The Trending Topic Herself: The Villainess is the Superstar!-Chapter 14: Taro Mochi
Maya had just hurried over from the hotel, she was still half asleep and looked a bit out of sorts.
She covered her mouth and yawned.
Maya was also wondering why she became so sleepy upon arriving in this world, is it related to the constitution and habits of the original owner?
Maya noticed everyone on set was holding a cup of milk tea, and her gaze instinctively fell on one of the people handing out the tea, the meaning was obvious.
That person walked a few steps towards her with empty hands, looking a bit nervous: "Ms. Monroe, is there anything you need?"
Anyone who knew of Maya’s reputation would never dare to confront her directly, even if they secretly looked down on her, they rarely show it openly.
This is because Maya is not only known for being a diva but is also a decidedly wealthy figure.
Last year, a junior assistant on set couldn’t stand her antics and pointed at her nose, accusing her of climbing the ranks through dubious means along with other unpleasant words. Maya, having a fiery temper, insisted that person apologize on their knees, or else she would have them expelled from the crew. The assistant was stubborn too, continuing to curse at Maya and refusing to apologize. Maya somehow asked someone to bring over a box of cash, stacks of bills were thrown at the assistant. The assistant, unable to handle such humiliation, ran away sobbing and resigned the next day.
When this incident was leaked by crew members, it trended for days, and many jokingly referred to it as the "Moneygate" incident, which sent Maya’s reputation plummeting.
No one would dare provoke such a person, even though they might loathe her to the extreme.
"Where’s my milk tea?"
Maya asked, her gaze lightly sweeping over his slightly trembling legs, wondering why he was feeling cold even in early autumn.
Sean Hayes was a new assistant by Leo Lancaster’s side, and he hadn’t expected someone to be left out of receiving milk tea, and surprisingly, it was Maya.
"Well... Ms. Monroe, you’re late, the milk tea is already distributed."
Sean Hayes’s teeth chattered.
He was also puzzled, the number should have been calculated correctly, how could it possibly miss this ominous figure!?
Missing out on the sweet milk tea, while Maya felt a bit disappointed, she didn’t show it.
Kiki, seeing Leo Lancaster seemingly intending to head towards Maya, ran ahead and reached Maya first. 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦
For some reason, she suddenly disliked the idea of Leo Lancaster having any contact with Maya.
Even though Maya is her sister, it didn’t matter.
It’s not that she was deeply infatuated with Leo Lancaster or anything, it’s just the most straightforward discomfort. Kiki had always been pursued and adored by various men since she was young; she was accustomed to and enjoyed this sensation. Now, right in front of her, such an excellent man noticed another woman, causing her immense frustration.
Kiki’s face was full of smiles, sporting a light makeup today, like a blooming little white flower, delicate and inviting pity.
"Sister, he’s just a small assistant, please don’t give him a hard time. This is merely an oversight, sister, don’t be overly critical, let’s talk about it slowly."
She said this and glanced at Sean Hayes, perhaps her protagonist aura was working again, as Sean Hayes looked at her dazedly and smiled, and soon enough his face reddened.
Kiki certainly is beautiful...
Actually, Maya is even more gorgeous; yet her cold and sharp aura, coupled with the scandals almost piercing the sky, who could shed stereotypes and take a good look at her face?
Maya was already in a bad mood due to insufficient sleep, and unexpectedly, Kiki came over to ruffle her feathers.
"Are your eyes having issues? Where did you see me giving him a hard time? And being overly critical, I haven’t even said a word and that’s overly critical?"
Sean Hayes realized as well.
Indeed, Maya hadn’t given him any trouble, then Kiki’s supposed goodwill was actually making up issues?
Kiki’s face turned pale: "Sister, how could you think of me in such a way? We are sisters, everything I do is for you!"
Had Maya not been tasked with villainous duties, she might have been enchanted by Kiki’s pitiful appearance.
"Oh, spare me! Can you have some dignity? Others haven’t said anything, yet you come charging in throwing accusations, who’s your sister?"
Leo Lancaster had already walked over by now, seeing this as a golden opportunity, Kiki displayed an even more fragile side: "Leo..."
"Maya, who’s upset you?"
Maya hadn’t publicly announced her marriage to Ian Rowe, so outside, Leo wouldn’t call her little sister-in-law.
Nobody expected Leo to brush past Kiki and directly approach Maya.
Kiki was left with a word stuck in her throat, but she quickly reacted, directly handing over her milk tea: "Sister, don’t be angry with Kiki, I’ll give you my tea. Leo wouldn’t deliberately refuse you tea, he must’ve just forgotten..."
Maya remembered in the plot, Leo was supposed to develop a fondness for Kiki and was one of the eligible men pursuing her.
Leo’s tea intended for Kiki, how could she accept that, wouldn’t it disrupt the storyline?
Seeing the milk tea Kiki was holding was plain, the "Taro Milk Tea Enthusiast" Maya’s refusal grew even firmer.
"I refuse to drink your leftovers!"
"I haven’t drunk it yet..."
"Oh, it’s about the milk tea." Leo suddenly smiled knowingly and said to Sean Hayes beside him: "Go fetch the two cups of milk tea being kept warm in the camper, pick up the pace."
Sean Hayes complied, he originally thought those were Leo’s drinks, but unexpectedly they were prepared for Maya.
Leo turned to Maya again, unlike the gentle aloofness with others, his eyes showed a touch of tenderness: "Knowing you always like to sleep a little longer, so I hadn’t brought them earlier fearing they’d cool."
Maya raised her brows, noncommittal.
Originally growing up with Leo, she as the original owner, the protagonist Kiki had only arrived in Kyston recently, at this time Leo still held some affection for Maya.
Seeing Maya not responding as warmly as usual, Leo felt a bit dejected but continued to smile at her gently.
After a while, he remembered Kiki still standing beside them, and said to her: "Keep your tea to yourself."
Kiki tasted a bit sour, yet she still nodded: "Thank you, Leo."
Before long, Sean Hayes returned: "Leo, your requested milk tea."
Leo handed it over to Maya: "I recall you’ve always liked the milk cap."
Maya didn’t take it: "I don’t like drinking milk cap anymore, too greasy."
Leo paused for a second, still indulging her: "What do you prefer drinking now?"
"No particular cravings."
"What do you prefer drinking now?" Leo repeated.
"...Taro mochi, I guess."
Leo instructed Sean Hayes: "Go buy a few cups of taro mochi flavored."
