The Trending Topic Herself: The Villainess is the Superstar!-Chapter 57: Miles Wallace
Another member, Julian Caldwell, disagreed, "James, don’t say that. I’ve seen the trending searches. Senior Maya Monroe is indeed beautiful. I even liked her posts with my small account, but most of her Weibo posts are about food, with very few selfies..."
As Julian finished speaking, his cheeks reddened. He had delicate features and usually appeared gentle.
James Wallace’s public persona was that of an energetic, sunny boy, but only those close to him knew he had quite an explosive temper.
"I think you’ve fallen under her spell," James snorted coldly. "How can it be such a coincidence that every time we release an album, her scandal surfaces, and during our last national tour, her scandal overshadowed us. Everyone knows she’s on the controversial path; nine out of ten of her scandals are probably self-created! Every time she overshadows us, it’s hard to believe it’s not intentional!"
Julian Caldwell frowned slightly, "Maybe it’s just a coincidence..."
James knew that ever since Maya Monroe’s stunning appearance trended, Julian had become her little fanboy, frequently defending her. James decided not to argue further and looked at their silent captain, Miles Wallace, "Bro, the ’Great Survival Challenge’ program has invited you, right? I heard from inside sources that Maya is likely to participate. Be careful then, with your huge popularity, I’m afraid Maya will forcibly link scandals with you!"
All members couldn’t help but glance at Miles Wallace.
The young man stood with his back to the light, short curly hair sticking to the sides of his face. His exquisite and sharp features appeared as a gift from the creator, with smooth facial lines void of any hardness, all soft without the slightest edge. The most striking were his crystal-clear blue eyes, pure without a trace of impurity.
Miles Wallace’s expression was indifferent, "If I can’t refuse, then let it be fate."
’Let it be fate’ was the phrase he used most, as if he was born without much attachment.

Madeline Underwood frowned as she noticed the sudden disappearance of trending topics, "Why are Maya’s scandalous rumors gone? Did someone pay to have them removed? Check it out and get in touch with the reporters; I’m willing to offer more money."
The assistant nodded in acknowledgment and hurried out, knowing Madeline always demanded efficiency.
Madeline sat in her office, increasingly frustrated as she looked at the disappearing trending topics about Maya.
The rumor of Maya and Joel Quinn wasn’t something she initiated; she merely fanned the flames and guided netizens to suspect the wealthy benefactor angle.
No matter how talented an actor is, once a rumor of a wealthy benefactor surfaces, the admiration from the public will diminish.
Before long, the assistant returned, wiping a bit of sweat from his forehead.
Madeline was surprised by his speed, "Back so soon? Did you handle it so quickly? I thought this would take a while to sort out..."
The assistant pursed his lips, appearing slightly nervous, "Miss Underwood, the trending topic may not be going back up; it was taken down by someone influential..."
Madeline frowned, uncertain whether to blame the assistant’s inefficiency or something else, "So you just came back empty-handed? Can’t you negotiate a bit? With enough money, how could it not work out? Just mention Jacob Miller, they’d have to give some face..."
Jacob Miller, Madeline’s high-ranking boyfriend at Valerius Entertainment, held significant power.
Madeline aimed high, unimpressed by Jacob’s mediocre looks, yet she couldn’t deny that dating him had indeed provided many conveniences.
The assistant nodded, ready to go out and contact again, but Madeline impatiently interjected, "Running back and forth makes me dizzy. Just contact them from here."
The assistant quickly took out his phone and began a new round of negotiation.
Madeline kept an eye on the assistant’s progress, but before long, she saw him shake his head in her direction.
What on earth was happening?
Madeline grabbed the phone from the assistant, her earlier arrogance gone, softening her tone, "Is this Brother Wang? We met at the banquet last time, remember? Rest assured, I won’t let your help go unrewarded."
Listening to the voice from the other end, Madeline’s face grew increasingly grim, "Of course, I’m not trying to make things difficult for you. But could you tell me who took down the trending topic?"
...
After a lengthy silence, Madeline hung up the call with a thud.
The assistant cautiously spoke, "Miss Underwood, what’s going on with this matter?"
Madeline’s lips curled into a cold smile, "It was Joel Quinn who had it taken down. Of course, that timid bunch wouldn’t want to oppose Joel. Although we can’t get the topic trending again, there are still ways to deal with Maya..."
The assistant hesitated before advising, "Miss Underwood, are you sure about this? What if Joel Quinn pursues this? After all, he’s the president of Valerius Entertainment..."
Madeline shot him a glare, "Don’t spout useless nonsense. Do as I say. Do you underestimate me or overestimate Maya? Joel always puts on that nauseating show of deep affection, but have you ever seen him actually take action?"
The assistant nodded, recalling how there was once much buzz about Joel Quinn dating actress Teresa Sutton, but never once did he see Joel actually take any concrete action to help or defend her.

The president’s office at Valerius Entertainment was once again in disarray. A secretary couldn’t dodge in time and got hit on the left foot by a document.
The computer screen emitted a faint glow, and Joel Quinn was still yelling in anger, "Which goddamned bastard is trying to screw me?! Who the hell sent this trending topic up again?! Do they want to ruin me?!!"
Joel usually pays great attention to his appearance and demeanor, but he was currently in a state of extreme rage.
Another document flew through the air. Though it was just paper, it landed lightly on the foot, but the secretary still kept her head down in fear.
When Joel isn’t angry, that’s one thing, but when he is, he’s as fierce as a tyrannosaurus.
Joel stared fixedly at the secretary, his eyes bloodshot, "First, get this matter sorted. Also, find out who’s behind this. Do they think Joel Quinn is dead?"
The secretary heaved a sigh of relief, finally finding an excuse to leave the office.
"Rest assured, Mr. Quinn, I will make sure this matter is handled properly," she said as she walked out.
Joel propped his arm on the desk, breathing heavily. His gaze moved to the screen, wishing he could smash the computer too.
After finally sorting out the scandal with Maya and painstakingly explaining things to Brother Rong, Joel thought the matter was resolved. Little did he know that someone would latch onto him, using vile tactics to undermine him again!
