. The same ingredients in his hands could be cooked into something incredibly delicious without frying, boiling, or steaming.
"Did you learn your cooking skills from this chef?" Delphine asked, turning her face slightly.
Ignatius Leclair smiled faintly, saying, "My mother’s diet was very light, and like you, she couldn’t get used to British cuisine, preferring French dishes. At that time, her health wasn’t good, so I set aside an hour every day to learn French cuisine. After about a month, I was able to graduate and cook meals for her myself."
