the two-faced Adopted Girl Who Melted CEO's Ice-Cold Heart-Chapter 920: I Thought You Wanted to Sleep with Me
"I thought you wanted to sleep with me." Mr. Leclair tugged on the leash, entered the room, and said expressionlessly.
Arthur, pulling a suitcase, glanced at Henry. They exchanged a look, deciding to find a partner and indulge in a bit of romance once Mr. Leclair recovered.
This move of his was really toxic. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎
Delphine snapped back to reality, biting her lip, wishing she could glare a hole in his back. How could this man think about such things all day without properly considering his illness?
"Miss Delphine, you stay with Mr. Leclair and rest well. If you need anything, just call me." Arthur smiled, having no courage left to step into Mr. Leclair’s old residence again. At his own place, he was more unabashed, so for the sake of their single lives, they better retreat.
Delphine nodded and watched Arthur and Henry swiftly run off.
She was somewhat surprised; usually, Arthur was as chatty as an old lady, but today he ran off so quickly.
Surprised, she turned and saw Ignatius standing behind her without knowing when he’d gotten there. His eyes were deep and star-like, often giving her the illusion that his gaze was fixed on her.
"What’s up?" Delphine asked.
The man initially didn’t know her position. Once she spoke, he reached out and pulled her into his arms, confessing with some inability to restrain himself, "So, are you sleeping in my bed again tonight?"
Although having her sleep by his side was a huge torment, he couldn’t bear the feeling of her not being nearby. Perhaps having too much makes one unable to endure losing, he now cherished everything he had, knowing he shouldn’t make her feel constrained, but with the uncertain future, he didn’t know how long he could live, so let him indulge a bit before surgery.
Delphine had originally planned to continue sleeping in his room. The master bedroom was his mother’s room, and Delphine respected this unseen lady. After much thought, she decided to sleep in Ignatius’s bed. Although they were no longer spouses, their feelings for each other were much better now, and besides, he needed her care due to his vision.
"Yes, so, is Mr. Leclair planning to sleep on the floor?" Delphine smiled slightly. Last night, he was clearly moved but didn’t touch her, showing such restraint. Likely, Ignatius would continue to restrain himself during this period.
The man leaned his forehead against hers and laughed deeply, "I’m not planning to sleep on the floor. Half the bed for each of us. I don’t quite remember the layout of the place; you need to remind me."
Delphine saw him move so easily inside and didn’t point it out, holding his hand, leading him upstairs, softly describing the layout of the house. His hand was broad and warm, tightly holding her small hand, giving her a vague sense of reassurance.
"I mostly come back here to take a look, not to stay often." The man spoke in a low voice. This two-story old house was quite sought after over twenty years ago, even more so now. But all his memories with his mother were here, and Ignatius mostly treated it as a hall of memories, staying at hotels when in the United Kingdom, not considering buying a house here until now.
However, the man suddenly remembered he was almost bankrupt now, thinking of this made him laugh softly.
Delphine rarely saw him laugh so openly, emotionally exposed. She couldn’t help but glance at him, looking at his handsome side profile, and asked, "Hmm?"
Her tone imitated his usual, casual cadence.
