The Trending Topic Herself: The Villainess is the Superstar!-Chapter 105: You’re Talking Nonsense
Justin Morgan repeated again, "We can bring anything?"
The guide gave a cryptic smile, "You can bring anything, except for one item."
Jessica Young frowned at this, "Why does your show like to speak in riddles? Can’t you just tell us everything at once?"
The group exchanged glances, unsure of what the show was up to this time.
"Please confirm your choices."
Jamie Miller asked, "Which item can’t we choose? What’s the point of choosing these things?"
The show was not following the usual routine, and the contestants didn’t dare to think in the most conventional way. They kept speculating about the show’s intentions.
The guide smiled, "Everyone, please make your selections first. Later, the program team will carefully filter them."
The guests’ faces were tense as they cautiously selected items from their suitcases.
Jamie Miller was conservative, ultimately choosing a phone, a flashlight, and a bottle of mineral water. Paul Phillips chose mosquito repellent, band-aids, and a bandage.
Jessica Young hesitated for a moment, but in the end, selected a powder puff, lipstick, and sunscreen.
Miles Wallace picked up his headphones without hesitation, then took out a phone and a lighter.
Maya Monroe watched them pick and put down items, feeling quite bored.
Suddenly, the guide walked over to her, "Maya, do you regret not bringing more things?"
Maya’s expression remained indifferent as she subconsciously guarded her pocket, "Not really, there’s no use regretting, is there?"
The guide praised her, "That’s a great attitude!"
[MilesBest: How inseparable is Miles from music, hahaha. But I wonder what the show means? I don’t dare to guess the show with conventional thoughts anymore.]
[Maya: Maya didn’t bring any luggage, I guess the kid was scared after the last time her luggage got taken!]
[Speechless: Did Jessica bring so many cosmetics? I’m genuinely shocked...]
[CrazyBeans: Go Maya!]
After the recent incident, Justin Morgan had become highly sensitive to what the show said. He loudly declared, "Everyone, don’t rush. Listen to my analysis first!"
All eyes focused on him, and Maya watched him with an amused expression. For a moment, she felt this journey wasn’t as boring as she thought, with a few attention-seekers jumping around like monkeys.
Feeling the gaze of everyone on him, Justin Morgan unconsciously straightened his back, "If I’m not mistaken, was everyone’s first thought that the show would let us bring the selected items? If everyone thinks that way, then they’re completely wrong! The show’s intention isn’t that easy to guess. We all noticed the guide playing word games earlier, deliberately leading us to think that way!"
"If we follow our first instincts, we’d fall right into their trap! In my opinion, the first idea we have is definitely not the show’s true intention! So, everyone should reconsider carefully!"
"Has anyone considered that perhaps the show’s thinking might be completely contrary to ours?"
Maya noticed a hint of interest in the guide’s eyes, though more of it seemed to be schadenfreude.
The other guests remained silent.
Paul Phillips, unusually, spoke up, "There seems to be some truth in that."
Jamie Miller, after hearing Justin’s analysis, looked a bit hesitant as well.
Miles Wallace was unaffected, as he was rarely swayed by external influences, but he said nothing, like an invisible presence.
Suddenly, there was a quiet chuckle.
The smugness froze on Justin Morgan’s face as he looked toward Maya.
He saw Maya standing not far off, arms folded in amusement, with a slight smile at the corner of her mouth. Noticing Justin’s glare, she didn’t tone it down but laughed even harder.
She wore the simplest clothes, but her charisma wasn’t hidden at all. She was the kind of presence that stood out in a crowd.
Anger rose within Justin Morgan. He already harbored resentment against Maya due to the rankings last time. Now, seeing Maya watching the scene like it was a circus, he felt like a monkey being watched and ridiculed.
"What’s so funny? This is something the six of us are dealing with together. You don’t provide any input to help us, and you’re just causing trouble here. How can you be so out of line? I get it, you didn’t bring any luggage, so you brazenly mess with others’ thoughts here!"
Maya remained indifferent, leisurely replying, "The show never said this was a team event. If you all like grouping up, go ahead. Just don’t drag me into it. But since you’re asking for my input..."
Seeing Maya’s growing smile, Justin had a bad feeling.
Sure enough...
"I think you’re talking nonsense."
Justin’s face instantly tensed, "You’re causing chaos for no reason! Do you have any sense? The show already tricked us once. Do you want to be tricked willingly a second time..."
Justin stopped mid-sentence as he suddenly felt a chill.
"Who are you calling brainless?"
The smile lingered on Maya’s lips, but it was a smile that sent chills down the spine.
Maya had strikingly attractive features but wasn’t of a gentle demeanor. When she was laid-back it was unassuming, but when she turned cold, it was bone-chilling.
The missions Maya previously participated in were always somewhat tied to "blood" and "death". Her aura had long been steeped like a sharp knife, seemingly ready to draw blood at any moment, and this was particularly evident when she was angry.
Justin instinctively took a step back, but quickly realized it was too unmanly, so he forced his shaky legs to move forward a bit, "You’ll see how ridiculous your ideas are later! I won’t argue with you any further; a gentleman doesn’t fight with a lady!"
As Justin turned away, he caught a glimpse of the familiar expression on Maya’s face—mocking and disdainful, as if watching a circus act...
Suppressing the anger in his heart, Justin thought to himself that he’d soon see Maya’s face swell like a pig’s head.
Jamie Miller hadn’t stepped in immediately, as he too was somewhat shaken earlier.
The guide looked at Maya with great interest, "Seems like our contestant number four has a bit of a temper!"
Maya chuckled lightly, without responding. 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺
Despite the earlier argument, everyone still leaned towards Justin’s idea, given Maya’s usual lazy and unreliable demeanor, making her less trustworthy.
Justin was very confident in picking out what he believed were three completely useless items for this adventure: a keychain, motion sickness pills, and a bottle of men’s cologne.
