The True Heiress is the Reserved Fiancé's Exclusive Memory-Chapter 585 - 596: Don’t Challenge Me (3)
"Doesn’t your little face feel uncomfortable?" Caiden Ward frowned.
"It does."
"So Uncle Ward needs to wash your face first."
"No."
"Sister Mia will take a while to come back." Caiden Ward said seriously.
"Then I’ll wait for her to come back and wash my face." Maeve said just as seriously.
Caiden Ward: "Alright then."
"Hmm."
Caiden Ward couldn’t help but laugh, "Why are you so obedient to your uncle?"
"Miss Cox said so."
"Hmm?" Caiden Ward raised an eyebrow.
"Miss Cox said to listen to little uncle when outside." Maeve stated matter-of-factly.
Caiden Ward lowered his eyes to look at her little cheek that was puffed up, then got up from the chair and placed her on Mia Ginger’s hospital bed.
Maeve sat at the head of the bed, kicked off her shoes, pulled up the blanket, and sat obediently leaning against it.
Waiting for Mia Ginger.
Beside her, Aurora Cooper looked down at her feeling only distress. Seeing the blood on her face, she tentatively said, "How about I wash your face for you?"
"Hmm." Maeve glanced at her, "Also not okay."
"I’m Sister Mia’s mom, I’m supposed to take care of her, and if she needs to take care of you, then I can take care of you too." Aurora Cooper sat down on the edge of the bed, gently and softly reasoning with her.
"Can it be like that?" Maeve tilted her head, pondering.
"Of course." Aurora Cooper leaned down to take her shoes, carefully putting them on for her, "Come, let me take you to wash your face."
"Okay then." Maeve nodded, "Thank you, pretty auntie."
"You should call me grandma." Aurora Cooper smiled.
"I won’t call you grandma." Maeve held her hand, puffed up her cheek, widened her eyes, and looked up, "Only those with white hair are grandmas."
Aurora Cooper: "..."
"Those with curly hair are usually aunties." Maeve added.
"Things in this world aren’t that absolute."
"What does absolute mean?"
"Hmm, it means certain."
"What does certain mean?" Maeve wrinkled her little nose, suddenly troubled.
"Certain, huh?" Aurora Cooper seemed to hit a tough question, so didn’t answer, smiling, "You’ll know when you grow up."
"Hmm, looks like pretty auntie doesn’t know either."
Aurora Cooper: "..."
"Mom says, when adults come across something even they don’t know, they’ll tell kids, ’You’ll know when you grow up.’" Maeve tilted her head, recalling Ivy Cox’s words, stating seriously.
"Haha." Aurora Cooper laughed, not refuting her, gently helping her wash her hands and face.
Leading her out of the bathroom, Koa Jackson and Mia Ginger just walked in.
Maeve let go of Aurora Cooper’s hand, ran over, hugged her leg, and said sweetly, "Sister Mia, your mom helped me wash my face, let’s sleep."
"Hmm." Mia Ginger bent down to pick her up, "Let’s sleep."
Maeve bit her lip and glanced at Koa Jackson, muttering, "That fierce uncle is still here, lingering around."
"Pfft." Mia Ginger looked at Koa Jackson in surprise, "Do you two have a grudge?"
"No." Koa Jackson said calmly.
Maeve pouted, her big eyes looking to the side, not responding.
Mia Ginger held her and sat her down on the bed, taking off her shoes, pulling up the blanket, and coaxing her to sleep.
Maeve had been tired from following Louis Cox all day, and was already sleepy, her little head leaned against Mia Ginger’s arm and soon fell asleep.
