the two-faced Adopted Girl Who Melted CEO's Ice-Cold Heart-Chapter 883: Only One Day Apart, It’s Not the Right Time Yet
In the tense and serious hands-on training scene, a five-year-old adorable kid suddenly intruded, and the atmosphere changed dramatically. Even Arthur White couldn’t resist pinching the little girl’s rosy cheeks, and everyone’s movements slowed down a bit.
Benjamin Leclair curiously looked at the red and green numbers and graphs on the computer, then at his dad’s furrowed brows. He tugged on Ignatius Leclair’s sleeve until the man lowered his face to look at her. It was only then that the little girl happily hugged his neck and gave him a kiss.
Unfortunately, she was too short and only managed to kiss his chin.
Everyone in the conference room paused their actions, sighing, wishing they could be kissed by Miss Benjamin, so adorable.
Ignatius Leclair was momentarily stunned, feeling that his daughter seemed particularly well-behaved today. She usually only clung to Delphine and Nicholas Carter. Thinking of Delphine, the man’s deep, phoenix eyes dimmed slightly. He patted the little girl’s fluffy head and asked in a low voice, "Does Benjamin want a lollipop?"
In a rare moment, Benjamin shook her little head and softly said, "Benjamin wants to be with Daddy."
The man nodded, and so the group of big men in the tea room proceeded with their meeting, accompanied by the five-year-old Benjamin Leclair.
Benjamin, full of curiosity, occasionally touched the mouse on the table, fiddled with a pile of confidential documents, or propped her little head up, studying the closest by Maximilian. Her big, dark eyes glanced at her daddy’s chin, then at Uncle Max’s chin, before reaching out and yanking at the stubble Maximilian hadn’t had time to shave, exclaiming crisply, "Beard."
Maximilian shivered as the little princess tugged on his beard. It suddenly struck him that he’d been working overtime every day until he practically died, having not slept at all last night. At this critical moment, with Young Leclair not sleeping, who would dare to sleep, let alone think about shaving?
Feeling Miss Benjamin’s eyes scrutinizing his stubble, Maximilian felt utterly exposed, completely undone.
The tea room was silent for a few seconds. Arthur White and Brock Gray resisted the urge to laugh, fearing that Maximilian might crawl under the table otherwise.
Ignatius Leclair observed the weary expressions on everyone’s faces, patting the little girl’s head, and said in a deep voice, "Let’s call it a day. Go home, take a shower, and sleep."
What? The stock market hasn’t even closed yet?
The workaholics were not used to this sudden relief; they felt restless without finishing their work. Moreover, if they stopped trading, how much money would they lose per minute?
Ignatius Leclair checked the time and said calmly, "No worries, it’s a long battle; half an hour doesn’t matter."
Arthur White was the first to stand up, packing up everything, and said with a smile, "Thanks to Miss Benjamin, I can finally go home and get a good sleep today. Young Leclair, you should also rest well."
Only then did the others begin to move, wishing they could pat the little girl’s head, but dared not do so with Young Leclair present, only thinking about it.
"Daddy, Mommy said we should be good and go to sleep," Benjamin hugged the man’s arm and said sweetly and softly. 𝒇𝓻𝓮𝓮𝙬𝙚𝒃𝒏𝓸𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝓬𝓸𝒎
Ignatius Leclair was slightly stunned. He knew Delphine had called Benjamin. The little girl excitedly called out "Mommy" on the phone so loudly that the whole Leclair mansion could hear, but he didn’t know she would still remember him.
The man felt a pang of confusion in his heart, picking up the little girl and murmured, "Okay."
Ignatius Leclair carried the little girl upstairs to sleep.
The three-man think tank packed everything up, and for a moment, there was silence.
"Why don’t you go to Brocade City to see Miss Delphine?" Brock Gray suggested.
Arthur White adjusted the glasses on his nose and replied indifferently, "We’ve only been apart for a day; it’s not time yet."
